Report of the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides in the Syrian Arab Republic (May 2, 2016)
General information on the application of measures for the reconciliation of opposing sides
Within last 24 hours, truce agreements with representatives of 2 inhabited areas in the provinces of Aleppo and Damascus have been achieved.
The total number of settlements, the leaders of which had signed reconciliation agreements, has reached 87.
Negotiations on joining ceasefire regime have been held with a field commander of an armed opposition detachment active in the Homs province.
The number of ceasefire application forms signed with leaders of armed groupings has remained 52.
Results of ceasefire monitoring
In general, the ceasefire has been observed in most provinces of the Syrian Arab Republic. Within last 24 hours, 10 ceasefire violations have been registered (Latakia – 7, Aleppo – 3).
In Aleppo, militants of Ahrar al-Sham militants carried out mortar shelling againat Sheikh Maqsood, al-Halidiyah, and al-Suleimonia).
In northern regions of the Latakia province, Ahrar al-Sham formations carried out 7 mortar shellings against Qalaz Tahtani.
Russian Aerospace Forces and Syrian Air Force did not make strikes on opposition armed formations, which follow ceasefire regime and informed the Russian or American Centres for reconciliation about their location.
Humanitarian aid to the population of Syria
Bread bakery of Aleppo has received 800 kilograms of flour in prder to produce bread for eastern regions of the Homs province.
Humanitarian convoys to inhabited localities of the Hama and Homs inhabited areas are being formed.
Additional information
In the Latakia province, Jabhat al-Nusra formations continue mortar shelling against the government troops near Hara. Terrorists performed shelling against Handrat from Muhein Handrat.
“Silence regime” in Eastern Ghuta has been extended until 12 a.m. May 3 by Russian and American parties under agreement with the Syrian government and moderate opposition.
