Ha ha ha. You forget so easily on western sheningans. Turkey never got their money back after Americans kicked them out of the F-35 program. US held Pakistan money for a long time with respect to F-16 until the Afghanistan War.

The French did not give Russia the Mistral ships and did not give the money back to Russia directly. Russia had to figure out a creative way to get their money back.

What about that Augusta helicopter fiasco? Bofors scandal etc. They are all the same. We need to make our own products in India.
The fiasco was our middle men or leaders told their companies to pay them bribe if they want to sell their products.

Not their fault.. if we count this out...

Bofors was actually a good deal yes better product was there for higher price.. so be it.

They also provided us full blue prints to make out own it's a different thing we didn't acted on that due to the ongoing case and i competency if our organisation.

Rest were political matters. When it comes to Western MNCs they do have better business conduct in comparison to Russians.

The situation on the contact line remains difficult, special attention is now focused on the Krasnolimansky and Berislavsky directions, where the enemy is making attempts to break through our defenses. Positional battles are going on in other directions, there is a slight advance of our units forward.

In the Krasnolimansky direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine ran into Kremennaya and Svatovo, now it’s more or less calm, the enemy is concentrating forces, ours are building a “correct” defense. The information that the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly cut the road connecting these two cities turned out to be a fake launched by Kyiv. The action of the Ukrainian DRGs is noted, ours shoot them as far as possible. The enemy is clearly not ready for an assault, but it's a matter of time. At the moment there is artillery on both sides.

In the Berislav direction, ours retreated, narrowing the front line and occupied a new line of defense, while avoiding falling into the boiler. Now a new line of defense is being built, artillery and aviation are working, the enemy has suffered heavy losses both in equipment and in personnel. Reserves are urgently needed, people are just tired. It was the lack of personnel that forced our troops to withdraw back, and not the strategic genius of the Ukrainian command. We were simply overwhelmed with numbers. But this does not change the essence of the matter. It is necessary to deal with problem solving, taking into account, among other things, negative experience.

As they say in the military department, in the Andreevo-Krivoy Rog direction, the units of the Russian army hold their positions, repelling the attacks of superior enemy forces. During the day, the enemy lost up to 30 nationalists, two tanks and four infantry fighting vehicles. More than 120 servicemen, two tanks and eight armored fighting vehicles were destroyed in the area of Davydov Brod and Dudchany. In just one day in this direction, the enemy's losses amounted to more than 230 personnel, four tanks, 18 armored combat vehicles, two Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers, two mortars and 20 vehicles.

Against this background, the Ministry of Defense cites data on the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the main directions: at Kupyanskoye, rockets were fired at the 92nd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, losses were 19 pieces of equipment and up to 100 military personnel. In the area of the settlements of Pershotravneve and Orlyanskoe, Kharkiv region, during the fighting, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 15 servicemen killed and up to 40 wounded, seven armored combat vehicles and five pickup trucks with heavy machine guns. On Krasnolimanskoye, the 93rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was hit by fire, more than 90 servicemen and seven armored vehicles were lost. Two Ukrainian DRGs were destroyed in the area of Torskoy and Yampolovka. Up to 70 militants, one tank, three armored combat vehicles and six pickup trucks with heavy machine guns were destroyed in the Lisichansk direction.

Artillery, aviation and missile strikes destroyed six warehouses, in the Nikolaev region at the Voznesensk military airfield, a hangar with Bayraktar TB2 attack drones was destroyed. The Iskander OTRK worked, the crew put the missile right on target. Also in the Nikolaev region, an American AN / TPQ-36 counter-battery radar was destroyed. Russian fighter jets shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 in air combat, again over the Mykolaiv region.

Air defense systems shot down six drones and destroyed 15 HIMARS MLRS shells and two HARM anti-radar missiles.

Experts discuss an interview with the commander of the NMD Sergei Surovikin about the course of the special operation

A full interview of General Sergei Surovikin, commander of the Russian special military operation, has been published on Rossiya 24 channel. The general, who took command just over a week ago, stressed that Russia is fighting not with Ukraine as such, but with the criminal Ukrainian regime, which does not put the interests of country and its citizens. According to Sergei Surovikin, it is important for Russia that Ukraine in the future be independent of the US and NATO, a state friendly to Russia.

