For US army, funding Ukraine is the most effective way to spend money and an opportunity that appears once in a lifetime. For a price of a couple of tens of billions of dollars (while MoD annual budget is over 700bn of USD), it can cripple Russian army for a decade while promoting and testing their gear in combat conditions, what´s there to not to like about it? They only have to take care not to demilitarize Russia too fast, so Putin doesnt go nuclear.
After successful operation in Ukraine US has secured order for HIMARS in Baltic countries, Australia, Poland, Taiwan, etc.
Half of EU is lining to buy Patriot and NASAMs.
Sale of F-35 has propped up.
and the list continues.

But what is the harm if doing so?
No harm just some battles lost with the occupied territories.

And some below observations can be inferred due to that.

Objectively speaking, the Russian campaign against Ukraine would be one for the history books and military colleges, on how NOT to wage a war. The age old adage comes to mind, as said by the man who led the allied forces from D-day to Hitler's suicide:

It is not very difficult for a person on the actual ground or in the far away office to make a strategy plan. You can make hundreds of those in a day.. but the realisation of those plans will always depend on logistics.

I think that if the Russians are able to stop axing themselves in the foot and understand how to actually manage logistics, and disable the enemy's ability to manage his logistics, they can make great strides in the battlefield. Ukraine with HIMARS has done exactly this.
Russia has been falling back for 6 months now. Advancing further is out of Question,& even to stem further loss Russia needs massive mobilisation of industry & men. 300K soldiers will not be enough and there is no indication that industrial output is being ramped up on war footing. Russia has by now lost technology edge against Ukraine in the war and now needs manpower to overwhelm them. I say, Russia needs to mobilise 2x compared to Ukraine, which means around 2000K soldiers rather than only 300K.

If Russia takes out power stations then it will automatically take out not only electricity but along with it most of Railway, communications, water & sewage systems, industry, farm irrigation, tv, radio, food processing etc

Follow it up by taking out fuel depots, fertiliser depots, wheat, edible oil depots (all these burn nicely)

And not to forget Gas distribution and storage system

But Putin obsessed with Ukraine Russia Bhai Bhai

all this talk about HIMARs yet the only footage we are getting is russian MRLS striking targets :confused1:
because the only footage you're seeing is from pro-Russian channels. HIMARS has been real effective. Kharkiv oblast and now Lyman are a testament of it.

If Russia is so incompetent then lets Gl0b0H0m0s finish them why are they crying for support from Asia and Africa??

Russia alone managed to challenge West hegemony and now sitting 15% Ukrainian territory and sent Europe in recession so how come Russia is losing here?

If Russia is losing 1 dollar then Europe/USA are losing 100 dollar so what harm exactly??

After this war West will become periphery of the world than centre as of today.

If people are thinking sanctions could have been avoided if had Russia refrain attacking Ukraine then people are thinking wrong again. these sanctions will be there for one reason or other like CAATSA.

For Russia, with Putin or without Putin, this war was inevitable.

no HIMAR footage just russian MRLS footage, HIMARs was getting advertisted for not being able to destroy a bridge here on this thread if I remember correctly. no HIMAR footage in lyman either other than 500 russian troops trying to hold numbers 10 times their size.

You don't need HIMARS footage to see the Russians running away from Kharkiv and Lyman etc

The total amount of Western military assistance to Ukraine has reached $85 billion, or 7% of the total budget of all NATO members. This makes Ukraine Number 3 this year in terms of military budget.

I guess Russia does not trust this country with nukes close to their borders.
