T-95 project has been shutdown, no point in this thread anymore. If any information comes upon this otherwise, ping the mods. Thread closed.
Let me explain what has happened if you didn't pick it up already. What we know, A) the Russian state has stopped funding of this project since last year and B) the Russian Army will not buy T-95 as long as Popovkin is running the show. From this article there are two nouns that need to be observed... Rosboronexport and Military Technical Cooperation. That means this private showing was for foreign investors to try to get this back up for export. Most likely countries that watched it were India and SKA representatives as we know that is who they have been pitching it to for years. It is a last ditch effort to revive it and the actions of Popovkin have more than just damaged the project, but literally killed it. No one wants to fund a Russian project that isn't backed by the state. The fact it wasn't publicly unveiled shows just how uncertain this last ditch effort is.here is the one of official source that T-95 is still alive and going ahead smoothly.
Some friends here say Russian Army Rejected it.I am personally waiting of Mr Vitaly Pics on MP.net..
Also If T-95 Inducted in Russian Army than it will bring catastrophic change in all future MBT projects..
Better not be!Some friends here say Russian Army Rejected it.
so its been showcased to Foreign Armies, one of them would be India.
I am also waiting to see it.
Weather IA buys it or not. I like to see how different it is from Traditional designs like T-72 and T-90.......!
There is a big difference between being completed for running around a tank course and an actual production model. The Black Eagle was ready to run around the course, but it was not even close to "completed." Russia withdrew from Objekt 195 not because it isn't a good idea, but for the fact they don't have the technology to make it modern. This meeting might have also included French industrialists to see if they would provide system components to make it so. The funding they were looking for to finish development is in the billions of dollars, someone else will have to bankroll it.@armand2rep.
may be you ae correct. may be the Army has abandonded it. But its still alive and almost completed. But project is thriving for Private orders.
here is a quote from a poster named "Damian" on the tanknet -i thought that project is being cancelled by Russia government.

My sources (Russian friends of a man that I know, and he is very well informed on Russian military issues etc.) say that there was no Object-195/T-95 shown on that closed exposition, only Object-188M/T-90M.

FWIW it seems the screening was for T-90M and they need funding for it too!!!! :happy_2:Posted 15 July 2010 - 1138 AM
The man I talking about claims that his Russian friends were in the closed part, and they didn't see famous Object-195.
