The Five eyes maybe creating a separate Anglo Saxon alliance.. But, all of the countries in 5 eyes are treaty allies of the US.. so I don't know how AUKUS helps..

5 eyes alliance, old UKUS treaty was mostly centred around USSR. This AUKUS treaty maybe for maritime security against China. Canada isn't going to be part of anti China treaty in Pacific, nor do they have resources or reasons. UK,US,AUS have reasons and resources for such treaty. Why NZ isn't part of this is surprising me.

The full details of this arrangement is definitely going to be classified. The N-Sub deal is only what they are showing on surface. There must be much deeper understanding between three.

yes. QUAD never was going work with a compromised biden. Now its a climatic action group. Notice how the 2+2 dialogue with AUS had statements which in my opnion were kind of appeasement to china that we are not a threat to you. Hum bas dikhane ke liye ikkathe hue hain.

Why blame Biden.. India has always been harping time and again, that the QUAD is not a military grouping and not directed against China.. Jaishankar regularly sings the "QUAD will never be NATO" Song..

But it does shows where the US priorities lies, and AUKUS is a proper military alliance, not like some China appeasing QUAD.

I think the yankees could not resist the 45 billion $s. And for UK it follows US like a calf follows cow. The deal was formalised into alliance to kick the french deal out directly.

yes for that reason i mentioned the last 2+2 dialogue betn aus and india. No threatening statement. All equally responsible. Aus doesn't want to lose its barley market in china. Japan we don't know who we are talking . 2 PM changes. one regime change in aus and quad is done. And we are saying that its not a military alliance.

-Aus France submarine deal was signed in 2014(obama era) under turnbull, and the program hardly moved forward. this new deal could be tha case of an treaty ally bailing out the other from a bad deal

-UK is probably involved because US submarines have UK tech integrated into them perhaps. US submarines when built initially were based on UK tech

-since UK is out of EU, it’s only natural that they start getting involved in strategic opportunities

-AUKUS does look like a Anglo Saxon boys club

-US had already singnalled that Australian defence relation ship will be upgraded by placing Patriot missile battery in AUS earlier this year, patriot battery(70 km range 24 km altitude) has no practical utility for Aussies but it does send a message.

-more deals have happened like precision missiles(HIMARS based) that are being “co-developed” by US and AUS.
-Since Afghanistan military deployment is over, US MIC will need new income streams, multi decade submarine program fits the bill.

So essentially it looks like AUS is being given a helping hand to get rid of their defence insecurities. Aus is a big dog in South Pacific, it would be a awkward situation if Indonesia is better equipped militarily than australia(on its own).

Your observation is correct, Japan had two PMs replaced since Joe Biden became POTUS.

Australia is also concerned about its beer and pork sales to China, huge market I would say.

With AUKUS Uncle is trying to make Australia, UK of Asia. N Subs and Tomahawks are just beginning. More sensitive stuff will come. Also this alliance will keep French away from Pacific region. This will also limit Japan's role in Asia.

Name of this agreement AUKUS reminds me of UKUS agreement of 1946. It was created by and for Anglo-Saxons to protect eachother and mainten their hegemony in multipolar world post WW2. With this new agreement I think US is going back to that but this time in Pacific Ocean.
