Or pose a threat in the form of a coup de etat once they start seeing the world outside of North Korea and realize that they had been lied to. Its a double edge sword for Kim.
Thats never a problem. Was never a problem for the soviets or Maoist China. Reason being, you just give those people in the military who's seen the outside world, more creature comforts than your population enjoys, thus making them a stakeholder in the current system - if they work to overthrow the current system, they risk destabilising their 'far higher than average' means of living within the system.
Its called ' preferring the devil you know, to the devil you don't.' Works like a charm everytime.

The threat, is always from perestroika - when the losers in your society who are jobless - or have marginal income due to persuing bullshit degrees like philosophy or political science, etc sees that their fellow kindred losers amongst the enemy have 10x more creature comforts, THAT is when you have trouble.
This is why China went through a severe clampdown on foreign travellers and for foreign travel between 1980-2000, while they got richer, to cut off any chance of perestroika & glasnost affecting their poor but educated class.

Take those numbers with a bucket load of salt, just like Russian casualty numbers out out by Ukraine.. 668 Ukranian troops killed per day is like Ukraine loosing thr number of troops India lost in Kargil every day, with Ukraine being the one entrenched and defending on most fronts, and there is not much infantry movement along any of the front.. In spite of heavy artillery fire in the Donbass, not a lot of entrenched enemies die..

This is just like the Russian MOD statements with Russia destroying more than the total number of HIMARS ( 16) delivered by US to Ukraine..

the 600 dead per day figures are quite believable for one simple fact :

The one constant of war for the last 5000 years, is that in 99% cases, armies take the most damage when retreating after disengaging from a battle ( this is different from retreating prior to engagement- where one goes 'oh crap, we dont wanna fight here, lets fuck off').

Even in THIS war, russia took the most casualties while retreating from the Kiev front.

Well what has ukraine been doing in donbass ? series of retreats after retreats AFTER making contact with russian BTGs. Not one pitched battle, not one 'we all die in the trenches or kill the enemy'.

So logic & precedence tells, that Ukrainian casualties are going to be disproportionately high, due to the continuous retreat post engagement conditions.

Russian sappers conducting demining in Ukraine collected a large number of mines and grenades. All this was destroyed in one explosion. The explosion in power is equal to the explosion of 3 tons of explosives in TNT equivalent.

Donetsk militia spoke about the difficult assault on the village of Peski. The Ukrainian army created three lines of powerful defense and even dug underground passages between the basements of houses, this is a small part of what they had to face during the battles in the village. Details of the assault in the video. (Subtitles)

The United States sent Mi-24 and Mi-17 helicopters to Ukraine. The helicopters were previously purchased from Russia for the Afghan army, but were eventually transferred to the Ukrainian army. Video with helicopters has already been published by the Ukrainian army.

Casualties are higher in disorganized retreat.. Ukranian retreats as well as the russian retreat from Keiv was pretty organized. ALSO, RUSSIAN Casualties were high when they were trying to hold Bucha and other suburbs of Kiev..

casualties are higher in disorganised retreats than organised ones (no brainer)- but casaulties are STILL higher in organised retreats, post contact with the enemy, than actual fighting, in overwhelming instances.

This is because while you are retreating, you cannot direct all your troops towards fighting - only a rearguard is fighting, while the bulk are leaving. While the non retreating forces are ALL fighting. This temporarily causes a 5-10 times greater power differential ( where the fighting side has 10x more people who are actually fighting). Most easily seen in melee combat of ancient times, but the axiom still holds today.

This is why, the most important and yet the most underrated aspect of a battle is the pre-battle, where the enemies just manuever around each other, in sight of one another, to try and gain an advantage that would translate into an ever slightly higher chance of not requiring to retreat. This phase, often lasts days or weeks for this reason.

Have many of you seen the new hissy fit the pro Ukrainians are having? The first one was the amnesty international saying Ukraine is committing war crimes. The most recent is the hissy fit about the CBS story that only 30% of the weapons are reaching the front. The pro Ukraine people on twitter are really throwing a temper tantrum. It's hillarious, but predictable. Here's a few examples..."Russian’s troll CBS. Jail editor." "It is beyond shameful what CBS has done #CBSIsShameful" "CBS article sponsored by RF" "If you don't retract that story I'm going to throw my rattle at you and hold my breath!" That last one was me imitating them. In reality this article was very damaging, and most people in America are pissed off about this. I hope more people wake up in America, and demand a peace agreement. This insanity by American Politians has got to stop.

Wrong again, Ukrainians are the only ones dying, along with a handful of mercenaries that have a death wish. It started as a proxy war and will end as a proxy war. You don't seem to know the definition of that term, so look it up.

This excuse has been around for a long time. Ever since the first days of the war, after they failed to "capture Kyiv in three days."
Captured Russian soldiers, during interrogations, said that this operation would be similar to the capture of the Crimea - no resistance.
But now, in fact, this operation is no different from how Nestor Makhno, in 1918, drove the White Guards and the Red Army in the Kakhov steppes. Also a mobile offensive. Only instead of cavalry and tachanks - motorized equipment is used.

But this is on the southern front On the eastern front, heavy MLRS began to appear more often. This means that the shortage of rockets has been overcome.

You're just repeating western koolaid. Nobody on the Russian side thought there would be no resistance. You can't just accept that Crimea hates Ukraine and that's why there was no resistance. Not to mention since there was an ongoing civil war for the last 8 years, only and idiot would think there would be no resistance. The narrative was to make the expectations so low for Ukraine that anything would be considered a great success. For example them surrendering in 2 weeks, is that low enough? Because that's what was said by the western msm, and they went further by saying they "knew" Russia thought Ukraine would surrender in a few weeks. They never explained how they knew this.
