“An attack of the Pakistan’s Border Action Team on a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) was foiled in Kupwara’s Keran Sector on Saturday, which left five to seven Pakistan Army regulars or terrorists dead. The Army will continue to foil Pakistan’s nefarious designs,” said the Army spokesman.

Kashmir: Sopore operation ends, two militants killed
Srinagar, Aug 3 (IBNS): Two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants were killed in an encounter which took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore on Saturday.

The encounter, which began in the morning, has ended.

Among the slain militants one has been identified as Umer Shahbaz Wani S/O Mohammad Shahbaz Wani R/O Kharpora Bandipora and another one is un-identified foreign terrorist, source told IBNS.

Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site.

The local slain terrorist namely Umer Shahbaz Wani had joined the terrorist ranks on June 2, 2019. Since then, he was active within the jurisdiction of Police District Sopore with other terror operatives of JeM. Both the slain terrorists were involved in a series of civilian killings and attacks on security forces.
