August 25, 2022, AviaStat.ru – The first helicopter-type drone has been certified in Russia, it was the BVS VT 440 developed by the Radar MMS Research and Production Enterprise, Executive Director of the enterprise Ivan Antsev told RIA Novosti at the recent Army-2022 forum .

"BVS VT 440 is the first unmanned helicopter in Russia, which is certified under the experimental legal regime in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Air Transport Agency. It received a tail number and performs tasks in the interests of the Russian Federation. Certification was passed in May this year. In Russia, no one has yet has not yet been certified, we became the first," Antsev said.

The payload of the drone is 100 kilograms, while the total takeoff weight is 440 kilograms (hence its name), cruising speed is 150 kilometers per hour, and it can stay in the air for up to four hours. In addition to delivering cargo, the helicopter can perform monitoring tasks or conduct geological exploration.

Now the company is focusing on the transition to mass production of such machines, it has all the possibilities, said Antsev.

"We have all the stands - propulsion, moving, climatic, anechoic chambers, where everything is tested. Moreover, we have our own flight test complex, which allows us to test these devices experimentally and, of course, certify them in the legal field that is being created today for drones," he concluded.

Two more Su-25 attack aircraft: Ukraine continues to lose combat aircraft

The Ukrainian Air Force continues to lose combat aircraft, two more Su-25 attack aircraft were shot down by Russian air defense systems during the "counteroffensive" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In Kyiv itself, the loss of aircraft is not confirmed, judging by the reports of Ukrainian resources, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already "capturing" Kherson.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost four Su-25 attack aircraft in two days, three of them were shot down in the southern direction, where the main events are now developing. Russian pilots did a good job yesterday, shooting down Ukrainian planes in air battles, today anti-aircraft gunners did their best. According to the report of the Ministry of Defense, both Su-25s were shot down in the area of \u200b\u200bthe settlement of Krasnoe Znamya, Mykolaiv region. The military department has traditionally limited itself to this.

More detailed information was provided by Russian TG channels covering the special operation. As it turned out, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine abandoned aviation to cover the offensive actions of Ukrainian units from Posad-Pokrovsky to Pravdino and Kherson. If the ground part of the offensive continued with an exchange of blows, then the Ukrainian "Rooks" flew off by Monday afternoon. Both were shot down by air defenses.

As already noted, the loss of aircraft almost with absolute probability means the death of pilots, since aviation operates at low altitudes, fearing being hit by anti-aircraft weapons. Low altitude not only sometimes does not save from air defense, but also does not allow the parachute to open after ejection. So the Ukrainian Air Force can also write down the loss of four pilots in two days, which are already lacking.

The day before, information appeared that the United States intends to replenish the staff of the Ukrainian Air Force with Afghan pilots who have been retrained for Soviet fighters and attack aircraft. According to experts, this is a waste of money, nothing will come of it.

The RF Armed Forces strike at targets identified as a result of an unsuccessful offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Nikolaev and the region
Yesterday, 15:08
58

It is reported about a new series of attacks on positions and objects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Nikolaev and the region.

Against the backdrop of an attempted counteroffensive, during which the Ukrainian troops lost in total about the same amount as on the same days 8 years ago in the Ilovaisk “cauldron” (about 1200 people), another remarkable thing happened. Taking into account the fact that both the process of preparing Ukrainian troops for a counterattack, and the advancement of units from Nikolaev and Krivoy Rog, were controlled by Russian troops, which carried out total monitoring, it was possible to identify the places where the Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed an arsenal of means for a counteroffensive. Among other things, such places were identified in Nikolaev, where the rockets flew.

In the area for an hour in a row, air raid alarms are heard. The missiles exploded at storage facilities for armored vehicles supplied by Western sponsors of the Kyiv regime.

Recall that Ukrainian troops lost up to 60 armored vehicles in three directions of the counterattack the day before. As a result of today's strikes, several more tanks and wheeled armored vehicles were burned and disabled, which were being prepared in order to “develop the success” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with “further advancement in a southerly direction”.

