A 3rd gen Nag can never be cheap, the MWIR cooled seeker head itself will shoot up the price of a unit.

What you are looking for are the beam guided saclos Konkurs and the wire guided saclos MILANs; 2nd gen ATGMS that are cheap, man portable and number in the thousands right now.

More than enough to punish the pakis on the LOC over and over again, effectively dominating the area.

There is an indigenous 2nd gen ATGM developed by BDL and tested back in 2016, the Amogha-1.

I was thinking more in lines of our own indigenous Milan type ATGM.
Since it would be locally produced we won't have a shortag and would probably be cheaper too.

I suspect that maybe one of the reasons of tweaking the Spike deal without ToT- quickly build up the numbers that will be useful for immediate to medium-terms scale up and escalations on the LoC/IB and focus on Nag for the future.

What a turn of events. Once upon a time India used to follow strategic restraint policy and now Pakis using same choice of words which means they are being screwed bigtime.
