Russian civil aviation will completely switch to Russian aircraft. Russian airlines placed an order for the purchase of 500 new MS-21, SSJ, Il-114, Tu-214 and Il-96 aircraft. Russian aircraft factories will produce 186 new aircraft from 2029. Russian airlines will stop using Boeing and Airbus
I hope for their sake, they get it right. They have one chance to get this right. If they don't, their aviation industry will disappear overnight and will be fucked for decades. Their planes need to be very safe and efficient. That is all they need to be.

you need to see statistics, Russian civil aircraft are not unsafe, in fact check the statistics of accidents, you will see by sheer number western aircraft had more accidents but also higher production number when you adjust aircraft production number and accident rate Russian and western aircraft are similar.

Ilyushin Il-96 Statistics

Hull-losses:1
Hull-loss accidents:0with a total of 0 fatalities
Criminal occurences (hull-losses, excl. hijackings):0with a total of 0 fatalities
Hijackings:0with a total of 0 fatalities

Tupolev Tu-204 Statistics

Hull-losses:4
Hull-loss accidents:4with a total of 5 fatalities
Criminal occurences (hull-losses, excl. hijackings):0with a total of 0 fatalities
Hijackings:0with a total of 0 fatalities
Survival rate:37.5%of all occupants survived fatal accidents

Sukhoi Superjet 100 Statistics

Hull-losses:4
Hull-loss accidents:3with a total of 86 fatalities
Criminal occurences (hull-losses, excl. hijackings):0with a total of 0 fatalities
Hijackings:0with a total of 0 fatalities
Survival rate:30.1%of all occupants survived fatal accidents

Accidents by flight operation type
Flight operation type breakdown for 3 out of 4 hull-loss occurrences (flight nature for remaining losses is unknown, or the occurrence happened while the airplane was not in use.)

Boeing 737 Statistics

Hull-losses:231
Hull-loss accidents:212with a total of 4928 fatalities
Criminal occurences (hull-losses, excl. hijackings):8with a total of 525 fatalities
Hijackings:115with a total of 326 fatalities
Survival rate:35.8%of all occupants survived fatal accidents

However the main reason Russia/Soviet are not doing well is fuel/kilometer/passenger rate.

Il-96 or Tu-204 have excellent accident rate, however are expensive to operate.

Tu-154 is a very old aircraft this aircraft can not compete with newer A-320 or B-737s, that are twin engine aircraft.

So if you have old airframes and inefficient engines you get expensive aircraft to operate.

Russia`s main trouble is after the fall out of the Soviet Union the Russian industry was getting components imported from Ukraine, so the infrastructure that was once national it became foreign.

Add the break up reduced the Market and Antonov now was competing with Illyushin or Tupolev.

In 2022, Russia is capable again of fielding MS-21 to compete with B-737, and if PD-35 is succesful Russia will be able to make a new Antonov An-124 replacement and a Il-96 based competitor to B-777.

Pretty much the west knows that

The air base of the 831st tactical aviation brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Mirgorod, Poltava region, was destroyed by a precise strike of Kh-22 missiles.

According to Ukrainian sources, as a result of four strikes, there is serious damage, while the aircraft used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike with AGM-88A anti-radar missiles did not even save the special concrete shelters in which the aircraft were located.

It is known that Russian tactical air strikes were launched this afternoon, while a number of sources claim that during the attack, the air raid alarm was activated after the first strikes were delivered. This points to the fact that Ukraine not only cannot shoot down such missiles, but is also unable to detect them. This is primarily due to the fact that Kh-22 missiles are capable of reaching speeds of more than 4,000 km/h, which even NATO countries do not have air defense systems to counter.

At the moment, it remains unknown how many aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force were destroyed as a result of the strikes, however, before that, there was information that 4 MiG-29 fighters were modernized for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, capable of launching American cruise missiles AGM-88.

UAC has manufactured and handed over to the Russian Aerospace Forces a batch of new Su-35S aircraft.

The machines were manufactured at the Gagarin aircraft plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur (KnAAZ), which is part of the KLA. The new batch is completing the third contract with the Ministry of Defense for the supply of fighter jets to the Russian Aerospace Forces. The first batch of combat winged vehicles under this contract was delivered in the fall of 2021

The Su-35 fighter is the best Russian weapon in the air. Now it is equipped with new missiles, and its power has really increased!

