Did you know that SU-37 was a tech demonstrator and that SU-30MKI took many of its features such as TVC.
Only way to keep an edge over China is new engine and radar plus lot of training

we have joint development program with Russia for PAK-FA/FGFA

Also we upgrading our entire fleet of Su-30MKI to super Sukhoi.

Is Su 37 development still in active phase?

the russian ministers and govt officials when asked about the sales of such advanced machinery and chinese expertise in reverse engineering politely replied that by the time chinese will reach this level the world would have moved on to newer tech rendering this tech not that dangerous as it looks today. point that the same experts pointed out that the chinese are importing 1000 engines of russian origin shows severe backlog in chinese engine development. they still use russian engines. chinese engines were also termed inferior to russian contemporary.
moreover russians said that india should not worry as by the time china will get these jets the fgfa will be in the skies giving clear advantage to india.

this sales can be interpreted as wake up call for india to invest heavily in fgfa and domestically in amca and tejas mk2.
