Russia will soon launch the biggest even nuclear missile, powerful enough to destroy the whole of UK, Texas or even France, reported Daily Mirror.
The intercontinental ballistic missile, codenamed Satan 2, has the power to deliver about a dozen nuclear warheads of 40 megatons - 2,000 times as powerful as powerful as the atom bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
The tests of at least two such missiles - RS-28 Sarmat Super nukes - are scheduled before the end of the year, confirmed President Vladamir Putin’s Defence Ministry.
As per the report, the 100-tonne weapons, which could be ready for service as early as 2019, will make the recent nuclear strikes near Japan look like “popguns”, said experts.
It has been claimed by Russia that the missiles can “beat any defences” and is much more powerful than the SS-18 Satan weapons.
The Satan 2 missile was earlier displayed during a Victory Day parade in May, but testing the missile has not yet materialised due to some technical issues.
A source has confirmed that two tests will be conducted this year if the first attempt goes according to plan.
The liquid-fuelled Satan 2 missile, according to experts, is a weapon of mass destruction, equipped with technology to evade radars, and can travel far enough to hit London or the West Coast of the US.
The missile is twice as light as Russia’s current ballistic missile Voyevoda, with an estimated range of more than 6,000 miles. The missiles have an estimated speed of more than Mach 20, or 4.3 miles per second.

Officially, Russia’s new missile is named the RS-28 Sarmat and it replaces Russia’s aging R-36 missile, but NATO has termed it the Satan 2. Catchy huh? Compared to the 40-year old tech it is replacing, it is a technical marvel. It is designed to evade radar, early warning systems, and even modern anti-missile shield systems.
Once it reaches its target it can shower it with 10-16 MIRVs, all independently targeted and each one ranging from 3-5 megatons for a total payload of 40 to 50 megatons. By comparison the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was only 16 KILOtons, or roughly .03% the destructive power of a 50 megaton weapon. With a range of 6,200 miles, it could attack anywhere in Europe as well as the East and West coasts of the United States.