Russian fighters are usually equipped with R-73 series short-range air-to-air missiles, R-27 series and R-77 medium-range air-to-air missiles. The newly developed R-37M missile entered service and was equipped with MiG-31 fighter-interceptors. It is a large-caliber, long-range air-to-air guided missile with a range of more than 200 kilometers. According to a video released by the Russian Defense Ministry on the 100th anniversary of the creation of the 929th State Flight Test Center, a Su-35 fighter also recently conducted launch tests of this missile.
Compared to air-to-air missiles of the R-27 and R-77 medium-range series, the R-37M (aka RVV-BD in the export version or product 620) is much larger, its length is about 4.1 meters, diameter - 0.38 meters, wingspan 0.72 meters, weight reaches 510 kilograms, and the weight of the warhead is about 60 kilograms.
Previously, the longest-range air-to-air missile was the American AIM-54 Phoenix, with a range of about 184 kilometers, but it was completely withdrawn from service in 2004. The most powerful and longest-range missile currently handed over to the US Army is the AIM-120C air-to-air missile. However, its range is only one hundred kilometers, so the United States lags behind Russia in this area.

The R-37M is equipped with a dual-mode solid-propellant rocket engine, and the combined guidance system consists of an inertial one with radio correction for satellite navigation and active radar homing in the final part of the trajectory. It is assumed that the R-37M long-range air-to-air missile will be used mainly to destroy large enemy aircraft, such as early warning aircraft, tanker aircraft, reconnaissance and command aircraft and similar special military aircraft. Equipping the Su-35 fighter with this missile can significantly increase its combat capability over long distances in the air.
It is reported that the technical characteristics of the R-37M will continue to improve, and the most important feature of this missile is the increase in flight range up to 300 kilometers. In addition, its upgraded version will also focus on adding an electronic warfare function. Even with electromagnetic interference and suppression by the enemy, the projectile will be able to confidently move along a given trajectory until it hits the target.

Isn't Su-57 suppose to be the best Russian fighter ever built?

In the Sukhoi Stavka area, the reconnaissance company of the special operations forces of the Ukrainian Navy was almost completely destroyed

In the Nikolaev-Kryvyi Rih direction, a reconnaissance company of the 73rd Marine Center of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of Ukraine, specially deployed to this area, was ambushed by Russian troops. The clash occurred in the Sukhoi Stavka area.

According to available information, the reconnaissance company of the 73rd Marine Center of the SOF of Ukraine was transferred to the combat area from the military base in Ochakiv. The task of the Ukrainian naval special forces was to conduct reconnaissance of the positions of the Russian army in the area of \u200b\u200bthe settlement of Sukhoi Stavok in the Kherson direction, where fierce battles were going on in early September.

The reconnaissance moved in the direction of the Russian positions, but was discovered. According to the TG channel Military Chronicle, ours spotted the enemy with the help of the Ironia optical-electronic surveillance complex, capable of detecting a person at a distance of 3 km, and equipment - 7 km. The Russian military organized an ambush, where a company of naval special forces of the Ukrainian Navy ended up.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian special forces tried to get out of the fire bag, arranged by ours, and even found some kind of shelter near the road 2 km from Sukhoi Headquarters. Ukrainian paratroopers from the 46th ODSHB tried to cover them, but Russian front-line bombers SU-34 arrived in this direction, which bombed the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with FAB-250 and FAB-500 unguided bombs. This led to the retreat of reinforcements from the 46th OSHB, leaving the naval special forces one on one with ours.

As a result, the enemy lost several infantry fighting vehicles and up to 120 military personnel, mainly from the 73rd MTR Naval Center.

The 73rd MTR Marine Center trained naval saboteurs, combat swimmers, etc., but since 2014, the center’s fighters have been operating mainly on land. The command attracts fighters to conduct reconnaissance activities. The same task was supposed to be carried out in the Kherson direction, but the ambush and the actions of the Russian military put an end to the future career of most of the naval special forces of the Ukrainian Navy.

As PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC UAC, part of the Rostec State Corporation) reported on September 10, 2022, the Yu.A. Gagarin in Komsomolsk-on-Amur manufactured and handed over to the Russian Aerospace Forces a batch of new Su-35S aircraft. The planes flew from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to the home airfield. These 4++ generation fighters, built at KnAAZ, are completing the third contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense for delivery to the Russian Aerospace Forces. The first batch of combat winged vehicles was delivered in the fall of 2021.

The Su-35S fighters (blue tail numbers "02" and "03") handed over to the Russian Aerospace Forces, built under the 2022 program of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yu.A. Gagarin (KnAAZ) - a branch of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation. Komsomolsk-on-Amur, 09/09/2022 (c) frame from the video of United Aircraft Corporation PJSC

(Collapse)

In a press release from PJSC "UAC" it is reported that the Su-35S of the latest series were accepted by the technical staff, passed factory tests at the branch of PJSC "UAC" "Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after. Yu.A. Gagarin (KnAAZ). Each aircraft was tested in the air in various operating modes.

