India should not get 'entangled' in South China Sea dispute: Chinese media

should we allow prc to dictate our foreign policy ?
that way every tie we have an advantage they neutralise it ?

i think we should bargain
they are not going to take a different route nn CPEC - it goes through Baltistan, so are they going to continue to entangle in that ?

we should formulate our policy with the usa on SCS and not engage with china on the matter ....simply avoid giving any answer

neither should we sell off our SCS policy in return for their nsg cooperation ..... we dont need it

they dont let up on border issues so we cannot allow ourselves to be bullied by them on SCS ....we should play our game well on SCS - give them problems there in return for all they have done to us

Chinese have head start of 15 years, the gap between India and China will be reduced with the economic rise of India. Until then it is better to ignore these chinese ignorant rants.

Slowly they are getting an Idea that Chinese economic rise has limitations. The harder they try to impose or dictate terms the more they are getting entangled in disputes.

China started a String of pearls strategy to encircle India well in advance 20 years ago,India is reciprocating undoing that strategy,it has just started now, which is why the PRC is feeling jittery now. They know if this continues their dream of ruling Asia will be be up in smoke.
India should continue South China sea policy so as to leverage PRC border issues with us.
We need to open another front in Tibet and Xinjiang.
Everyone knows Maoists and separatists in N-E have the blessings of China.
They are proceeding through a plan, they hope to fight 5 wars in the next 5 decades.
Right now they are silently preparing for it,calling it peaceful rise.
http://www.indiandefencereview.com/news/six-wars-china-is-sure-to-fight-in-the-next-50-years/
We know that it is anything but peaceful, when they routinely transgress into Arunachal Pradesh or Uttarakhand. The recent blocking of NSG by China gave away its real motive even though it tried hard to mask itself as neutral party. Then came the deportation of 3 Xinhua journalists among other things. "India's exports to China have dropped 16.7 per cent year-on-year in the first seven months of the year, Chinese customs data

This shows that we are slowly cutting down the Trade deficit which was in favor of China.

We need to focus on Economy, while allying with USA and other East Asian nations.
Let China make more Enemies,it will have a hard time fighting war on multiple fronts. The same mistake Hitler did in WW2.

55% of India's trade passes through SCS.
So, India is involving for own interest, not west and should do.
We are at least enough capable for protecting interests and this one is must for our economy. So, if you don't take strong decision, then, you're a fool.
By the way, article posted by @roma seems to be itself published in Beijing from link. So, obviously would try to malign our policy. If they're having problem, means it's working.:biggrin2:

India should not get 'entangled' in South China Sea dispute: Chinese media
Wasnt it the chinese FM who wanted the support of India in South China Sea Screwup a few days back..

“India may want to avoid unnecessary entanglement with China over the South China Sea debate during Wang’s visit if the country wishes to create a good atmosphere for economic cooperation, which would include reducing tariffs on made-in-India products exported to China amid the ongoing free trade talk known as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership,” an article in the state-run Global Times said.

:rofl::rofl:
Wasnt them saying earlier that china will drop the railway plan for India a few days back..
I suppose what china cant afford should go to some other nations.!!

This is the usual chinese peskering.
The "stubborn reaction" of china is how china slowly makes things into their advantage. The civilized world however seems to behave in a non confrontational way with chinese confrontations and china takes a mile out of every inch given to them.

and with a few carrots china wants India to tow the chinese line.

India should remain impartial to chinese economic threats as in itself china poses the great security threat not just for Indian economy but the nation as a whole because of the support china gives to the terrorist state of pakistan.

