Foreign Investments in Reliance Jio: A Security Concern?

Note that reliance is infamous for amassing power by manipulating the system not just by pure merit and all.
Note that during Vajpeyee government, infamous Pramod Mahajan started process of bancrupting BSNL and benefitting Reliance.

Conspiracy theories? Commie propaganda? Congie. Must be one of the freeloaders from those incompetent PSUs. What about this that party, corrupt... Blah blah....

We lit a fire to Modi’s social media campaign,’ wrote Facebook’s Ankhi Das

Commie Congie blah blah congie blah blah.. KGB agents .. bar girl.

Fair enough. But if that was fate of poor countries governments.. being influenced infiltrated by cold war superpowers, can it only one party and one superpower in the game?

Look at these shameless people. They have been in power for last 6 years, ruling PSUs through their beaurocrats. Typical arrogance, shamelessness. Traitors giving certificates of patriotism

'BSNL filled with traitors, 88,000 employees to be fired,' says BJP MP

COAI alleges Trai acting in undue haste to conclude IUC

Target of indian agents: hundreds of acres of real estate of bsnl in all major cities (+ ???bakshish by foreign masters by completely giving away control of strategic asset that is telecom sector to foreign masters --- foreign 'investments' in Jio).
.
.

This is one example but One gets feeling that this is happening in many other sectors

HAL disinvestment: Govt plans to sell 15 per cent stake in defence firm

Decades old defence companies, Banks, Railways, Ports, Telecom... Overt agenda seems gobbling lands, and favouring friendly corporate competitors. But could there be a possibility of larger agenda of some deep state giving away strategic assets to someone?

Okay, I know I am dumb and this is mostly far fetched conspiracy theory and lockdown blues, but I thought I should take second opinion of experts if there is any pattern.

News Ckickin isn't the most neutral source you would find on the internet.

Also for Facebook getting Indian Data, they won't get anything significant till the Servers and Data centers are located in India.
I know Jio is heading for a monopoly but this was a necessary evil we are too dependent on foreign sectors for Telcom and a immediate push was needed to relocate the sector to home.

As for BSNL incurring losses maybe they should have tried launching 4g before talking shit down on masses. Years and years of leeching off on tax payers money and still using tech from China.

Why they never formed their own R&D cell is beyond me.

In the future I hope more Telecom giants come into play and give jio a tough competion.

@Kumata Can weight in on this.

To be fair

These are the 18 sectors that have been identified as ‘strategic’ for India by Modi govt

According to the plan, in strategic sectors, there will be a maximum of four public sector units and a minimum of one unit operating. The govt plans to exit the rest.
But then as we have seen from Kejriwal(I will not join politics) to crypto jew Imran khan type mini colour revolutions, significantly making use of social media, with similar social media tactics the people with ulterior motives accuse others and claim opposite of what are their own real intentions. While opposition itself has been infiltrated/corrupt and destroyed. So for people there are no second or third alternatives (or second or third in line in succession also already co-opted).
So proof of pudding is in eating. Let's see and hope for the best.

If it is planned like that and Indian deep state (if anything like that exists as a sincere entity) is in the know then good. Otherwise origin and rise of Reliance and Ambanis is shady.

It is a well know fact Dirubhais company was collapsing someone invested in his company at the right time and saved him.
I myself don't know who it was but I do have a assumption.

BSNL is a government controlled organisation .

Did indian government allot 4G spectrum to BSNL ? How they're supposed to launch 4G services ? Why government didn't allot 4G spectrum to BSNL so that all the people start using private company Sims ?

R & D ? Did Lol all the 4G technologies available in India are imported from foreign countries .

It is a government controlled organisationWhy government never invested money and hired scientists for r And D ?

The bSnl users mostly use its 2g services or use it as 2nd sim card , for incoming calls .
It is not profitable for BSNL .

Did the government outright ban BSNL from participating?

They have not alloted 4G spectrum to BSNL till now , and in near future they Will not allot it.

If government didn't allot 4g services to BSNL and somehow it alloted cheaper pan India 4g spectrum to jio then who BSNL is supposed to attract consumers ?

BSNL has been offering 3g since 2009 same with other pvt ones at the time.

BSNLs market share has been falling since 2005 when pvt companies entered the fray.

Any reason sites why they did so.

They were supposed to roll out 4g in March

Because private companies were using and still using BSNL infrastructure ( thanks to government ) .

3G services were extremely costly and at that time smartphones were not available to masses .

They didn't allotted 4g spectrum to BSNL and will not allot It in near future and give various excuses but never allow it , they didn't allot in march and not allow it in the future and till then private companies will start providing 5G services .

Almost all the telecom companies are either closed (Tata , Aircel , virgin etc ) or facing heavy losses ( Vodafone band Idea ) .
This situation is creating duopoly of Airtel and jio.

BSNL shares took nose dive since 2005. Sure they were making huge profit but in the absence of competition.
And yes BSNL never had a decent network one of the many reasons why people used to migrate to Different Brsnds.

4g was going to be launched in March but got dealyed due to Corona and now Chinese equipment.

It is a fact that government PSUs are not very competent when it come to work (but they DO work). But the issue here is not their comoetency and petty correction. That would be somewhat a diversion from main issue that peoples government should not completely let go off control of strategic assets and should be very transparent about who the real stakeholders are.

e.g. HAL is one of worlds oldest aeronautics manufacturers. The kind of knowledge and ecosystem takes decades to set up. And as we can see from procurement of latest technology, fighters, engines; no nation/superpower gives away core high end technology, even to a closest friendly nation and even after paying exorbitant price. It xant be measured in terms of money and balance sheets that is just paper and comouter code. So you can talk a lot about incompetence, laziness etc. But that would be diversion to real issue that is enough excuse to sell off all this decades old experience and lose control over it? Is there no middle way between complete government monopoly/socialism and simply selling it off (or rather giving it away to some friendly company or even business parteners from so called opposition parties). Why cant private players blossom as competitors on their own merit?

For dirt cheap prices without settings up infrastructure for it or paying the right amount of money.

Because BSNL was busy in socialism ( implementation of government policies ) ,
It invested it's resources in rural , less profitable circles while private players invested their resources in only profitable circles ,
They started providing services even after taking losses just to grab market share , government provided loans to private companies Which is responsible for huge NPA Indian banks bare facing ( part of the problem )

This is the reason why almost all those private companies are now bankrupt and closed .
Government never wanted to give 4g spectrum to BSNL , they are just making excuses , they allotted 4G spectrum to jio ( Infotel Broadband Services Limited (IBSL)in 2010 at dirt cheap rates but they are still giving excuses for BSNL ?

Why ?

Because BSNL was busy in socialism ( implementation of government policies ) ,
Essentially setting themselves up for failure
For dirt cheap prices without settings up infrastructure for it or paying the right amount of money
So essentially BSNL made money out of Private companies and weren't able to hold on to their customer base.

Do u know the reason why government invited private companies in the first place.
Government never wanted to give 4g spectrum to BSNL , they are just making excuses , they allotted 4G spectrum to jio ( Infotel Broadband Services Limited (IBSL)in 2010 at dirt cheap rates but they are still giving excuses for BSNL
BSNL did get their 4g spectrum which they sold it back when they shifted from WIMAX to LTE.