Today, as the military leader noted, Ukrainian troops lose hundreds of killed and wounded every day.

The general was asked about how Russia's military aviation is performing during the NMD. He stated that since February 24, the crews of operational-tactical, long-range and army aviation have made more than 34,000 sorties. General Surovikin noted the high efficiency of the use of the Kinzhal hypersonic missile systems, as well as the new generation Su-57 fighters capable of carrying a wide range of weapons. The commander of the NMD also stressed that since the beginning of the operation, more than 8,000 sorties have been made by unmanned aircraft, the strike part of which hit more than 600 objects in the territories controlled by the Kyiv regime.

Sergei Surovikin was also asked a question about the situation on the fronts. According to him, the enemy does not leave attempts to advance on the Kupyansky, Krasnolimansky and Krivoy Rog-Nikolaev directions. At the same time, a high danger remains in the direction of Kherson.

The enemy, according to Sergei Surovikin, is able to use prohibited weapons and launch massive missile attacks on Kherson and Novaya Kakhovka, in connection with which the local population should think about the option of resettlement.

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: The Russian army can go on the offensive from the territory of Belarus, but not on Kyiv

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: The Russian army can go on the offensive from the territory of Belarus, but not on Kyiv

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that "the risk of an offensive by the Russian army from Belarus is growing." This topic has been very actively discussed by the Ukrainian side lately. Especially often it began to be exaggerated after the decision of Moscow and Minsk to create a single grouping of troops of the Union State of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on Belarusian territory.

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:

The risk of a second offensive by the Russian army from Belarus is growing.

At the same time, it was stated that this time "the target of the offensive may not be Kyiv." Representatives of the Ukrainian military department, sorting through all sorts of options with the broadcast of conjectures and assumptions, say that Russian troops "may change the direction of the attack, advancing to the west from the Belarusian-Ukrainian border."

From another speculation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:

They may try to cut the logistical arteries that ensure the supply of weapons and equipment by partner countries.

At the same time, the emphasis is on the fact that MiG-31 aircraft are deployed in Belarus. It is noted that these aircraft "can be used as carriers of the Kinzhal hypersonic missiles."

Recall that earlier in the Ukrainian General Staff all sorts of assumptions were made about the intentions of the Russian command. Among other things, there were such ridiculous statements as attacks on nuclear power plants.

In connection with the statements of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there is a possibility that Polish troops may invade the west of Ukraine under the guise of the RF Armed Forces, and Kyiv will continue to blame Russia.

Russian Su-30SM fighter destroyed an aircraft of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an air battle

Russian Su-30SM fighter destroyed an aircraft of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an air battle

The Russian Defense Ministry announces information about the work of Russian fighter aircraft during a special military operation. Among other things, the practice of so-called "free hunting" in the frontline zone is used. The practice of promptly transmitting data on activity at Ukrainian military airfields and airports to the duty flight crew is also being actively developed, which, if they have been functioning in recent months, have been in the format of performing exclusively military tasks. Having received information that an aircraft of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took off from one or another airfield within the reach of Russian fighters, Russian crews take off for a further "meeting" with the enemy.

One of these "meetings" took place some time ago.

Russian pilots of the Su-30SM fighter discovered and hit the enemy aircraft in a dogfight, after which they successfully returned to their base airfield.
1666482742305.png

According to some reports, the destruction of an enemy aircraft was carried out from a distance of about 35 km. Probably, the blow could be delivered by the R-73 missile.

Today it was reported that at least two aircraft of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took off from one of the airfields in the Dnipropetrovsk region. One of them was moving towards the line of contact near Krasny Liman. Perhaps it was there that he "met" with a Russian air-to-air missile fired from a Su-30SM.

Footage appeared on the network with unsuccessful attempts by fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to shoot down Russian cruise missiles

Last night was special for the infrastructure of the square. As Ukrenergo was forced to admit, as a result of the rocket attack carried out on October 22, the scale of destruction is comparable to or exceeds the consequences of the shelling of energy facilities on October 10-12.

The limited size of ground-based air defense systems, their low combat effectiveness in the fight against drones and cruise missiles, as well as the desire of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to avoid “flare” of anti-aircraft systems and their subsequent destruction, forces the Ukrainian command to actively use the remaining fighter fleet to destroy air targets. Judging by the recently published video materials, the hunt for combat aircraft was not particularly successful.

