The Russian military-industrial complex has officially confirmed the use of the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jets by the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine. Moreover, the involvement of these aircraft began at the earliest stages of a special operation.

Aircraft operate outside the zone of active destruction by enemy air defense systems, using missile weapons

– the interlocutor of the agency in the defense industry informed TASS.

Meanwhile, the reporter wrote about the use of Su-57 by Russia in Ukraine on March 10th. Then the fifth-generation Russian fighter attacked targets in the Zhytomyr region from a low altitude. The corresponding video appeared on the web.

For the first time, Su-57s took part in hostilities in 2018 in Syria. Until the end of 2024, the troops will be able to have 22 aircraft out of 76 previously ordered, the rest of the combat vehicles will be delivered before 2028.

The maximum speed of the Su-57 reaches Mach 2.45, with two external fuel tanks the aircraft can cover a distance of up to 5.5 thousand km.

In addition, the fighter is equipped with a radar-absorbing coating and the latest avionics systems.

MOSCOW, May 18 - RIA Novosti. The fifth-generation Checkmate light fighter will be mass-produced in Russia from 2027, Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov said Wednesday at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
The first flight model should be created at the turn of 2023-2024.

Checkmate topped the rating of export samples of Russian weapons
"We plan to start producing it in series in 2027," Chemezov said.
According to him, the aircraft is being created at the corporation's own expense, without attracting budget money.
Checkmate is Russia's first single-engine aircraft of the fifth generation, created by the Sukhoi company (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec). The fighter was presented in July 2021 at the MAKS-2021 aerospace show.
The key features of the machine are stealth, low cost per flight hour, open architecture and high performance in terms of cost-effectiveness.

American edition: Russians are afraid of losing the latest Su-57 fighter over Ukraine
Yesterday, 09:53
102

Ukrainian air defense still poses a real threat to Russian aviation, as evidenced by reports that fifth-generation Su-57 fighters are operating in Ukraine outside its zone of operation. This is written by the American edition of The Drive.

The author of an article published in this edition was skeptical about the news that appeared in the Russian media earlier that Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighters are participating in a special military operation of the Russian army in Ukraine. In his opinion, there is no evidence of this, and a video that appeared in March, showing the latest Russian aircraft allegedly flying over Ukraine, is too poor quality to be confirmed.

At the same time, the author of the publication admits that the Russian military could send the Su-57 to Ukraine to conduct tests in "combat conditions." At the same time, he draws attention to the fact that the Russian fighter is flying outside the Ukrainian air defense zone. This indicates that the Russians are afraid of losing at least one Su-57 over Ukraine, because it will "strongly hit the aircraft's reputation."

(...) the potential loss will not only provide Ukraine with huge PR, but will again cast doubt on the alleged stealth characteristics of the aircraft. Even losing a Su-57 over Ukraine to a technical or mechanical problem would be especially embarrassing.

writes The Drive.

Earlier, a source in the Russian defense industry reported that the Su-57 fighter is also used in Ukraine as part of a special military operation, although the main fighters are still the Su-35 and Su-30SM. It was they who established control over the airspace of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the combat work of Ka-52 attack helicopters as part of a special military operation

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation continues to publish a video about a special military operation in Ukraine, this time the military showed footage of the combat operation of Ka-52 attack helicopters. The video was posted on the official

1653256339011.png

The video shows the preparation of Russian helicopters for a sortie, the sortie itself and strikes against the discovered military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and camouflaged enemy positions. In general, as stated in the description of the video, the daily combat work of the crews of Ka-52 attack helicopters is shown.

During one of the sorties, military equipment and disguised positions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were discovered. Air strikes destroyed a column of equipment and positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the use of unguided aircraft missiles

- reported in the Ministry of Defense.

It should be noted that the military once again showed a sortie of Ka-52 attack helicopters, there are quite a few videos with the participation of the Mi-28N on the Web, although these helicopters are also involved in a special operation. However, recently the Ministry of Defense admitted that the main helicopter of the SVO is the Ka-52. The choice of this particular machine is connected with its tactical and technical characteristics, the helicopter is very reliable and maneuverable.

