Senators call for steps to counter India’s ‘aggressive foreign policy’
AMIR WASIM

ISLAMABAD: Upset over India’s aggressive foreign policy moves, the senators on Tuesday asked the government to immediately rectify its “diplomatic failings”.
Taking part in a discussion on an adjournment motion moved by PML-N’s Javed Abbasi on the “recent test of an intercept missile by India contributing to an unhealthy arms race in the region”, the senators also expressed their concerns over India’s growing relations with Afghanistan, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
In their speeches, they highlighted the recent visits of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to various countries which were considered to be friends of Pakistan.
Aziz says measures being taken to augment defence capabilities
In its efforts to have a full-fledged and multi-layered ballistic missile defence system, India on May 15 had successfully test-fired an indigenously-developed supersonic interceptor missile, capable of destroying any incoming ballistic missile.
Mushahid Hussain Sayed, who is also the chairman of the Senate defence committee, drew the attention of the house towards the “growing collusion between India and the US”.
The PML-Q senator said the Indian prime minister was currently in Washington where he was scheduled to address the US Congress. In the next couple of days, he said, the member states of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) would be considering India’s request to join the group.
Alleging that Pakistan’s diplomacy had failed, Mr Sayed said that if India became a member of the NSG, it would be able to block Pakistan’s entry into the group. “We have alienated Iran and Afghanistan and the two countries are now improving their economic ties with India,” he said.
“We are going to enter an unending arms race,” he said while referring to the May 15 Indian missile test. Besides efforts to counter Indian designs through military means, he called for “cohesion” within the country, saying that India should not be in a position to take advantage of the situation inside Pakistan.
Calling for an honest review of the security and defence policies, PPP’s Farhatullah Babar said the policy of supporting non-state actors for advancement of certain security objectives had also spurred arms race in the region. “There will be no arms race in the region if foreign and security policies are formulated by civilians,” he added.
Mr Babar was of the view that the civilian and political leadership must wake up and retrieve the space in formulating security policies already dangerously ceded to the security establishment.
Former interior minister Rehman Malik said Iran was even ready to provide its base to India. He said the US had never recognised Pakistan’s role in the war on terror. He asked why the US did not target Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour through its drones while he was travelling in Iran.
Winding up the debate, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan would take all possible measures to augment its defence capabilities.
“Pakistan is not oblivious to its defence requirements and upgrading its capabilities through suitable technologies without entering into an arms race,” he said, adding that “our efforts for peace and friendship must not be interpreted as our weakness. We are fully capable to defend our people and territory”.
Mr Aziz said the country’s scientists and experts were monitoring and evaluating the strategic threats that Indian nuclear doctrine posed to national security. He said that despite limited resources, Pakistan had developed a robust nuclear deterrent system.
The adviser said Pakistan was planning to highlight the dangerous implications of India’s plan to nuclearise the Indian Ocean at all the relevant international forums. He said Pakistan was also considering the option of moving a resolution in the UN General Assembly, seeking to declare the Indian Ocean as nuclear-free.
Mr Aziz said Pakistan was lobbying effectively and proactively in all the member countries of the NSG, adding: “Our efforts towards non-discriminatory approach will pay off.”
Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani suggested that if the members desired, the Senate could be converted into the committee of the whole house to prepare new “terms of engagements with the US”. Amidst desk-thumping, he said the committee could invite stake-holders and hold in-camera sittings on the matter.

Pakistanis are going to be bankrupt soon and they are doing what we wanted them to do.

We tested nukes, they followed the same.

Now we have taken care of their nuke armed missiles with AAD, PDV/PAD; they changed their nuclear doctrine to full spectrum nukes (like the earlier ones were not enough against us).

Now we are going to trident nuclear doctrine with nuclear submarines: they too want nuclear submarines.

We have two SLBMs (K15 and K4) and in future K6, not to forget SLCM (Brahmos submarine version and Nirbhay): Pakistan now working on sub launch cruise missiles.

We are going to buy S400 system: Pakis going mad.

Modi started these foreign visits: They are mad as hell

We are getting into NSG and MTCR: Pakistan also want them but it has very bad record.

There is nothing a good lie cant fix in pakistan.make pakistan more islamic and viola diplomatic scewups are justified and solved.

According to pakistan, state sponsored terrorism of pak is not at all a regional problem. The real problem is India having the capability to intercept their lies in mid air

In their speeches, they highlighted the recent visits of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to various countries which were considered to be friends of Pakistan.
A good acknowledgement that pak is isolated to an extent beyond pak worry.