The video shows a Su-27 fighter pursuing a cruise missile flying over Odessa - this is already a common picture when trying to intercept weapons launched from Russian territory. Two other videos show footage of the use of missiles from fighter aircraft on air targets in the Odessa and Chernivtsi regions. In both cases, the missiles do not find their targets and are blown up in the air to no avail.

It seems that the unsuccessful attempts to intercept Russian cruise missiles going almost in a direct course by aviation are caused by the obsolescence of the onboard equipment of Ukrainian fighters, which is not capable of effectively capturing small targets.

The Ukrainian eyewitnesses who filmed the footage believed that the cruise missiles were shot down, taking self-detonation of air-to-air missiles as a successful hit on the target:

The Investigative Committee named the main versions of the crash of the Su-30SM fighter in Irkutsk

The Investigative Committee named the main versions of the crash of the Su-30SM fighter in Irkutsk

The Investigative Committee named preliminary versions of the crash of the Su-30SM multipurpose fighter in Irkutsk, which occurred on Sunday, October 23. As reported, to date, the investigation is considering two main reasons for what happened.

The failure of equipment and an error in piloting are the main versions of the fall of the Su-30SM fighter on a residential area in Irkutsk. Investigators are carefully studying the seized documentation for the aircraft, working with witnesses and maintenance personnel, expert examinations have been appointed. The final conclusion will be made after studying everything related to the accident.

An additional inspection of the scene is being carried out, samples of fuel filled into the aircraft, a unified gas discharge station with medical oxygen have been seized, chemical and forensic medical examinations have been appointed

- stated in the message of the Investigative Committee.

At the same time, an emergency services representative said that the crew could not respond to the crash due to the fact that they were unconscious or died. The reason for this could be the mistake of the ground personnel preparing the aircraft for departure.

The loss of consciousness of the crew could lead to the remaining nitrogen in the oxygen cylinders

- RIA Novosti quotes his words.

The Su-30SM fighter crashed on a residential building in Irkutsk on Sunday, October 23, during a test flight. Judging by the video taken by eyewitnesses, the plane fell vertically down, the crew did not react in any way to the fall of the car, which only confirms the version with loss of consciousness or death of the pilots. As a result of the crash, both pilots died, there is destruction on the ground, there are no other dead.

According to TASS, citing law enforcement agencies, the cause of the bomber crash in Yeysk was two seagulls getting into the engines of the Su-34. However, this raises many questions.

The WarZone edition promptly reacted to the news about the Russian Su-27, which fired a missile near an English reconnaissance aircraft. Here is what they write:

“The UK Department of Defense reports that a Russian Su-27 Flanker fighter “fired” a missile on contact (here the word encounter is used, which can be translated as “collision”, “skirmish”, as well as “meeting” and “contact” - I chose the latter ) with the electronic intelligence aircraft RC-135W Rivet Joint of the Royal Air Force of Great Britain. The incident took place over the Black Sea, where tensions between Russian forces and NATO have soared, including previous contacts involving British warships.

However, a stray missile, fired by accident or otherwise, could very well lead to a deadly escalation. Be that as it may, as a result of the incident, RAF RC-135 aircraft during operations over the Black Sea are now accompanied by Typhoon fighters.

crash

Speaking to other MPs in the House of Commons today, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace gave some details of an incident that took place in international airspace over the Black Sea on 29 September. However, many aspects of what happened remain unclear. The use of the term "released" does not make it clear whether the missile in question actually launched from the rails or whether it somehow blew off and fell unguided and/or with the engine inoperative.

Wallace explained that during the incident, an "unarmed RAF RC-135 Rivet Joint" flying from its RAF Waddington base in the United Kingdom "interacted" with two Russian Su-27s that tracked it for a total of about 90 minutes. This is quite standard procedure for such flights in international airspace. However, one of these Russian fighters "launched a missile in the vicinity of RAF Rivet Joint, but out of sight."

The wording of this last paragraph is also curious, as it is not clear whether the Minister is describing the launch of the missile out of sight at all, or out of sight from the RC-135W, or both.

The degree of danger to the RC-135W aircraft and its crew is also not very clear, although the UK Secretary of Defense called it a "potentially dangerous collision." At the same time, he appears to have made an effort to play down its broader meaning, stating that it does not count as a "deliberate escalation".

