So far Western AD caused more damage to Ukraine than defending it
1. A 700kg HE warhead hitting either a HVT or causing large civilian casualty
2. A booster section with no explosive causing traffic accident and injuries

How is option 2 more damaging than option 1?
(Please try to give a no-BS technical answer, otherwise no need to reply)

Hence EW becomes so important. Just couple of days back there was news that Russia's EW had disabled almost 10000 Ukranian drones.
Contrary to that report there are videos of simple, no bs COTS drone destroying Russian EW systems

S-400 seems to he a fine system but in the age of drones it will he first one to be targeted.

Imagine a swarm of drone looking to disable the radars and launchers.
Billions in waste.

I think in the future in addition to AD we will have to place anti drone system on our border as well.
S-400 is still fine...on the brochure.

First thing first, that 55K6E was not destroyed by a GMLRS rocket; it was a HARM. The fragmentation pattern of GMLRS is very fine and spread over a big area compared to this where it looks like big uneven chunks. Also the pattern of fragmentation is from air to ground at a shallow angle, GMLRS usually falls almost vertically. So most probable scenario is that a HARM was launched and it diverted to somewhere between the radar and command vehicle.

If you go through the S-400 brochure then you would find them boasting about it being capable of targeting everything from F-22 to hypersonic missiles...but what it very conveniently leaves out is SEAD or DEAD missions. They were so overconfident about the range of S-400 that they thought if we can target aircrafts as far as 400km then why fear about Wild Weasels!? This was first instance of S-400 getting into arms way.

Technically each S-400 should have atleast two Pantsir just to tackle these SEAD/DEAD threats, but if they do so then there won't be any sufficient AD asset in Moscow to counter Ukrainian drones.

Home made tube. 80mm S-8 rockets.

80mm S-8 rockets!? Are you sure?

80mm rockets are very tiny, what they're using are 122mm Grad rockets.
Dis home made? What grade of steel is used to make these barrels, ISIS used to make the same.
Its funny but the old Soviet Grad rockets are bit of a modular system where you can either them as a MLRS or you can mount individual tubes on tripod and use is as infantry suport weapons.

So in this case they didn't have to bother whether the steel is 4140 or S7 or what...they simply found a destroyed Russian Grad and salvaged as many intact launch tubes as possible.

S-400 cannot target anything flying below the horizon. That means Wild Weasel type of attackers can get really close to release anti-radiation missiles.

Did Russia stop making Pantsirs?
