It is a regular affair for Indian Army to avenge the fellow soldiers death. There are stories where Indian army soldiers applied leave and crossed the border to kill Pakistani soldiers to avenge their fellow soldiers death.Some times the news is made public like in case of surgical strikes, some times the news will be kept secret. .

Anyway pakistanis do not acknowledge these killings for the sake of their pride.

When world population has ballooned, 20 crore is nothing. 10 crore people died in WW2 when population of World was 200 crore. WW2 didn't even involve populous country like India or Americas directly (accounted for 60 crore). Today's Indian population is 140 crore. Obviously, when bad time comes, toll will be much higher. If 1 crore people can be kicked out from Pakistan in 1947, 10 lakh Pandits can be kicked out from Kashmir in 1990, if 50 lakh hindus can be kicked out in Bangladesh in 1970, with today's population, this 20-30 crore is not a big deal
