Shangri-la county might be the most important destination for my trip, since my original plan was Lhasa. Due to covid lockdown, Shangri-la is the only Tibetan region i would go.

The Indigo Hotel has the best view over the town. In very Chinese ancient town, the top hotel always build on best location. It robbed the me USD300 per night.

Since they robbed me $300 per night, the afternoon tea was for free.

The best view point in the town.

The Cadillac Lyriq, its 1st EV on its 1st pure EV platform, had national level of road show here in Shangri-la.
It's $USD70,000 for entry level, pretty cool, but it's too young to me.

And now Tank 300, it's everywhere in western China now, it sold around 250,000 in 2.5 yrs. $USD40,000 but 70% off road capability as Jeep wrangler.

Ganden Sumtseling Monastery is one for four most holy temples in Tibetan Budhism, it's 5km away from Shangri-la downtown.

News board for how armed police of PLA had good cooperation with the temple ^_^.
For important Tibetan temple, there always a fire department of armed police nearby; we all know that such ancient and wooden temple is easy to catch fire. Of course, if there is some other kind of fire, the army plice would also terminte it ... you know what i mean...

The view for Ganden Sumtseling Monastery from mountain.

The local Tibetans are rich, good house and good cars.

The local Tibetan wants to sell his property with $USD 3 millions ... including a hotel and a restaurant

Local breakfeast market, China is 100% covered by e-payment. I didn't take a penny coin or physical note for the whole journey. Everywhere is powered by Alipay or WeChat pay.

This looks even better than Potala as Lhasa has somewhat lost its character due to Chinese shortsightedness in building it up. Is this in Sichuan or Qinghai? Chengdu is another place from where I met lot of Tibetan monks while in China. I forgot one other monastery I visited that was kinda big and very important to Tibetans....need to look up my pictures from that trip.

It's good to know that you alsotraveled in western China. Western is always my favourite, less people, good envrionment, splendid landscape ... Welcome to visit again!
Yes, there was a group of us planning a trip into Tibet again to do some hiking into some of the places we could not go last time but Chinese govt is not letting any foreigners into the country much less Indians. These service areas did not exist in Tibet interior and only shitting into big mountain side holes in the ground was the only option....stink was horrible but its remote so I understand. I got chased by Tibetan mastiff, its bark is something I will never forget.

That's the attraction of Tibet,it is wild and original of Tibet.

The Tibetan mastiff is the wildest dog type closed to wolf, they almost only submissive to their master, they are wild enough to survive in tough Tibet.

This mastiff is for selfie, charges USD3 each time,^_^

Yes, traveled in Qinghai/Tibet and stayed in Xining. There is a huge lake there that I visited, can't remember the name anymore. Took train from Xining to Lhasa with three beautiful chinese chics lol

One of my unforgettable experiences. Also seen the tibetan mastiff's in Beijing too, I guess some people keep them as pets. Its bark is more deeper than even Tosa Inu. Keep us updated of the places you are covering, are you planning to go back the same route or loop a different route? May be getting too cold up in Tibet but if you are covering Urumqi then please post pics.

Just like how they used Hunger Index to shit India (I do think India has issue on food distribution system, not getting worse but getting better); China and India might be the most mis-understood two entities by western, of course on purpose.
West has a Superiority Complex. They think of themselves as superior to everyone else in the world. For example see UK, their media once called India "Former British colony", just shows how retarded they truly are. They love to defame nations such as Russia, China, India etc. Coming to issue of hunger then yes there are issues on food distribution here but it is getting better over time.

Agree. See the election last month in UK,everyone knows Sunak is more capable than Truss, but finally those hidden racism made an uneducated white lady became PM. But i think it's good for this old empire's falling.

Left Shangri-la and now climbing the Meili snow mountain. The Meili considered sacred for Tibetan Buddhists, pretty like Mount Kailash for Hindu.

1101.jpg

We slept inside SUV at 3500m altitude, for viewing the sun raising on Meili snow mountain at 7:00 AM.

1110.jpg

People are waiting for sun raise.

1111.jpg

Since this hotel has best view, the room priciong is $200 per nite, as you can see people are standing on the balcony, for waiting to shot.

1108.jpg

It's amazing to see how a holy peak was awaken from dark by sun raise.

Beautiful is an understatement. This part of China is mostly hidden from the world. Those are some really scenic spots ngl.

We should really take notes from what the Chinese did and apply it in our context. Not just for the beauty of it, but for the economic dimension.

Our Govt is already developing several tourist circuits. And they're just starting out. Tourism would be a low hanging fruit with big returns. Lots of easy jobs for the locals.

Until our economy grows enough, these tourist destinations growth will be aided by international tourists and bring in $$$. Once an average Indian grows wealthy enough, we can sustain by purely domestic tourism.

We're really punching below our weight in Tourism for now. Thankfully, things are moving in the right direction and by the end of this decade, we might be taking a leap. :truestory:

After Tibetan region Shangri-La, we were back to "low altitude area". We visited a memorial park for RO.China’s southern fights with Japanses army during WWII.

The troops were also trained in India by USA army. I tried to dig some history whether the Ro.China engaged with Chandra Bose`s troop in Myanmar, but the record is very limited.
