What @gadeshi explained makes sense. The Russian forces have been using the Mil-24/35 right from the beginning and they have been operating with almost impunity. The electronic countermeasures, which are there in the Russian versions, are absent in the export versions. The one that was shot down most likely is the export version. Regarding landing gear, it is true that keeping the landing gear extended helps absorb shock while crash-landing. This philosophy has been carried over to the Mil-28N, where the landing gear is never retracted.

Especially bearing in mind that Habibullin was not just a helo pilot. He was a squadron leader from Torzhok Center-2015 I've mentioned earlier, so he has a habit to extended gear before attack.
The second helo on this video is Mi-24/25 for sure. Mixed strike force in one pair? Very unlikely...

No. This is the first technical issue crash if you are right. The first one for thousands of combat sortiers. A fucking high reliability in my book. Americans have lost over 50 rotocrafts in Iraq as non-combat issues and they are fine...

Mi-35M differs from Mi-24 not by non-retracable gear, but by different main and stearing rotors, 2-barrelled GSh-23LT 23mm cannon instead of YaKB-12.7 4-barelled gatling-type machine gun (or GSh-2-30 30mm fixed cannon on Mi-24P), completely different avionics and external optics/pilot augmentors/targetting turrets.
Can we see those differences on your video? No.

And of course why to lie is a good question (I've discussed about it in a previous post)... It simply makes no sense.