South China is full of Resources and Minerals. SCS can not be a property of CPC. "India is expected to allow only moderate tariff reduction on made-in-China products under the talks in a bid to preserve its domestic industries. If India wants China to be more generous in terms of tariff reduction, it would be unwise for the country to let its relationship with China deteriorate further at this moment,"

While many Indian people have been focused on the South China Sea ahead of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's upcoming trip to the country, less attention has been paid to the recent fall in exports of made-in-India products to China,

Thanks for tagging me @roma

I have been guilty of impudence many a times and can not guarantee that I will not do in future; every time I have tried to explain such complex phenomenons. Nations works like big amalgamated cooperation and It is very hard for ordinary posters like me to catch up with them or suggest anything plausible here.

Indian diplomacy works on different tangent or diplomacy in general than what publicly we perceive by referring to different New articles and OpEds.

The realpolitik in this case should be, if PRC is spending diplomatic equity to dictate us then we shall make them feel that their dictation is working on us and we expect quid pro quo.

When ever someone gets proactive the rule of Zero Sum Game kicks in.

Chinese Ambassador signals room for talks on India in NSG

Refusing to “heat up” the issue again, Liu Jinsong, Beijing’s envoy to New Delhi, said since India has not named China, why should it “rush to pick up the hat”.
WRITTEN BY SHUBHAJIT ROY | NEW DELHI |:rofl:
we are gonna hear a lot of this kind of BS from now on

prcchina is getting desperate

we should let them know for sure we will do it on our own merits and we specifically dont want any interference from them on the matter ....in fact please go ahead and block us if they want ....perhaps we will get the rules changed and also it will show usa they better get us into the permanent UNSC

This joker Sartaz Aziz everyday wakes up early to get scolding from Army bosses, who take dictation from Chinese masters via hotline; to come up with new feel good rant, assuming it will unsettle Indians.
.
whoever pays attention to this daily scolded clown anyway ?

China is in trouble due to SCN and wants India to sign this with Pak so that Chinese can get India into NSG, This is politics.
We are from now going to be hearing a lot of these stupid ideas and conciliatory words form both prcchina and peskystan .....

prcchina is in VERY big trouble in the SCS - they are basically going to be taking on the whole world ....the last time that happened was when china faced the combined brains of a few European countries , albeit even without the usa joining in , the few tiny Europeans using better technology, managed on their own to cut the then ching dynasty's empire to pieces

so this time we could see something similar

we dont need prchina "help" in NSG - we are much better off doing it without any debt to them and they will probably try to engineer it so they can get peskystan into the organisation later on

when that Li keeching pm of prcchina comes to visit , we should give him lunch and send him packing off

China can't be tackled by soft approach.

They have started annoying India on lot of fronts. For example meddling in PoK,Nepal,BD,SL and off course Pakistan. Not to forget their childish tenting on Indian land and then running away.

Recently they showed their color in NSG, so why should we get lenient at all? The Chinese economy would be sunk if they start confronting US and it's allies. The Chinese "factories" would be shifted to other smaller countries in SCS and China would not be a export Giant which is the base of its new power on which it's jumping in a very arrogant manner..

India SHOULD not back off.

Despite China, Vietnam okays India's plan to drill SCS for oil

NEW DELHI: Vietnam on Wednesday affirmed that India, being its strategic partner, can conduct oil exploration in a part of the South China Sea, despite Beijing’s objection, as it fell under its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Vietnamese Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh appreciated “strategic partner” India for its “positive” statement on the International Permanent Court’s verdict on South China Sea favouring Philippines’ claim.

Even as Chinese state media “advised” India to refrain from raising the South China Sea issue during the upcoming visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister to New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making a political statement by stopping over in Vietnam en route to China to attend the G-20 summit.

“PM Narendra Modi generally has long visits abroad. When he is going to the G-20, Vietnam is the only country that he will visit bilaterally,” Ton Sinh told selected media representatives here. This is the first visit by an Indian PM to Vietnam in 15 years. Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee had visited Vietnam in 2005. He set the foundation for strategic relations between the two countries that Modi built on by extending `100 crore line of credit for defence purchases to Hanoi.