Aziz says measures being taken to augment defence capabilities
More lies are getting planted in the pak media for long term effect. The terrorist spokesperson for pak like Hafiz Saeed and Burhan Muzaffar Wani are briefed on unleashing verbal diarrhea against India.

Nice to see pak confidence in Indias entry into NSG.

Alleging that Pakistan’s diplomacy had failed, Mr Sayed said that if India became a member of the NSG, it would be able to block Pakistan’s entry into the group. “We have alienated Iran and Afghanistan and the two countries are now improving their economic ties with India,” he said.
[/QUOTE]
pakistan a nation which las lost all wars with India despite having nukes should not be surprised to see a diplomatic failure.

A visual representation of pakistan's diplomatic dance move with the US on international support.

 They are recounting their Karma with Iran and Afghanistan.
pakis are sober..I see them using words like "economic ties" improved relationship than the usual bitching of "strategy and tactical" tie.

We are going to enter an unending arms race,” he said while referring to the May 15 Indian missile test. Besides efforts to counter Indian designs through military means, he called for “cohesion” within the country, saying that India should not be in a position to take advantage of the situation inside Pakistan.
pak can be assured that pak groomed terrorists are already taking the advantage of situation inside pakistan and India will never be a competitor for paki terror groups. :D
India will fabricate new weapon system and pak will fabricate unending lies thus creating a very dangerous arms race in "SOUTH ASIA".

Calling for an honest review of the security and defence policies, PPP’s Farhatullah Babar said the policy of supporting non-state actors for advancement of certain security objectives had also spurred arms race in the region. “There will be no arms race in the region if foreign and security policies are formulated by civilians,” he added.
:D pakis are already contradicting themselves.
1 says its Indias missile tech that has started arms race. another has more honest and realistic opinion that paki support of NON STATE Actors has spurred arms race in the region.

Former interior minister Rehman Malik said Iran was even ready to provide its base to India.
Must be sad..his NOT supporting Saudi in Joint Strike didnt yield any result with Iran.

He said the US had never recognised Pakistan’s role in the war on terror. He asked why the US did not target Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour through its drones while he was travelling in Iran.
Rehman Malik forgot where US creamed Osama Bin Laden on WoT.. :D
Nobody can drone any other nation like pakistan... The national bird of pakistan itself is Drones.

Winding up the debate, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan would take all possible measures to augment its defence capabilities.

“Pakistan is not oblivious to its defence requirements and upgrading its capabilities through suitable technologies without entering into an arms race,”
he said, adding that “our efforts for peace and friendship must not be interpreted as our weakness. We are fully capable to defend our people and territory”.

Means more alms from china.
Ofcourse equipping pakistan with chinese junk will never create an arms race.

Mr Aziz said the country’s scientists and experts were monitoring and evaluating the strategic threats that Indian nuclear doctrine posed to national security. He said that despite limited resources, Pakistan had developed a robust nuclear deterrent system.
These bunch are called "EXPERTS"
or did he mean EXPORTS referring to AQ Khan?

china wont be impressed by that move.

Pakistan is finding out the hard way that just having a nuclear weapons and a large standing military is no recipe for respect.

Pakistan reminds me of the Soviet Union: strong on the outside, but hollow in the inside.

I always try my best to ignore these kiddish people but such articles make my mood changed always
Anyway, have a good read.
It's just FUNNY to see these "ass burn" Pakis.

Instead of shedding terrorism and insulting "Islam" these Pakis are taking a negative approach all the time and known as a Terrorist State.

Americans had to swallow a very hard pill when OBL was caught and killed in Pakistan and protected by Pak Army.Poor Americans paid money to kill their own soldiers by Pakis/Terrorists for over 10 years in WOT.

Poor Pakis are just baffled and insecure the way MODI is doing foreign policy specially going to US and the way he got applauded today(66 times clapping and about 7 times standing ovation+shakehands by almost all senators) at US Congress. The same US which didn't give Visa to him.Pakis would never ever get that respect.Even at Arnoobs show the Opposition had to appreciate and had hardly anything to criticize for a change.

Pakis would again try to launch a new missile(means a archive video) and claim they did a new Hypersonic Terrain hugging Missile or bend over to China to get some junk.

On katu forum they were celebrating cpec as game changer and will increase their exports, then I asked them apart from agricultural products what else can pak offer, Chinese companies are investing money in your gwadar, they will flood ur market with their own goods, whole world is moving towards much cleaner ways of energy and u r getting coal, and that too at expensive rate, and then I told them if ports were such game changer, America would have been a 3rd world country and pak with its geo strategic position would have been super power, but it's the opposite, without hardwork and vision no body can help you unless you help ur selve, I haven't got any reply from any member yet.

