So how many have been produced so far now?
There was order of only 12 initially, right?

Order of 75 was placed earlier this year, currently they have only 10-12 plus the prototype.
They didn't order 75, that is a wrong figure quoted by you, the actual total number of Su-57 ordered by the RuAF is 76, and this order was placed way back before 2022, I believe the Russians placed the order in 2019.

Russian fighter shot down two helicopters and two more aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in two hours
Fighterbomber: Russian Su-35S shot down two helicopters and two more aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in two hours

A Russian Su-35S fighter shot down two helicopters and two more aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) in two hours. This was reported in the Fighterbomber Telegram channel.

The authors of the channel claim that what happened on Thursday, December 29, the event is unique "on the scale of military aviation in the world." The Russian fighter jet took down two helicopters and two planes of Ukraine in one flight. In addition, the entire flight took approximately two hours.

Fighterbomber writes that it is not yet known exactly which aircraft models the Su-35S destroyed. “It’s not clear about the aircraft: either the Su-24 and MiG-29, or the MiG-29 and Su-25,” the message says. At the same time, it is noted that a pair of Mi-8s were shot down from helicopters.

“It’s not surprising - the epic is that one Su-35S did it all in two hours, spending four missiles on all,” the authors of the channel concluded.

Earlier it became known that the Russian military destroyed two Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters in the DPR. The Ministry of Defense also reported that since the beginning of the special military operation, 196 helicopters belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been destroyed. In addition, air defense systems shot down six unmanned aerial vehicles, including three Strizh jet drones.

On December 21, Russian Aerospace Forces fighters destroyed a Su-25 attack aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an air battle. According to the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, this happened near the city of Krasnogorovka in the DPR. At the same time, he clarified that a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter was also shot down in the sky over Artemovsk.

The second Tu-160M bomber of new construction and the fourth modernized aircraft were rolled out

December 30th, 10:22 pm

PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC UAC) announced on December 30, 2022 that two regular Tu-160M strategic missile carriers developed by PJSC Tupolev (part of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec State Corporation) were transferred for flight tests. This is the first aircraft mass-produced under the Tu-160M reproduction program and a combat aircraft that has undergone a deep modernization.

Rolled out at the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ) named after S.P. Gobunov - a branch of Tupolev PJSC, the fourth model of the Tu-160 strategic bomber that has been upgraded to the level of Tu-160M. The remnants of the image of the flag of the Russian Air Force are visible on the bow, which was previously part of the coloring of the Tu-160 combat bombers. Kazan, December 2022 (c) United Aircraft Corporation PJSC.

The flight test station will carry out the necessary tests of aircraft systems and engines, as well as avionics. After that, the aircraft will be transferred to the operating organization.

“The Tu-160 is the most important part of the Russian nuclear triad, so the modernization of combat vehicles and the resumption of production of these strategic bombers is our priority task. The updated missile carriers surpass their predecessors in their characteristics, they received new on-board radio-electronic equipment, NK-32-02 engines and other systems. In the coming years, the production of these machines will increase,” said Sergey Chemezov, General Director of Rostec State Corporation.

From the side of bmpd, we point out that, in this way, as you can understand, at the Kazan Aviation Plant (KAZ) named after S.P. Gobunov, a branch of Tupolev PJSC in Kazan, the second Tu-160M strategic bomber of the new construction and the fourth model of the Tu-160 strategic bomber upgraded to the Tu-160M level were pumped out and transferred to the flight test station of the plant. Their first flights, apparently, have not yet taken place.

Recall that on January 25, 2018, the Ministry of Defense of Russia in the presence of the President of Russia V.V. Putin signed in Kazan with PJSC Tupolev a contract worth 160 billion rubles for the construction until 2027 of ten new Tu-160M bombers (also sometimes referred to as Tu-160M2). The first (experimental) Tu-160M bomber built under this contract (serial number 8-05) was made from a backlog left over from Soviet times and made its first flight in Kazan on January 12, 2022, still unpainted.

On December 30, 2022, the UAC issued a press release in which it announced that in December the next flight of the first newly manufactured prototype of the Tu-160M strategic missile carrier took place and that the factory test program was completed on the aircraft. “As part of the flight, maneuvers were performed to check the stability and controllability of the aircraft in the air, the performance of aircraft systems and engines, as well as on-board radio-electronic equipment.” Judging by the photographs circulated at the same time, the first built Tu-160M has already received almost full color.

Now it has been announced that the second Tu-160M aircraft built at KAZ under the contract in 2018 will be rolled out. This aircraft is believed to have serial number 9-01.