At the moment, the Ukrainian leadership and military command did not find the courage to acknowledge the large losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the “attack on Kherson”. But, as they say, everything has its time. 8 years ago, Ukrainian politicians and generals also did not recognize the defeat of the AFU grouping near Ilovaisk, declaring "withdrawal to pre-prepared positions." However, over time, the truth reached the population of Ukraine, and on this basis, Kyiv is still trying to look for those responsible for that defeat. Now they will start looking for the perpetrators and a new defeat - already in the Kherson and Nikolaev regions.

The third military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A built this year has started flight tests
Yesterday, 15:52

The Il-76MD-90A heavy military transport aircraft of the new assembly, assembled on the production line of Aviastar-SP JSC in Ulyanovsk, has started flight tests. This is the third new-build aircraft to begin flight testing this year.

1662327995649.png

The new military transport Il-76MD-90A appeared at the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny airfield on August 26, 2022, and made its first flight on August 28. How long the tests will last and when the aircraft will be handed over to the military is not yet reported, it has yet to return to the paint shops. The aircraft is the 12th Il-76MD-90A, built in Ulyanovsk under a contract in 2012 with the Ministry of Defense for 39 units, and the third to take off this year. The first Il-76MD-90A built in 2022 was handed over to the military on April 22, 2022. The second Il-76MD-90A made its first flight on June 7 and is still being tested.

All transporters of the new assembly are built on a new production line, which was put into operation at the aircraft plant in 2019. The first two Il-76MD-90As assembled on the line were handed over to the Russian Aerospace Forces last year. Now there are several aircraft on the line at various stages of assembly.

In total, the Russian Ministry of Defense planned to purchase over 100 Il-76MD-90A and the promising Il-78MD-90A tankers created on their basis by 2030, but no one knows how it will actually be. Despite the measures taken, it is not possible to increase the number of aircraft produced.

The Il-76MD-90A heavy military transport aircraft is a deep modernization of the Il-76MD aircraft. The new Il-76MD-90A, unlike the combatant Il-76MD, are equipped with PS-90A-76 engines with a thrust of up to 14.5 tons instead of the "regular" D-30KP2 with a thrust of up to 12 tons. The aircraft received a new wing and a "glass" cockpit: the pointer instruments were replaced with instruments with LCD displays. The Il-76MD-90A has increased its carrying capacity to 60 tons and the range of delivery of troops and cargo to 5,000 km.

Iranian Air Force commander: The issue of the purchase of Russian Su-35 fighters will be resolved in the near future
Yesterday, 13:45
139

Iran does not refuse to purchase Su-35 multifunctional fighters from Russia, the deal is on the agenda, but the final decision on this has not yet been made. This was stated by the commander of the Iranian Air Force, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi.

As of today, Iran is not considering purchasing Su-30SM fighters from Russia, which has been repeatedly stated earlier, the priority is the purchase of multifunctional Su-35 fighters. This issue is under consideration and should be resolved in the near future, but at the moment there is no final decision.

This issue is on the agenda, and I hope we will be able to get these 4++ generation fighters in the future (...) the final decision on the purchase of Su-35 fighters in Russia remains with the command of the Army and the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces

Vahedi said.

The fact that Tehran intends to purchase an "Egyptian" batch of Su-35 fighters from Russia was discussed at the end of last year. Egypt, for which the planes were made, was forced to withdraw from the deal under pressure from the United States, and the fate of the fighters "hung in the air." Iran turned up just in time, which desperately needs a plane capable of withstanding the Israeli F-35I Adir, which, after modernization, received the opportunity to fly to Iran without refueling. According to Western experts, it is the Su-35 that is the only fighter capable of fighting the American F-35s. Therefore, now on the agenda of the Iranian Air Force is the purchase of the Su-35, and not the Su-30SM, which are much cheaper.

