i'm betting on galil for practicality,50 percent chance of it,while bren 2 is what 40,desert tech is likely 10 due to it being a bullpup
IWI ace and bren have good chances.but the entire comment section is filled with "where is SSS defence?"SSS defence complains about not getting chances and mocks other companies for marketing foreign maal but when they get a good chance they aren't participating

@Johny_Baba

.

What is this type of spring called.
I know it's torsion spring but what is the double wound thing called, the two twisted wire thing.

Do all AK series rifle use this kind of sprint or do some avoid it?

Do they have a 7.62*51mm AR?

It's called braided/stranded/multi-strand spring. And it has nothing to do with torsion spring; almost all wire type springs can made braided. MG-34's recoil spring used to be single stranded but to increase reliability they switched to braided spring in MG-42.

Almost all military/stock AKs use braided spring and almost all match/drop-in triggers use single strand spring. Braided springs usually increase creep.

The non braided ones do the work as well right?
Most AR platform I see use the non braided ones. Are these type of Trigger mechanism the only one available or there are some other kind of mechanism that eliminate such complex spring all together?

Obviously, they do work. Almost all the springs on an AR are single stranded.

The only reason of using braided springs is redundancy; if somehow one strang breaks you have one or two intact stands to somehow manage the job.

Yup, there is another way of increasing the reliability of spring it involves using wires with square cross section instead of circular.

and this when they actually have that P-72 something in hand lol, even if we discount those AR as potentially imported-assembled-repackaged maal...

oh and all the given names of phoren ka maal,
MDRx,
Galil ACE,
Bren 2 BR,
...Tavor-7 et al originated as 5.56 NATO weapons that later simply were upscaled and made into 7.62 NATO ones variants...and they couldn't even do such simple thing of upscaling whatever they have in hand and doing ganikaa vilaap on others lol what to say...

It took a whole Jim Sullivan to downscale Eugene Stoner's 7.62 rifle to 5.56.

What do SSS have for actual R&D?
Nothing, except a Sarv-Gyaata Ganikaa doing constant Vilaap on every Tweet.

That's regular INSAS 1B1 upgraded using Israeli FAB kit

but yeah Galil ACE 7.62 NATO vs OFB R-2 should happen
baba need your gyan.

How is gas port of connected to Spring in Ak and AR platform.
Barrel is drilled first than what? how is it connected with gas port that feeds gas back.

Does the location of gas port impact the pressure that goes back to feedback.
Short port--- more pressure
long port---- less pressure.

If this Galil Ace 7.62 NATO is selected, it must be the one with the SR-25 Pattern Magazines to ensure commonality with existing magazines, present with Indian Armed forces and NSG’s existing Sig 716 SS DMR.

Not Baba, but his Chela here.

By connected I guess you're referring to related, coz there's no actual connection between spring and gas port.

In initial days of firearm development we had one of the most sophisticated and advanced way of mechanical engineering; trial-and-error method. Tens of different strength of springs and tens of different length as well as diameter of gas ports. And you kept mixing and matching them until you reached the optimum operating velocity.

But now a days we have many boring FEA (Finite Element Analysis) softwares that have made the job way less adventurous. You put the known parameters like weight of bolt carrier group, pressure of cartridge and it calculates the unknown values like gas port diameter or spring strength for you.