As for the program for upgrading the already manufactured Tu-160 bombers to the level of Tu-160M, the first prototype of the modernized Tu-160M strategic bomber was converted from a combat bomber with serial number 4-05 and the name "Igor Sikorsky", which previously had tail number "14 " and registration number RF-94103. The aircraft made its first flight after the completion of the re-equipment at the Kazan Aviation Plant on February 2, 2020. Then, new engines NK-32 series 02 (NK-32-02) were installed on the aircraft for testing, the first flight with which at the KAZ airfield was made on November 3, 2020. After the completion of the flight test phase, this aircraft flew on March 10, 2021 to continue testing from Kazan to the flight test and development base of Tupolev PJSC in Zhukovsky.

The second aircraft upgraded to the level of Tu-160M, apparently, was a bomber with serial number 4-01 and the name "Boris Veremey" (previously had tail number "09"). This aircraft with the new registration number RF-94444, immediately equipped with new NK-32 series 02 (NK-32-02) engines, began flight tests in September 2021.

The third aircraft upgraded to the Tu-160M level (serial number unknown) made its first flight in Kazan in December 2022. Now the fourth aircraft, which has completed the modernization to the level of the Tu-160M, has been rolled out. It is unpainted and its serial number is also unknown, however, the remnants of the image of the Russian Air Force flag, which previously adorned Tu-160 combat bombers, are visible on the nose. It is possible that one of these aircraft is a board with the name "Valentin Bliznyuk" (serial number 2-02, previously had tail number "19" and registration number RF-94113), which has been at KAZ since March 2016.

development code AWACS A-100

Initially, the A-100 was to be developed in 2014, then the deadline was postponed to 2017, then to 2020. Finally, in 2020, S. K. Shoigu encouraged that the A-100 would definitely be handed over in 2024. Now it is fashionable to use the term “time shift to the right” instead of the words “deadline”, which has already reached 10 years. There is no need to be surprised - the financial condition of the developer of the Vega concern is unenviable. The typical salary of an engineer is half the average in Moscow. The number of employees has decreased in comparison with Soviet times several times. So things may not be limited to 2024.

It was expected that the new radar would have a detection range of up to 600–650 km. This could be achieved through the use of AFAR technology, in which instead of one powerful transmitter and one receiver, thousands of low-power transceiver modules are placed over the entire surface of the antenna. This allows you to significantly increase the efficiency of the transmitter and improve its reliability. The noise immunity also increases. Initially, it was supposed to use fixed AFARs, but it turned out to be inconvenient to place them on the sides of the Il-76.

As a result, they decided to place 3 fixed AFARs in the "mushroom". Thus, the planned reduction in the mass of the radar was significantly reduced, and the opportunity to switch to a much more economical carrier (for example, the Tu-214) disappeared. The best carrier would be a specially designed drone with long AFAR along the sides, which would reduce the AWACS takeoff weight by 4 times with a corresponding reduction in fuel consumption. In addition, the need for careful protection of AWACS by fighters would disappear.

During development, a new idea unexpectedly arose: “In the United States, they began to mass-produce aircraft using Stealth technology. For example, 3,000 F-35 fighters can be produced. We need to take some action! After all, the visibility of "Stealth" is 10-50 times less than that of conventional aircraft. And accepted. They took advantage of the fact that the radar-absorbing coatings of Stealth aircraft most effectively absorb centimeter-range radio waves. Therefore, the visibility of the F-35 in the range of 10 cm, in which the Bumblebee radar operates, is an order of magnitude lower than the visibility of older fighters, such as the F-16. If the radar wavelength becomes more than 15–20 cm, then the absorption of radio waves by the coatings decreases, and the invisibility of the aircraft decreases.

There have been reports that the Premier radar will operate on two wavelengths. The lengths themselves were not indicated, but it is not difficult to guess that these are those that were already used for AWACS, namely 10 cm for detecting conventional targets and 70 cm for detecting Stealth aircraft. Judging by the photograph of the "mushroom", a rotating antenna was again placed in it (the time of one revolution is 10 s). Therefore, we decided to take one flat AFAR with a range of 10 cm and attach an antenna from the Kvant radar with a range of 70 cm to it from the back side. The result will be disastrous.

As mentioned above, the 70 cm radar differs only in its simplicity of design and lower weight, but its characteristics are much worse. Detection ranges cannot significantly exceed 300 km, and for Stealth aircraft 250 km. Instead of such dual-band difficulties, it was worth using the experience of Israel and taking one medium wavelength range - 23-25 cm. The invisibility of enemy aircraft in this range decreases, but good detection characteristics are still preserved.