This is a subverted country slave of its military. Civilian government does not have the freedom to exercise its foreign policy of india. Here army sets the agenda and their slave civilian government have to work to pursue that evil agenda. Chota Sharif is nothing less than a terrorist who has banned the country and prime minister. Their media is a gone case. I heard a discussion that in its operation, Mr sharif will be given the sunny leon's blood. I heard a discussion in which one idiot was saying that he told one US congress man that they are luck that they do not have the neighbor like india. This is a very dangerous nation and its idiocy has reached to a level where it can not think even welfare of herself. I have written this country off so as many people in this world including the leaders of world including Islamic countries. it is going to meet its logical end but we must take care that it should not harm india and world before it collapses.

This is hilarious as always. Pakistani diplomatic policy is directly proportional to India's. Their moto is "na aage badhenge na badhne denge".

For years they didn't have any ambitions for MTCR, UNSC, NSG etc. But the moment they saw India going for it, they want in too. A few over there are smart enough to realize that their is no way in hell that's going to happen. So what do they do? Try to BLOCK India from achieving its goals.

Ever seen a dog barking at a car? The dog doesn't even know what he will do once he "gets" the car. But he still barks and runs behind it. Eventually what happens? The car either runs over him or just speeds away and the dog keeps watching helplessly and finds another car to bark at. This is pakistan's situation and it perfectly describes it.

Furthermore, this happens (below) and then they cry hoarse about being victims. Pathetic !!

Why are jooo faaargetting the 80,000+ Pakis killed since WOT?

Pleej see below which simply proves that...

PAKISTAN is the biggest TERRORIST STATE in the world.

80,000+ Pakistanis killed in US 'War on Terror': report

At least 80,000 Pakistanis have been killed in the US-led War on Terror, a study conducted by a group of international physicians’ organisations revealed.

A report titled “Body Count: Casualty Figures after 10 Years of the ‘War on Terror” was released by the Nobel Prize-winning International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, along with Physicians for Social Responsibility and Physicians for Global Survival.

Below are the numbers of casualties in Pakistan from 2004 until the end of 2013.

Civilians: 48,504

Journalists: 45

Civilians killed by drones: 416 – 951

Pakistani security forces: 5,498

Militants: 26,862

Total : 81,325 – 81,860

The study concluded that around 1.3 million people were killed, both directly and indirectly, in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan as a result of US-led wars in the region in more than a decade.

The investigation scoured the results of individual studies and data published by United Nations organisations, government agencies and non-governmental organisations. It added that one million people were killed in Iraq and 220,000 in Afghanistan as a result of the war.

“The figure is approximately 10 times greater than that of which the public, experts and decision makers are aware,” the study’s authors write. “And this is only a conservative estimate. The total number of deaths in the three countries… could also be in excess of 2 million.”

Here comes the great report of MODI's visit to Mexico... Mexico Prez himself drives MODI to dinner  :clap2:

Mexico OKs India For Nuke Club NSG, President Drives PM Narendra Modi To Dinner

After Switzerland, Mexico has supported India's membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group or NSG, a 48-member club of nations that control trade in advanced nuclear technologies.

"Mexico recognizes India's interest in joining the Nuclear Suppliers Group...As a country we have a positive and constructive backing for this." Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said at his Los Pinos residence, after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.

Mexico supported India's membership because of PM Modi's "commitment to the agenda of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation," he added.

"I thank President Pena Nieto for his positive and constructive support for India's membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group," PM Modi said. He began his statement by saying "Muchas gracias, Senor Presidente! (Thank you, Mr President for your generous welcome)."

After their bilateral talks, the Mexican President personally drove his guest to a restaurant, foreign ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

Mexico's backing for India's NSG application represents a historic policy shift for the country, which has held a firm position on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation for decades.

Switzerland had earlier this week agreed to support India's bid for NSG membership made last month. PM Modi tacked on Switzerland and Mexico as extra stops on his tour to seek their support on joining the elite nuclear club.

India is also poised to join the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) after talks this week between PM Modi and US President Barack Obama in Washington.

Both groups would give India greater access to research and technology, but India´s accession to the NSG has so far been blocked by China, which has supported the application of Pakistan, despite questions over its proliferation record.

Pena Nieto's support today is a boost for PM Modi, but he must still win China's support to seal India's membership of the non-proliferation body, which will hold its annual meeting in South Korea this month.

PM Modi arrived in Mexico today from the US on the fifth and final leg of his five-nation tour. He is the first Prime Minister in 30 years to visit the country - Rajiv Gandhi had visited in 1986.
