in this link it states India has joint collaboration for SAM'S with Israel, but does not specify??I could not find any source where it is said that there will be ToT for this system. However, some sub-systems will be manufactured in India. The missiles (Python-5 and Derby, including guidance) will be manufactured in Israel.
Good question Manc , any even better question where did the difference go?
The IAF bought 18 BATTERIES not 18 systems.^^^ If one spyder system costs 11 million means how come Indian air force bought 18 systems for 1 billion?
Anyway, I know we have 750 Python Vs and 750 Derbys. Two batteries have 75 Python Vs and 75 Derbys. This alone amounts to 20 batteries if we compare Singapore's two batteries purchase with 75 missiles each with Indian purchases of 750 missiles each.It is just for IAF base defence. It isn't like it is services wide like the Mistral contract.
Good that TATRA is no more ace truck in Indian armed force , thanks to General V.K.Singh i hope one day TATA & Mahindras get into tactical missile manufacturing as well:thumb:IAF's SPYDER ADS