In early August, it was reported that Tehran allegedly signed a contract for Russian Su-35s back in July during a visit to Iran by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Then there was evidence that Russia had exchanged with Iran according to the scheme: "fighters for drones." But there were no confirmations or denials from either Moscow or Tehran. Judging by the statement of the commander of the Iranian Air Force, the deal has not yet taken place.

In a summary, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced 40 sorties of Ukrainian aviation per day
September 3, 2022
5

Over the past day, the aircraft of the Air Force of Ukraine made more than 40 sorties to support the actions of the units of the Ground Forces. On September 3, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this in its operational summary.

The report states that in the process of carrying out air missions, several enemy command posts and an ammunition depot were destroyed. In what directions this happened is not reported, as well as other details.

Based on scarce data, it can be assumed that in this case we are talking about manned (airplanes and helicopters) aviation. Note that the Air Force of Ukraine is regularly replenished with Soviet-made aircraft supplied from Western countries. For example, in August, Latvia handed over to Kyiv 4 helicopters, two Mi-17 and Mi-2 each, and North Macedonia - 4 Su-25 attack aircraft. Moreover, Slovakia is going to send 11-12 MiG-29 fighters to support Ukraine in the near future.

In July, it became known that Bulgaria was secretly, i. through third countries, and not directly, transferred to Kyiv a certain number of Su-25 attack aircraft. In total, Sofia had 14 units of such aircraft. At the same time, the Czech Republic delivered Mi-24 helicopters to Ukraine, without specifying the number.

In May, Poland transferred almost its entire stock of spare parts for the MiG-29 and 100 R-73 air-to-air missiles to Ukraine. At the same time, it recently turned out that some of the Ukrainian MiG-29s have been upgraded and now they can use American AGM-88 HARM high-speed anti-radar missiles. In turn, the United States supplied Ukraine with 3 Mi-17 helicopters out of the promised 16 Mi-17 and Mi-8 units in different versions, which were intended for Afghanistan.

In addition, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine separately drew attention in its report to the combat work of Turkish-made UAVs. This suggests that another batch of these drones from Turkey was brought to Ukraine.

The Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle launched a missile strike, which blew up ammunition and destroyed 2 enemy armored vehicles along with their crews

- unsubstantiated asserted in the publication.

Note that the Russian Ministry of Defense informed in its summary on that day
about the destruction of a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet converted to use American AGM-88 HARM missiles in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and two Su-25 attack aircraft and one Bayraktar TB2 UAV of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Kherson region.

Russian paratroopers complete the destruction of the "Andreevsky bridgehead" on the southern bank of the Ingulets
Yesterday, 15:08
95

Despite the ongoing attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to counterattack in certain areas of the Nikolaev-Kryvyi Rih direction, the offensive of the Ukrainian army basically bogged down. The last reserves, brought into action over the past day, have not corrected the situation. This is reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

1662371815184.png

According to unofficial information received directly from the front line, the Andreevsky bridgehead of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will soon cease to exist, Russian paratroopers, with the support of artillery and aviation, are finishing off units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that crossed to the right (southern) bank of the Ingulets. This is mainly infantry, reserves of armored vehicles, pulled up to the area of the settlement. Bereznegovatoe has already run out. During the night, aviation and artillery worked along the Ternovka-Lozovoe-Kostromka triangle. By morning, Kostroma was cleared out, Sukhoi Stavok was plowed up. If the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not bring up some more reserves, then the foothold will end.

According to official data, over the past day, the enemy lost more than 150 servicemen in this direction, which is not so much compared to other days of the "counteroffensive". The appearance in the combat zone of the American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles was noted, although the supply of this vehicle was not reported. Meanwhile, the military claims the destruction of four American infantry fighting vehicles among 17 others. In addition, 11 tanks, 10 armored cars and 5 pickup trucks with machine guns can be written down as a minus for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the Romanovka area, a Su-25 attack aircraft was shot down, our pilots distinguished themselves.

