As per pro Ukranian channel there were 5500 russian troops surrounded . Can't say whether they were able to escape or not .

So, Putin's political escalation of annexing Donbass into Mother Russia, by which, he hoped to deter NATO from supplying arms to Ukraine, and arrest the Ukranian momentum after the Kharkhiv offensive, has not worked.. Although, the other expectations of annexation, like, convincing the local administration to risk their lives for Russia, and being able to deploy all those conscripts inside what is now Russian land, would still hold true..

Russians are going to attack in spring and are holding out till winter arrives.

They have already pushed the Ukrainians out of Kherson.

Using a nuke would have devastating long term economic consequences for Russia.. So, not yet. Russia still has a good shot at regaining all the territories of the 4 new oblasts, once a million reserves are mobilized and trained.. It's just that Russia is in a bad place right now, manpower wise because Putin chimped out on early mobilization because of domestic political reasons..

One needs to remember: When US nuked Japan, US economy was 50 percent of world GDP, and Germany and Japan were already finished.. Today, Russia's enemies viz NATO + other Treaty allies of US are still over 60 percent of world GDP + they are at the forefront in science and technology, liquid reserve currencies, dominate the world financial system.. So, if Russia uses nukes, the west + other allies will go all out on secondary sanctions against any country that trades with Russia, irrespective of the self harm..

I only predict the future. Yesterday Zelensky said that he would only speak with the new President of Russia. In this case, it will lose border areas, because there will be a new Constitution of the Russian Federation.

The trouble is Western propaganda has so convinced a lot of Ukrops that their lives are somehow better than the Russians- limited people to people contact over the past 8 years and besvis' (visa free travel to the EU) has contributed to this misconception- and sunny uplands await once Ukropia joins the EU when, in reality, the EU is a steaming pile of shit and there is very little public support (or money) to accept yet another dirt poor Eastern European country into its fold.

Hopefully the penny has started dropping across Europe after the Nordstream attack and if the EU establishment fails to stand up to America, I suspect the common citizens of Europe will start doing this through widespread civil unrest very soon.