As the Ministry of Defense has repeatedly reported, army aviation is quite actively used as part of a special operation. Helicopters not only escort columns and deliver cargo, but also destroy enemy armored vehicles, land troops, and even participate in "free hunting" at night. True, information about this ceased to fall into military reports, apparently it was classified.

Groups of "night hunters" consist of several attack helicopters Ka-52 and Mi-28N, which are engaged in the search for and destruction of military infrastructure and armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As practice has shown, such sorties are highly effective, during the night the group destroys several units of armored vehicles, air defense systems or MLRS, gradually depriving Ukrainian nationalists of heavy weapons.

The Ukrainian military began to complain about the "disappearing" reconnaissance drones
Yesterday, 08:27
88

Ukrainian reconnaissance drones, which had plagued the allied forces during the offensive, began to "disappear". According to Ukrainian publics, recently the Ukrainian military has increasingly begun to complain about the impossibility of conducting aerial reconnaissance using UAVs in the areas of offensive of the units of the NM of the Republics of Donbass.

A number of Ukrainian TG channels publish complaints from the Ukrainian military about the too frequent loss of reconnaissance drones, and not only simple ones, i.e. civilian purposes, converted to military needs, but also military ones, i.e. specially designed for reconnaissance. This is attributed to the receipt by the allied forces of the appropriate equipment, which was previously only in service with the Russian troops.

As previously reported, a group of Russian troops with a total number of 100,000 military personnel, maybe a little more, is participating in a special military operation in Ukraine. Simultaneously with the Russian troops, the offensive is carried out by units of the republics of Donbass, i.e. DNR and LNR. In some sectors of the front, only Russian troops operate, in others, Republican troops with the support of Russian artillery. Accordingly, the equipment of the units is different, not everyone has electronic warfare equipment. However, judging by the complaints of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this problem is gradually being solved.

And when in a week three cars simply disappear with signal loss for no reason, including not just Phantom 4, but Phantom 4 RTK, it becomes somehow uncomfortable. At the same time, the Phantom disappeared on our side, since the optics allow him to see a lot and without risk

- Ukrainian TG channels cite complaints of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the daily reports of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, air defense systems shoot down about 15 different Ukrainian drones per day, but the military does not provide data on electronic warfare. Although it is possible that they provide generalized data, including all drones in the "downed" category.

The Russian Ka-52 helicopter has become one of the main characters of the special operation deployed in Ukraine by the RF Armed Forces, constantly appearing in materials covering the work of army aviation on enemy positions.

One of the videos shows strikes against enemy forces that have settled in a forest. Performing a combat mission, the Ka-52 hit at least two targets in the course of one sortie, hiding in dense vegetation immediately beyond the open area, followed by a powerful detonation, apparently, of enemy equipment ammunition. Guided missiles acted as a means of destruction, the first of which, judging by the negotiations with the ground controller, was launched from a distance of 6600 meters.

After striking the crew moved to a sharp turn. The on-board warning system reported a risk when performing this maneuver - "the roll is high." After that, the hazard identification tools installed on the helicopter let the pilots know about the emergence of a threat to the machine - “attack from behind. Cheetah".

This refers to the Gepard anti-aircraft gun, armed with two 35-mm cannons. Targeting when using this system is carried out through an optical sight and radar. The ZSU 23-4 Shilka, which is in service with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, is the closest analogue of this German product, which has been in operation in the Bundeswehr since 1976.

June 2, 2022

Russian troops continue to deliver pinpoint strikes with precision-guided missiles at command posts and control posts of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and national battalions of the Ukrainian group in Donbas. According to the Ministry of Defense, during the day the strike was carried out in the Kharkov region, where nationalist formations are especially active.