One of the two Su-25 combat aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force shot down on Wednesday over the territory of eastern Ukraine could have been fired by an air-to-air missile from a Russian fighter, Ukrainian authorities believe.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated this in an interview with the BBC. “Presumably, the second fighter was shot down by an air-to-air missile. This means that it was shot down by another fighter, which was definitely not Ukrainian,” he said.

American press: Swedish 4th generation fighter JAS 39 Gripen could fight on equal terms with the best Russian aircraft
Yesterday, 15:53
49

The American publication 19FortyFive published an article in which columnist Harrison Kass expressed the opinion that the Swedish fourth-generation fighter JAS 39 Gripen is in no way inferior (literally) to the "best Russian aircraft" and could fight them on equal terms in a hypothetical battle.

The author emphasizes that, as he puts it, the “maddening” Russian fighter is capable of accelerating to Mach 2, taking off from short runways and carrying a greater load than previous Swedish aircraft. He became a successful replacement for Draken and Viggen. At the same time, Kass does not specify who exactly in Russia the Swedish fighter managed to drive crazy ...

It is worth noting that the JAS 39 Gripen is indeed a worthy combat aircraft. Made according to the "duck" aerodynamic scheme, the "Griffin" has a reduced radar visibility due to the hull, 30% made of composites.

However, regarding the ability to fight the best Russian aircraft, the author is clearly disingenuous.

Here it would be nice to understand what kind of “best” aircraft are in question. It is unlikely that Kass compared the 4th generation JAS 39 Gripen with the latest 5th generation Su-57.

If we are talking about winged vehicles that are closer in class, then a comparison with our multi-purpose Su-35 suggests itself.

One of the notable characteristics of the Griffin, the author of the article called the maximum speed, which is Mach 2. At the same time, the Su-35 is capable of accelerating up to Mach 2.3.

In addition, the practical ceiling of the JAS 39 Gripen is 15.2 km, while our Su-35 is capable of flying at a maximum altitude of 20 km.

It also surpasses the Russian fighter of its Swedish counterpart in terms of the range of weapons.

However, the main advantage in a hypothetical battle for our Su-35 will be the presence of the N035 Irbis phased array radar, capable of detecting targets at a maximum distance of up to 400 km on a collision course and up to 150 km on a catch-up.

However, summing up his reasoning, the American expert added that the likelihood of a combat clash between Russian and Swedish fighters is small, since the countries are unlikely to enter into an open conflict.

Russia's defense industry is trying to oust competitors from the Azerbaijani market: Arms exhibition ADEX-2022 opens in Baku
Yesterday, 14:26
fifteen

The IV International Arms Exhibition ADEX-2022 has opened at Baku Expo Center. About 200 defense companies representing 32 states of the world participate in it.

This is reported by the Vestnik Kavkaza agency.

Belarus, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey and other countries will participate with their national stands

the organizers say.

As expected, the exhibition presents a large number of products of the enterprises of the host of the event - Azerbaijan. This country demonstrates its armored vehicles, electronic equipment, equipment for aviation and navy, as well as other samples of domestic production.

The exposition of the Russian Federation is represented by Rosoboronexport. It stands out for its richness and diversity, as the Russian defense industry is trying to squeeze out competitors from the Azerbaijani market, which have become too numerous in recent years. This is especially true of Western arms manufacturers and Israel.

As the head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, told the agency, Russia is demonstrating about 500 exhibits at the exhibition, including the latest designs.

Among the demonstrated equipment, one can single out the Il-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft, the Su-35 fighter, Ka-52(E), and Mi-35M helicopters, as well as many interesting examples of artillery systems and armored vehicles. Also, significant emphasis is placed on air defense systems.

According to Alexander Artamonov, a military expert and host of the Control Shot program, great attention will be riveted to our exposition.

Russia has a traditional trump card on the arms market - cheapness relative to Western systems and ease of maintenance
1662503203629.png

- says the expert.

The ADEX-2022 exhibition will run from today to September 8th.

