it’s been 2.5 billion $, offered so far.
Line of credit part, it’s for importers to utilise if they want to. It’s targeted economic assistance in pharma, food and oil. it’s for Indian goods only.
Still are they planning to pay back or should we consider it as bad debt. If they are planning to payback then how?
PRC generally takes collateral even against against line of credits and soft loans.

Need to sign some sort of security pact as well keeping in view of Bharat's interest.

Looks like protests are US sponsered.
These words were not there when protests were going in Canada.

-__&________&__________

"I am watching the situation closely", American envoy to Sri Lanka on the protests, crisis in the country. Adds,"Sri Lankans have a right to protest peacefully - essential for democratic expression".

khane ke liye kuch he nahi. democracy ka kya karenge? nonsense people these muricans.

Isn't there a party/guy equivalent of BJP in SL or are all in China's pocket?

They have to pay back even if its by taking another loan... else run risk of default.

Good read to understand root of the problem-

“Similar is the loan facility India has given Sri Lanka, and the Indian government has to extend them continuously every three months. What will happen when the countries cannot extend these loans anymore? Then Sri Lanka will either default or borrow from another source at a very high cost. That is the risky position the country is in today.”

What would be our course of action if the default the loan?

Since no jurisdiction is involved and nothing can be done to grab assets, we will write it off as bad loan.

But since lanka would want to continue to exist as an independent country of some reputation, it will accept stringent IMF/WB austerity measures, reboot its economy and eventually pay off all its creditors.

EAM Manspreading indicates big balls - figuratively ofcourse.

The drunken lankan idiots who elected a street thug must be made to bow low and take a load up their backsides for every $ they get from us.
The posture of dignitaries tells more than the meeting itself, in-fact each posture selection is done carefully regarding whom the intended opposite chair is!!

1st pic-
EAM's chair is at perpendicular position to all others shows the status difference to SL delegation, No direct eye contact to any one while all looks towards him, extra 'manspreading' to show his(India's) dominance in status and power to rest with same posture of both palms resting on chair armrests with relaxed shoulder!! Clear and cleaver show of power-projection to the delegation and world via photo OP!!
2nd pic-
MEA's posture- hands spread, relaxed shoulder, direct eye contact, exposed groin section shows he is the MAN in charge there, while the Lankan got hands folded in front covering tummy and abdominal section with legs tucked closed- shows who the 'fariyadi' is.
I came to know such from one of my friends in 'circle' that high chairs' even gets rehearsed and briefed prior such meetings!!