According to the military department, the Russian Aerospace Forces launched a strike with high-precision missiles at the control points of the national battalions "Kraken" and "Azov" * (an extremist formation, banned in Russia), located in the Kharkov region. The Ministry of Defense does not provide details. Note that the nationalist formation "Kraken" is the Kharkiv "branch" of the national regiment "Azov" *, defeated and capitulated in Mariupol. The main part of the national battalion is made up of radicals, many of whom are convicted of serious crimes. Ukrainian resources call the Kraken a "death squadron". The Kharkiv National Battalion "Azov" * - "changed shoes" remnants of the "Azov" regiment *, who removed the Nazi symbol from their coat of arms and left only a trident.

Now to other information from the new report of the Ministry of Defense. Over the past day, operational-tactical and army aviation attacked 15 enemy concentration areas, the losses amounted to: up to 240 nationalists, ammunition and fuel depots, Osa-AKM air defense systems, 10 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, three Grad MLRS, seven artillery pieces and mortars, as well as 17 special vehicles.

A Ukrainian Su-25 attack aircraft was shot down in an air battle. The Ministry of Defense, as always, omits the details, it is reported that fighter aircraft distinguished themselves, everything happened in the area of \u200b\u200bthe settlement of Lyubomirovka in the Nikolaev region.

During the day, anti-aircraft gunners destroyed seven drones for various purposes, rocket troops and artillery attacked 579 enemy concentration areas, 131 command posts, 146 artillery and mortar batteries in firing positions were hit.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the following have been destroyed: 186 aircraft, 129 helicopters, 1,084 unmanned aerial vehicles, 327 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,373 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 460 multiple rocket launchers, 1,752 field artillery and mortar guns, as well as 3,350 units of special military vehicles

- summed up in the Ministry of Defense.

Checkmate will get an all-angle nozzle. But what engine was chosen for the Su-75?

Previously, Rostec planned to equip the Su-75 fighter with an engine with a controlled thrust vector only in the vertical plane. However, it became known that Checkmate will optionally receive an all-aspect nozzle.

The new 5th generation R579-300 engine, developed by AMNTK Soyuz, has become one of the main topics of discussion in the Russian technical sphere.
During the development of this engine, all the conditional parameters for determining the fifth generation of the engine were observed. Moreover, to date, R579-300 technology has not yet been surpassed by anyone.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the destruction of the point of deployment of foreign mercenaries and an air battle in the Nikolaev region
Today, 13:52
16

The latest report from the Russian Ministry of Defense came out very detailed and extensive. Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov confirmed an airstrike against Ukrainian troops on Zmeiny Island. As the Military Review has already reported, the Ukrainian military landed on the island for a frank propaganda campaign, which consisted in planting a flag. The Russian Aerospace Forces waited for the landing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the installation of the Ukrainian flag, after which a missile strike was launched with all the consequences for the Ukrainian military who landed on the island. Those from the Ukrainian military who managed to survive after the airstrike were forced to flee in a hurry on boats in the direction of Primorsky, Odessa region.

The report reports that a blow was also struck at enemy positions in the Soledar area. There suffered another loss of the 24th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As noted, the total losses of this formation reached 60% of the total number of personnel. This is about 2.5 thousand people. And the losses of the 79th Airborne Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine completely exceeded 80 percent of the personnel.

The "processing" of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of Artyomovsk (Bakhmut) continues. Several points of deployment of enemy armed formations from the 14th, 72nd and 10th brigades were hit there. Eliminated up to 350 people and 20 armored vehicles.

High-precision weapons were also used against military targets on Ukrainian territory and on Kyiv-controlled part of the territory of the DPR. So, missile strikes destroyed command posts in the area of Nikolaev, Seversk, Artemovsk, Zvanovka. Enemy manpower was destroyed in 14 concentration areas.

It is reported about the destruction of the training center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Ochakov, as well as the point of deployment of foreign mercenaries in the Posad-Pokrovsky area (Nikolaev region).

Three MLRS platoons were hit in the Seversk area, 4 artillery batteries near Seversk and an artillery formation armed with Giacint-B howitzers in the Gorlovsky direction.

There were also air battles. So, Su-35S fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a MiG-29 fighter near Nikolaev and a Su-25 attack aircraft near Adamovka (DPR). During the day, air defense systems shot down 17 enemy drones, including in the area of Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region.
