Looks more like setting Ukraine up for failure, so that when Ukranian counter offensive fails, no one says that NATO training isnt what its hyped up to be... The authors are from a US sponsored support group.. Also, the footnote about westen support and patience not being infinite gives the intent away.. The article is far too negative of Ukrainian combined arms capabilities.. If you go by Italian/NATO Army guy Thomas Theiner whom I have been following since long.. Ukraine Army has been conducting effective combined arms warfare..

How do you square below statement about lack of NCOs in Ukraine Army (from the article) with the contents from the US pentagon website link I will post below.. ?

Since 2014, Ukraine has been all in on NATO training.. especially the NCO concept (at Yaroslav and other training grounds ).. Although Soviet doctrine is still significant, NATO training and doctrine is also equally prevalent ..So, where are all those war winning NATO trained Ukranain NCOs the Pentagon talks about in the below article ? Are they all dead ? You also need to know that none of these authors and NATO trainers have conducted large scale combined arms warfare under fire against an enemy with the level of fire power as large as Russia

Russian Army always learns and adapts.. How do you think they are still in the field, and have adapted each time US /NATO has supplied new arms.. be it Javelins, NLAW, M777 howitzers, Caesar, Western SPGs, JDAMs, HIMARS, GSLDB, Storm Shadow etc.. Whether Russia has adapted enough, for Russia to prevail ? We will have to wait and see..

The flip side of that coin is, does Ukraine have enough forces to sustain both Belgorod and Ukraine? I'm a bit shocked at this move by Ukraine. I could be wrong, but it didn't worked too well for the confederates the two times they invaded the north in the battle of Antietam creek and then Gettysburg.