The flight program is always the most spectacular performance of any event involving aviation. In this photo essay you can see the performance of the Russian Knights aerobatics team.
Traditionally, over the Kubinka airfield, where the aviation cluster of the International Military-Technical Forum "ARMY-2022" is located, a demonstration of flight equipment was held in the air. One of the most spectacular elements of the flight program was the performance of the Russian Knights aerobatics team on Su-35 multirole fighters.

However, not only aerobatics on powerful combat jets can fascinate. The next photo essay will be devoted to the performance of the famous pilot Svetlana Kapanina.

Russian Su-25, participating in the repulse of the Ukrainian counter-offensive near Balakleya, was attacked from MANPADS

Russian Su-25, participating in the repulse of the Ukrainian counter-offensive near Balakleya, was attacked from MANPADS

As stated on the Internet resources of users from Ukraine, the Russian Su-25 attack aircraft, participating in the reflection of the Ukrainian counteroffensive near Balakliya, Kharkov region, was attacked from MANPADS. They claim that the attack was carried out on a pair of aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the area of the settlement of Volokhov Yar.

This was reported in the Telegram channel "Operation Z. Military commissars of the Russian Spring."

Ukrainian sources claim that the shot from the portable anti-aircraft complex was successful, and the attack aircraft was knocked out. The pilot himself survived, ejected, he was evacuated from the landing site.

The military correspondents also report that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not only repelled by the allied forces, but also a counter-attack is delivered from their side in the Shevchenkovsky direction. At night, reinforcements were collected and sent to meet the advancing Ukrainian troops, who managed to block Balakliya and move forward. The redeployed reserve units of the allied forces immediately entered into battle with the enemy.

Earlier in the "Military Review" it was said that the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction could be in vain if the Russian army and its allies launch an attack on the regional center itself and, possibly, even enter Kharkov itself.

At the moment, the Ukrainian military is trying to take active offensive actions simultaneously in several directions. At the same time, they do not achieve noticeable results, but they suffer significant losses.

The Su-35 fighter is the best Russian weapon in the air. Now it is equipped with new missiles, and its power has really increased!

Russian fighters are usually equipped with R-73 series short-range air-to-air missiles, R-27 series and R-77 medium-range air-to-air missiles. The newly developed R-37M missile entered service and was equipped with MiG-31 fighter-interceptors. It is a large-caliber, long-range air-to-air guided missile with a range of more than 200 kilometers. According to a video released by the Russian Defense Ministry on the 100th anniversary of the creation of the 929th State Flight Test Center, a Su-35 fighter also recently conducted launch tests of this missile.
Compared to air-to-air missiles of the R-27 and R-77 medium-range series, the R-37M (aka RVV-BD in the export version or product 620) is much larger, its length is about 4.1 meters, diameter - 0.38 meters, wingspan 0.72 meters, weight reaches 510 kilograms, and the weight of the warhead is about 60 kilograms.
Previously, the longest-range air-to-air missile was the American AIM-54 Phoenix, with a range of about 184 kilometers, but it was completely withdrawn from service in 2004. The most powerful and longest-range missile currently handed over to the US Army is the AIM-120C air-to-air missile. However, its range is only one hundred kilometers, so the United States lags behind Russia in this area.

The R-37M is equipped with a dual-mode solid-propellant rocket engine, and the combined guidance system consists of an inertial one with radio correction for satellite navigation and active radar homing in the final part of the trajectory. It is assumed that the R-37M long-range air-to-air missile will be used mainly to destroy large enemy aircraft, such as early warning aircraft, tanker aircraft, reconnaissance and command aircraft and similar special military aircraft. Equipping the Su-35 fighter with this missile can significantly increase its combat capability over long distances in the air.
It is reported that the technical characteristics of the R-37M will continue to improve, and the most important feature of this missile is the increase in flight range up to 300 kilometers. In addition, its upgraded version will also focus on adding an electronic warfare function. Even with electromagnetic interference and suppression by the enemy, the projectile will be able to confidently move along a given trajectory until it hits the target.
