I think it is more credible that Russia lost 300-400 tanks, accounting for 20% of the total number of Russian tanks, which is a relatively large loss

More likely It's ~500 due to grinding nature of front & urban combat . Although these tank losses seem high , Russia can replace these losses . OTOH Ukrainian defence industry has gone kaput . I bet Ukraine wouldn't last >6 months even with NATO help .
