Russian anti-aircraft gunners in the Mariupol region shot down two Mi-8 helicopters of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who were trying to evacuate the leaders of Azov
Yesterday, 20:42
Helicopters of the armed forces of Ukraine again took off from the Dnipropetrovsk region in the direction of Mariupol today. We are talking about the Mi-8 helicopters of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were again sent by the command to carry out the evacuation of the leaders of the national formation "Azov" (* banned in the Russian Federation as an extremist group) and the command of the unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the attempt ended in a fiasco.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reports that two helicopters of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed by Russian anti-aircraft gunners in the Mariupol region. According to the official representative of the department, Major General Igor Konashenkov, the helicopters tried to enter the direction of the port from the sea. The flight took place at low altitudes.
To destroy the Ukrainian rotorcraft, portable anti-aircraft missile systems, which are in service with the Russian army, were used.
At the moment, there is no data yet on what kind of losses the enemy suffered during an unsuccessful attempt to evacuate the leaders of Azov *. At the same time, there are suggestions that these were two of the three Mi-8s, which a few days ago the evacuation operation was still a success. After the events when several helicopters of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to escape, additional measures were taken to strengthen the army air defense system in the city area. And these measures have already brought results.
