Attack could be any mode(special forces, proxy etc) may not be by air... What I am wondering is if there is truth to the claim and risk is being taken to eliminate target inside Pak border, then why not get Azhar first? What are we achieving strategically by this?

Fantastic news about Shishper Glacier. Let us hope that Indian Govt has a plan to skim this opportunity.

The 15 km-long Shishper glacier has surged forward 2.5 km since last July, and was now advancing nearly four metres per day. At this rate it will take around two years to reach the Karakoram Highway and block it completely cutting off Pak from China along this route.

The same is the case with the CPEC too when the Khunjerab pass closes due to heavy snow from Oct to April/May each year rendering the link inoperable.

Boss Azhar is not a fixed target. To go after a person you need very large organization within Pakistan. CIA could not do it. So forget about RAW doing it.

Highly, unpredictable global warming can create havoc in the entire region. The glacier is huge and joins Shaksgam valley and then further Siachen glacier. Shishpar is sitting just across Khunjerab pass and its expansion may also effect Chinese Xinjiang - Tibet Road.
Cutting off Skardu from rest of Gilgit may be bad for Pakistan but will also effect expansion by Indian forces. Keeping Road Xinjiang - Gigit open throughout the year will become increasingly difficult.
India will do well to keep one High Altitude acclimation division ready to cater to emerging contingencies.

CIA used to be notorious for drug trade involvement in the 70s/80s...when the shady characters like Nixon ruled US.