"The Su-35S is our key product today," said the director of the branch of PJSC "UAC" KnAAZ named after. Yu.A. Gagarina Alexander Pekarsh. - This is one of the best aircraft in the world. It has great potential, and its construction at our plant will continue in the future.”

In 2022, the plant will also hand over the first Su-35S vehicles to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation under the next, fourth contract. At the same time, the supply of fifth-generation Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces will continue this year. The machines of the 2022 plan are already being tested at the plant's flight test station.

bmpd's comment. Judging by the video circulated by the UAC, the Russian Aerospace Forces (judging by the date of the video - September 9) were delivered three new Su-35S fighters built by KnAAZ with blue tail numbers "01", "02" and "03". According to the UAC, these are the final aircraft under the new (third) contract with the UAC for the supply of Su-35S fighters concluded on August 25, 2020 during the Army-2020 International Military-Technical Forum by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to available information, in 2021, KnAAZ handed over the first five Su-35S fighters to Russia under this contract, and thus, the entire contract for 2020 included only eight aircraft (previously it was reported that this contract included 30 Su-35S aircraft, however, apparently , the rest of the aircraft switched to a new contract).

It is reliably known about the transfer of the first three Su-35S fighters built in 2021 under this contract to the Russian Aerospace Forces - aircraft with red tail numbers "58", "59" and "60". On December 13, 2021, they entered the 4th Order of Lenin of the Red Banner Center for Military Testing and Training of Personnel of the VKS named after V.P. Chkalov of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation at the Lipetsk airfield. At the same time, the serial numbers of these three Su-35S, which are unusually large for Lipetsk, can only indicate the temporary transfer of these aircraft to Lipetsk, with subsequent redirection to one of the linear fighter regiments.

Two more aircraft, presumably, were handed over to KnAAZ at the very end of 2021 and were transferred to the troops after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

Earlier, under two previous contracts in 2009 and 2015, the Russian Aerospace Forces received 98 serial Su-35S aircraft from 2012 to 2020, two of which have now been decommissioned or lost by early 2022. Thus, the total number of serial Su-35S received by the Russian Ministry of Defense should now reach 106.

The fourth contract for the supply of Su-35S, announced by the UAC, may include 22 aircraft for delivery by 2024. According to previously released information, in 2022 KnAAZ should hand over seven Su-35S fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces - three of them, which have now been handed over, have become the final ones under the 2020 contract.

UPD: As reported on September 10 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, three of these new Su-35S fighters built in 2022 with blue tail numbers "01", "02" and "03" entered the 116th Combat Training Center of the 185th Center for combat training and combat use of fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces at the Privolzhsky airfield in the Astrakhan region. They became the first Su-35S aircraft in this Center.

The Su-35S fighters (blue tail numbers "01", "02" and "03") handed over to the Russian Aerospace Forces, built according to the 2022 program of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yu.A. Gagarin (KnAAZ) - a branch of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation. The registration numbers on the keels are retouched. Heavy attack drone "Sirius" tested with various weapons

The heavy reconnaissance and strike drone Sirius, developed by the Russian company Kronstadt, is capable of carrying both guided and unguided munitions. This was reported by a source in the Russian defense industry.

1663288269660.png

As part of the test program "Sirius" started flying. The drone has already been tested for interaction with manned aircraft, ground systems, as well as with and without various weapons. It is not yet known how long the tests will last, but the military wanted to receive serial samples of the Sirius from 2023. The need for such drones was shown by a special operation in Ukraine, ours are in dire need of strike UAVs.

New Sirius reconnaissance and strike drones will be able to carry a payload in the form of guided and unguided bombs and missiles, as well as an optoelectronic system

- TASS quotes the words of the source.

The Sirius attack drone is a heavier variant of the Orion with satellite control and the ability to interact with manned aircraft. Due to the equipping with two engines "Sirius" has a greater range and greater payload. Refers to medium-altitude long-range drones. Structurally, it is an aircraft of a normal aerodynamic configuration with a thin fuselage, a large-span straight wing and a V-shaped plumage. The power plant includes two turboprop engines.

Wingspan - 23 m, length - up to 9 m. Maximum takeoff weight - 2 - 2.5 tons (tentatively), of which 1 ton is fuel. Payload - 450 kg (on an external sling - 300 kg). Flight altitude - 7 thousand meters, cruising speed - 180 km / h.

Rare clip of Russian Sukhoi Su-34 dropping bombs on Ukrainian positions. Due to Ukrainian air defenses, Russian fighters been launching missiles at a distance. The Su-34 'Fullback' can surge to around twice the speed of sound at high altitudes. Su-34 can withstand maneuvers exerting more than nine times the force of gravity. A maximum speed of around 1,900km/h and 4,500km ferry range (with external fuel).
