This rifle is basically an semi automatic AK47 with an extended barrel, the only measure to improve the otherwise poor accuracy, even the optics are crappy. The army leadership is least concerned about the safety and well being of the jawans. They talk big but have totally failed to devise effective tactics to counter paki sniper attacks. Pakis have a smaller and weaker army and thus they are employing the tactics that the Finns used against the soviets in Russo-finnish war and inflicted huge casualties on the soviet army which greatly demoralised the soviet troops. It seems that this simple concept is too much for the Indian army leadership to comprehend.

We do not need snipers to punish PA.
Our LoC kill ratio nowadays is much better than in 1998-2003.
Paki casualtues are atleast 40-50% higher by their own reports.
In 1998 we had 18% more casualties than them.

Role of sniper is not to increase kill count, Their mission is to take high valued targets and leave pshycological impact on enemy soldiers. Ask any soldier who came across or pinned by sniper.What kind of imapct they leave on them . A sniper on the loose is as deadly as an entire batallion.

Look at how they have activated Khalistani's because we adopted a hard stance. Hope our agencies are building credible tools for action in enemy territory and using their fault lines .

Spot on. Something that very few get. Not even people in power get it. That’s why the finance minister while holding the defence portfolio spoke of imposing “unbearable “ punishment not realising that is not something we can determine for them. The only thing unbearable for PA is to do nothing. We are dealing with an enemy that is fanatically determined and obsessed with destroying us. We have to be as ruthless as they are. We need fewer of this Aman ki Asha nonsense , I wonder what Mr. Sidhu has to say about the recent attack in Punjab which the CM says is ISI sponsored. The guys talking about soft borders etc are the real danger, that will be what the PA would love to have.

We have people talking about how we punished Pakistan with this or that action, they don’t get the point you make. That, for the PA, every failure is just a setback that they have to avenge by doing something else. Not for nothing do they talk about a 1000 year war, their hatred for us is immense and the only way for us to fight them is to be utterly and single mindedly relentless and ruthless.There is no peace to be had with Pakistan, not when their attitude to any interlude is to use it to relicabrate as you correctly put it.

That is why I believe , these LOC skirmishes are a good thing

They are about hurting the enemy's Ego
And showing him his Place

Just one depot blown up and Bajwa is talking of peace

That is a huge blow to their Martial Race Theory