As we said earlier, the Rivet Joint, which is also operated by the US Air Force, is an extremely powerful platform for electronic intelligence and electronic information gathering. They are equipped to collect data on the type and location of various signal sources, such as radars, to help determine the combat composition and deployment of RES units and subunits, with a detailed description of the air defense, control and other capabilities of a potential adversary. They also have the ability to intercept messages. As such, they play a vital role in monitoring Russia's activities in the Black Sea, Crimea and the wider region.

No details about the type of rocket are given. If the Russian aircraft was indeed a Su-27 (as opposed to the more modern Flanker variant), then its missile armament would almost certainly have consisted only of older types of air-to-air missiles, mainly R-27 medium/long range (AA-10 Alamo) with semi-active radar or infrared guidance, as well as short-range R-73 (AA-11 Archer), using infrared seeker.

Again, we do not know if the missile in question fired its own engine, although it almost certainly had a working engine and warhead. If that were indeed the case, then any of these types of weapons could potentially bring down the clumsy RC-135W, even if the missile had been fired unintentionally.

It is these arguments that Russia has provided to the United Kingdom to explain this event. According to Wallace, Russia attributed the rocket launch to a "technical malfunction." Incidents of involuntary missile launches, while not unheard of, are usually attributed to pilot error rather than a technical problem.

The UK Secretary of Defense said:

"Our analysis showed it was a glitch."

At this stage, we also do not know how the crew of the RC-135W was alerted to the missile launch, or if they even knew about it at the time.

Nevertheless, the RC-135W completed its sortie and returned safely to base. According to Flightradar24, the Rivet Joint in question was a serial ZZ664, and the total duration of the sortie was 10 hours and 30 minutes.

“I communicated my concerns directly to my Russian counterpart, Defense Minister Shoigu and Chief of Defense Staff in Moscow,”

Wallace said.

He added:

“In my letter, I made it clear that the aircraft is unarmed, is in international airspace, and follows a pre-announced flight route. I have thought it prudent to suspend these patrols until a response is received from the Russian state.
The answer of the Russian Defense Minister dated October 10 states that an investigation into the circumstances of the incident was carried out and a technical malfunction of the Su-27 fighter was stated. They also acknowledge that the incident took place in international airspace."

Following a report from the UK Department of Defense on the incident, it was decided to resume regular RC-135W patrols, albeit now with cover provided by Typhoon fighters. The presence of these fighters near the Rivet Joint has become visible in the past few days on flight tracking websites. Wallace also confirmed that information about the incident was passed on to the United Kingdom's allies, although it is not clear what action they took.

“We welcome Russia's recognition that this was in international airspace. The UK has been flying regular combat missions with RAF Rivet Joint in international airspace over the Black Sea since 2019 and we will continue to do so.”

Wallace added.

While both Moscow and Russia appear to agree (at least publicly) that the missile launch was accidental, the Su-27s have some track record, in particular with regard to brazen and sometimes dangerous intercepts. over the Black Sea. Back in 2020, Su-27s performed a maneuver, which is sometimes called a “headbutt” (the term headbutt is used, which literally means “headbutt”, but I suspect that the pilots have something else in mind), in the immediate vicinity of US Air Force B-52H, again, in international airspace. One video clip of the incident shows a Flanker performing a similar maneuver directly in front of a B-52 from incredibly close range. Needless to say, the Pentagon did not like the behavior of the Russians.

Su-27 and B-52

(Following are discussions about the Crimea and the events in Ukraine, which I will not cite, because everyone already knows about this. Let's go straight to the conclusions, with which it is difficult to disagree).

Taken as a whole, the latest incident is a dramatic reminder that the likelihood of escalation between Russian forces and those of NATO and its allies is very high and likely to remain so only as long as (special military operation) rages on in Ukraine. A malfunction, such as this missile incident allegedly was, increases the already significant chances of some kind of miscalculation or misjudgment, which can have much more serious consequences.

We contacted the UK Department of Defense for further details of this incident but were told that for security reasons no further information would be forthcoming beyond the Minister of Defense's comments. However, if more details become available, we will update this story accordingly."

Well, here it is. So far, everything is very careful.

