You know why Marathas couldn't rule India despite mugal emperor being their bitch?

Because they fought an unnecessary war with abdali far away from their centre of power and it destroyed thier finance and their unity was strained. British later took advantage of it and Marathas lost. With them India lost 300 years of progress and prosperity.

Lesson no. 1. No useless war. Lesson no . 2 no war away from home unless directly attacked by a foreign force.
Lesson no. 3 learn from Vietnam and Afghanistan disaster of USA . If we have to fight a foreign force than just bomb it to hell but never stay there to build democracy .

Afgans will have to sort themselves out. For which they need to be free of porkistan interference. For which we can force porkistani attention in defending pok.

Also we need to make deal with fractions of Taliban and revive northern alliance type counter movement against Taliban which can fight dirty against Taliban. We need to work with Iran and Russia to keep our interest protected in Afghanistan no matter what usa does.

More importantly we need to keep bleeding porkistan so that it can't interfere in Afghanistan.

Once porkistani interference declines afgans will find peace among themselves.
Well said... Americans fought war for there gains they started this messs if Afghanistan today was a under soviet or even in communist ideology even then they would have been living a much better life because any ideology is better than taliban. There rule is brutal women's rights are non existence..

Americans gave weapons support to extremist groups armed them to the teeth besides airforce and nukes lamo they gave them everything. And end result because they were build from ideology of protection of islam they see everyone who is kafirs against them. It's a mess created by Americans. They made a pathetic group so strong because of American arming Afghanistan this whole insurgency in kashmir started Pakistan used American resources and Afghanistani troops to attack us in 2k19 Pakistan is doing this same.
Can this thing ever stop ask yourself do you think thousands /millions of Muslims can forget ideology of jihad?.

Even at times of 26/11 if we had world class surveillance systems and all eyeson on our ocean that attack could have been stopped. We need to make our nation full proof from terrorists. Let them come near loc build most advanced systems which can take on thermal image bla bla everything. So that we can hunt Easily article 370 is gone now time is to build proper borders.

Americans and Muslims ummah should give india billions because of American weapons and because of Muslims ideology we lost so many of resources. Both are our culprit.

I think Afghanistan will have peace when they are left alone. Taliban is a giant now they cannot be removed and with taliban policies there will be never a peaceful situation.

Afghanistan is India's backyard, we wont leave it alone.
Don't be kidding yourselves. Afghan has never been in India's backyard since 1947. You don't share a meter of border with her.

India has already said that it is willing to send troops under the UN cover. Our soldiers will have be paid a UN salary and life insurance cover and countries found attacking UN troops will come under UN sanctions.
That is the problem: there are too many voices within UN. Putting your troops under UN's command when you have very limited influence within UN is very dangerous. UN sanctions may not even come if any of P5 doesn't like the idea of keeping Indian army there.

The US wont leave. They are completely shameless and lie through their teeth. They have their own interests there for which they need to stay put perpetually.
American will leave. They are paying big price for keeping their logistic route open. A big part of the cost is not supplying their troops but pleasing Russians and Pakistanis. The price is increasing day by day. They either leave now or to be kicked out later.

We need to be there for our own reasons, under a framework that protects our interests. Not under the American framework.
Americans are your best chance of keeping your troops there. They want to see an outsider still stay within Afghan. You can't say the same about Russia and China.

If CIA didn't send their agent David Headley for recce, 26/11 wouldn't have happened. We asked for his custody even after the attacks but the CIA denied access, because it is the land of the free and home of the brave and a good friend of India. :nono:

We have good relationship with the Afghans. We would look as an occupational force if we send our boots to the ground. I think it's better not to send troops there.
As someone said here we already have "essential" ground presence there, however they are either part of security or training in Afghanistan.

We should have a airforce base in Afghanistan with two squadrons. Ask Unkil to give 2 squadrons of FA 18 free.

Pakis will be PKMKBed.

Actually if our strategic planners were any good, we would gift our Mk.1 IOC Tejas birds to the Afghan AF. Our IAF doesn't want them and will never use them properly, just get rid of them, get goodwill out of it as a bonus

No. Afghani are hardened bastards. These people sure know how to fight a guerilla war.

Plus it's hard to differentiate b/w a taliban and a normal afghan. If we end up killing a significant no. of non taliban afghan then it's goodbye to all the goodwill work we have done in afghanistan.

I believe it's of no use for us to put boots on Afghan soil. Our concern about Afg is mainly due to Pakis getting strategic depth in Afg which would harm our nat sec. Trade, access to CAsia apart, the main reason is stopping Paki hold on Afg rogue militant groups. We are doing great now, let's maintain things this way.

It is a fact that we can't sustain our presence in Afg without us having GB. Taliban's biggest backer is Pak which is longing like a jackal at our frontier for American exit after a Peace deal. They want direct control of Kabul which would make them the ones administering the foreign policy of Afg to their benefit. Now that the peace deal is off for discussion the only way this mess could be controlled is back to sq one.

