First thing first, AK's design was based more on Garand's than of StG-44's.

As for TAR, a particular country was bit grumpy with us regarding our mingling with the West and to please him, we scuttled the whole TAR option and went for a glorified Kalash.
MSMC was conceptualized when the whole world was going bonkers on the concept of PDW, but now it's obsolete. That's why we are developing ASMI.
