3 Syrian Army tank divisions begin liberation of Idlib as Russian airstrikes continue to purge jihadist forces

BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army, backed up by Russian airpower, has commenced in earnest its operation to liberate the province of Idlib from jihadist-led militias, deploying massive force of arms.
Today morning, the Syrian Army’s 4th Mechanized Division, 8th Armored Division and 11th Armored division renewed offensive operations throughout southeast Idlib, striking in the direction of Abu Dali.
Supported by over twenty airstrikes from Russian warplanes, Syrian army forces advanced, liberating the town of Zahraa and capturing the nearby hilltop of Tal Zahraa.
At the present time, the Syrian Army has placed itself in a position to attack the town of Tal Khanzir, having gained fire control over it. The town is expected to be taken by army troops in the hours to come.
Should army forces liberate Tal Khanzir, then they be able to storm the town of Mushrifah which although taken yesterday, was re-captured by Al-Qaeda-linked fighters during a successful counter-attack.

Russia begins its limited withdrawal from Syria, military police battalion return home to Dagestan

MAKHACHKALA, Russia - The Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that a Russian military police batallion that were serving in Syria have returned to Russia to the Dagestani capital of Makhachkala in Russia's Caucasus region by two cargo planes.
"Since May 2017, the battalion’s personnel had fulfilled tasks on controlling the ceasefire implementation in the de-escalation zones, ensuring security of civilians during humanitarian efforts and escorting humanitarian convoys," the ministry said.
The military police have been in Syria since December 2016 with the task of ensuring security in the de-escalation zones.
They also ensured the delivery of aid to such areas.