1. More offensive on Pakis. Break Pakistan economically, diplomatically, militarily. Make it irrelevant. It has been selling the 'strat location' card for enough time now. Let it focus more on our front than Afg, keepin them pigs busy here. Attrition of regulars shd be unbearable for them.

2. Let the coalition support Afghans to fight Taliban like now. Afghan army is making good hits these days. Without Paki dedicated support, Talibs will make wrong moves. We can keep training their Officers and maybe consider stationing a few birds over there in a consulting role to Afghan AF.

That shd be for now. Now comes a hypothetical scenario where India gains GB and Pak will be back to post '71 morale. I don't belive they will survive the loss of GB but assume they do with a dented economy, military.

1. With GB we have direct access to our traditional stronghold- Northern Afg. Resurrect the Northern Alliance and cut the mess frm there. We can then put troops in Afg to support NA ops. Our flanks would be safe by then.
And materiel support frm India would be immense.

2. Pak will calculate the support to Taliban then onwards coz any misadv may lead to it's rear whooped again. This assuming they survive loss of GB to India.

I believe we shouldn't put boots on Afg, anythin beyond protecting our interests, as of now.
We will have to step in sometime in future, and we can consider weighin the possibily only after we get back GB.

You must remember that the current map of Afghanistan (and all the subsequent troubles it has encountered) is a vestige of our old friends the Brits and their haphazard ways.

The country is linguistically and culturally divided along the Pashtun south (which shares more in common with Pork NW Frontier and FATA) and the traditional Afghani North.

Even during the height of the Taliban, they never had much support in the North. Today the North is mostly calm and most of the development work ongoing is in that half. The South is a wasteland of dust and jihadis all infected by Pork ISI sponsorship. These morons don't want anything even remotely related to development, they are happy to live in medieval times to practice their religion in all its brutal glory.

It's not hard to differentiate between an Afghan and a Taliban. Even the Afghans themselves say, "All Afghans are not Taliban...but all Taliban are Pashtuns". Both the Brits and the Americans made the mistake of treating the whole population with suspicion which the Northern Afghans resented while the Pashtuns never gave a shit anyway. All attempts to bring the Pashtuns into the mainstream have failed, attempts to incorporate Pashtuns into the Afghan ANA forces ended in fratricide and mass desertion.

India should train Afgan fighter for their wars instead of sending our forces. That's way it is best.

Hindu Kush in Pashto literally means "Death of the Hindus"...named for the time when the erstwhile Hindu kingdoms which ruled that land were enslaved and worked to death making roads through the mountains
It’s childish, derogatory and it’s ironiic how different interpretations are being sprung up to justify its use.

Why not call it Hind kshetra (if the presumption is lost in translation over time.)

Perhaps we need to help with that definition of Hind Kshetra and with POK and other areas need to be decimated and realignment to dharmic ways. Jai Hind.

No, not in a conventional sense. We don't need to redeploy entire divisions there. What we can carry out is clandestine Spec ops operations, coordinating with American and Afghan forces. Everything out of Public domain.

India must send forces to afghan but conditions apply

India should not send force on its resources or under her name

UN Peacekeeper kind of mission should be initiated and forces deplyoed in africa & other countries should be deployed in afghan

Also BSF airwing should be increased & deployed in afghan .This will help india to create a robust attack capability on pak's west front. Also this maneuver increase 2 front war in POK region ,Afghan has high mountains than pak so any shell will shake pak's core ,right now you have to use missile to hit rawalpidi but with afghan shelling can do the job without escalating the issue

If india will be deployed militarily in afghan ,pak will put more money at stake to counter that which means pak will be going to grave ASAP

By any means india must now say india is involved in afghan or crony west will change side & will blame all bad things on us.ALso risk of terror attack in india & forces in afghan will be more

We are struggling to handle our borders with China and Pakistanis and you want us to put boots on ground in a Taliban-ruled Afghanistan?

ISI will have a field day picking off our officers daily by the dozens. This is nothing but suicide.

If the Afghans cannot defend their lands like cowards and let 85,000 Talibanis take control of 35 million people, then that is their problem, not ours. These losers had no trouble wiping out our communities over generations by behind-the-veil conversions, targeted harassments, force, etc. and now want us to bleed for their cowardice?

I have 0 respect for Afghanistan today except for the Panjshir valley where there is some semblance of reason.

Pakistan has 0 money to run the Taliban government.
The US will not release the funds frozen in American banks.
TTP is fvcking Pakistani soldiers every day within Pakistan.

Let the Islamic biradar nations handle it themselves.

We need not risk our soldiers for their insanity. My vote as a brother of a serving military officer is a big red NO.
