China views Tibet through the prism off empire, domination, control, territory, colony, regimentation, submission and subjugation. Utterly repulsive, no matter what one says about geographical boundaries and political history.

India sees Tibet through the lense of people, freedom, democracy, culture and cultural influence, specifically Buddhist influence. India would like nothing more than a democratic, autonomous, self respecting Tibet that has close ties to India, but has free ties with other countries as well.

Huge difference.