Vietnam is moving its new Israeli-made rockets to the South China Sea

By Davide Mastracci

August 10, 2016 |
Vietnam has brought mobile rocket launchers from its mainland to islands in the South China Sea, which is likely to increase tensions with China, according to Western officials.

These rocket launchers are now close enough to hit targets on Chinese-controlled islands in the disputed area, according to the military officers and diplomats who spoke to Reuters.

Control of islands in the South China Sea has long been a point of contention between China and Vietnam, while Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei also have made claims to portions of this area.

On Wednesday, China's foreign ministry told Reuters that it has "indisputable sovereignty over the Spratly islands and nearby waters" and "resolutely opposes the relevant country illegally occupying parts of China's Spratly islands and reefs."

In July, a case brought to an international court by the Philippines found that China lacks any legal basis to its claims to a large chunk of the area.

Vietnam's fortification of its islands over the last few months is in response to a Chinese buildup of various military installations on the islands it controls, according to Carl Thayer, an official at the Australian Defence Force Academy specializing in Vietnam's military.

"China's runways and military installations in the Spratlys are a direct challenge to Vietnam, particularly in their southern waters and skies, and they are showing they are prepared to respond to that threat."

Thayer says that China, however, is unlikely to perceive the rocket transfer as a defensive move, meaning increased militarization of the area may be imminent.

The rocket launchers Vietnam has moved into the islands are part of an elaborate artillery system purchased from Israel, according to military officials.

They are currently unarmed and hidden from surveillance, Reuters reported, but may be ready to fire within the next couple days.

China is no Pakistan that can be easily isolated and exposed in world arena , even US and Russia do not conflict with Chinese interest
To counter china diplomatically we need a very strong alibi (Vietnam for one) .

China is a superpower in todays world and unluckily our northern neighbour also an strong ally of our enemy , so this makes situation very complicated

Chinese policy if require sometimes to compromise on our stand but to gain on our interset till that point I won't bat an eye

Ditch Chinese twats. They are back stabbers, always.
I do not understand why the Chinese want India's backing in SCS issue.
If they are a powerful country (like they claim everywhere) they should be able to defend/safeguard their waters themselves. A puny Chinese minister shouldn't come running to India with a white flag stuffed in his ass !

And look at their media ! They now say China will support India's NSG bid. What a shame !
Those brainwashed commie morons !

India shouldn't support CHINA on SCS arbitration case as,the Chinese threw the rule book at us in NSG, Don't bargain just for NSG! Pitch More,UNSC and etc., just like how the chinese take a mile out of a Inch,Give them a taste of their own medicine.
RIC is a Chinese Construct,it wanted to make it look like Every Asian Nation is onboard, but the truth?
is they want everyone to be their Vassals.
Do read Chairman Mao's literature, it speaks about having a 100 Million Standing army to control the world. That is why even though the PLA has a standing army of 3 Million it still has "Compulsory conscription for every Citizen to serve 6 months in the army".
It might have hoodwinked others but the reserves will serve as a Army in future realizing Chairman Mao's dream of 100 Million Army. That is why they started this Unification of HANS,because anything that can break their bond is division,so China is making everyone forget their ancestry and call them "HANS"

China fears us for the same thing, if galvanized whole of Bharat is a tremendous fighting force. They will face nightmares with us as they learnt later on in other conflicts.

Why can't we use our Population for our benefit?

China isn't a bad country.

1) There are people out there who don't want to see a prosperous non-western country. Many of them are powerful. Many of them will bribe high ranking politicians or even start a war. It's in China's right to be defensive.

2) China doesn't need competition at this stage in its growth. It's worried greatly about falling into a middle-income trap like Brazil. India is its primary competitor.

3) The border skirmishes are minor to irrelevant. India should try to calm the situation down and reduce it to a "diplomatic spec of dust".

4) Pakistan is the only major controversial issue. I think China's support for Pakistan is a huge worry for India. India should focus on courting China away from India by offering China a port on the western banks of India,