Russian promising aircraft engine PD-8 is being prepared for the start of certification tests

Work on the creation of a promising aircraft engine PD-8 entered the stage of testing prototypes. Yuri Shmotin, Deputy Director General - General Designer of UEC JSC, told about this.

Three prototypes of the promising PD-8 engine have begun testing, the developers are preparing the engine for certification and engineering tests, which will begin this year and continue next year. Now the issue of creating a new engine for the Mi-26 helicopter based on the PD-8 gas generator is being considered. The final decision remains with the Ministry of Defense, which is the customer.

We have already tested three prototypes on which we obtained results, and today we say: thermodynamically, the machine has succeeded (...) The gas generator of the PD-8 engine can be used as a gas generator for the engine of a new generation of the Mi-26 helicopter

- TASS quotes the words of Shmotin.

In 2019, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Oleg Bocharov said that a new medium-class PD-8 engine is being created in Russia, the development is based on technical solutions implemented in PD-14. The engine is being created to replace the French SaM146 on the Be-200 amphibious aircraft and for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ 100). The PD-8 type certificate is to be received in 2023.

The PD-8 bypass turbofan engine is created using the latest Russian materials and advanced technologies, including 3D printing

- said in the UEC.

The active use of Russian military aviation during the special operation takes place in the conditions of constant anti-aircraft opposition from the enemy. Aircraft face threats both at high altitudes, emanating from long-range anti-aircraft systems of the S-300 type, and at low altitudes due to the mass equipping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Western MANPADS. Sometimes technical failures lead to the loss of equipment.

1666907232563.png

AFU militants filmed a video showing the wreckage of a Russian Su-30SM fighter. Using winches, they are trying to tear off parts of the tail with the tail number of the crashed car from the hull to demonstrate the "military successes" of the Kyiv regime.

The footage was taken in the spring, but posted online only now. This aircraft crashed around the end of March - beginning of April, presumably in the Kharkiv region in the Izyum direction. Judging by the fact that the airframe was not damaged by the fire, it is possible that the fighter fell to the ground with an inoperative engine. It is possible that the engine was disabled by the striking element of an anti-aircraft missile.

This Su-30SM was commissioned in 2018.

The pilot of the Russian MiG-31 told the details of the destruction of the Su-24 bomber of the Ukrainian Air Force

Russian military aviation, in particular, MiG-31 long-range supersonic fighter-interceptors, is conducting combat work in the special operation zone. One of the attacks of such an aircraft was told by its direct participant.

The video of his story and footage of one of the sorties was published by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

On it, the pilot of the Russian MiG-31 told the details of the destruction of the Su-24 bomber of the Ukrainian Air Force during the fighting during the special operation. The enemy plane, detected by the radar of our fighter while patrolling the airspace in the NVO zone, tried to escape from the attack, but it did not succeed. The Su-24, whose affiliation with the Ukrainian Air Force was confirmed at the Russian control center, was shot down with an air-to-air missile fired by a MiG-31 pilot of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

They launched long-range missiles, illuminated them, then discovered, by the commands of the airborne radar station, that the enemy aircraft’s tag was missing, and received confirmation from the air control center that the target had been hit

- said the crew commander of the MiG-31.

A feature of this aircraft is its unpretentiousness to weather conditions and the ability to operate at high altitudes. Its supersonic cruising speed is 2.5 thousand kilometers per hour.

Footage appeared on the network with the wreckage of the Ukrainian MiG-29, which was trying to shoot down the Geran-2 UAV

Recently, an air battle took place between a Ukrainian Air Force fighter and a kamikaze drone of the Russian Armed Forces. And now, footage of the wreckage of the Ukrainian MiG-29, which was trying to shoot down the Russian-made Geran-2 UAV, has appeared on the Internet.

1666908187363.png

They were presented by employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of Ukraine.

The event in question took place at about nine o'clock in the evening on October 12 near Vinnitsa. Then the Ukrainian MiG-29, operating at night, was sent to intercept the UAV, but crashed to the ground. Thus, the first aircraft appeared on the account of the Russian Geraniums.

The day after the incident, blogger Yury Podolyaka presented his version of the reasons for the incident. He believes that the Ukrainian pilot, unable to visually assess the situation, was unable to control the aircraft due to a lack of qualifications. As a result, the MiG-29 had to make an emergency landing.
