NATO would likely welcome Ukraine getting nuked. Would help in their long term project of weakening Russia through unprecedented secondary sanctions against countries like China and India , so that RUSSIA is not able to project meaningful economic and military power beyond its borders..
Putin asked Ukraine to stop fighting in annexed territories, because Russia won't stop fighting till it gets to the proclaimed boundaries of the new territories.. Putin would then declare a unilateral ceasefire, and hope a europe in an energy crisis, would help force Ukraine to stop fighting as well.. But, NATO knows this too, and would do everything so that Russia does not reach the state borders..

The end effect would be a weakened Russia that leans more heavily in China while India is forced into the NATO block.

With sanctions and economic issues, India has no NAM faction to 'ostrich' under this time.

The trouble is Western propaganda has so convinced a lot of Ukrops that their lives are somehow better than the Russians- limited people to people contact over the past 8 years and besvis' (visa free travel to the EU) has contributed to this misconception- and sunny uplands await once Ukropia joins the EU when, in reality, the EU is a steaming pile of shit and there is very little public support (or money) to accept yet another dirt poor Eastern European country into its fold.

Hopefully the penny has started dropping across Europe after the Nordstream attack and if the EU establishment fails to stand up to America, I suspect the common citizens of Europe will start doing this through widespread civil unrest very soon.

Although, the other expectations of annexation, like, convincing the local administration to risk their lives for Russia, and being able to deploy all those conscripts inside what is now Russian land, would still hold true..
