Panama Papers scandal may topple Nawaz Sharif government in Pakistan?
Last Updated: Monday, April 18, 2016

Islamabad: It seems that the huge political storm which has erupted in Pakistan over 'Panama Paper' leaks issue will not douse without taking a toll over the Nawaz Sharif government.

According to a Zee Media report, the first observation which puts a certainty regarding the above situation is Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's sudden change in his travel plans.

On Wednesday, instead of arriving in Turkey to attend the OIC summit, Sharif left for London. According to media reports, he made this change in his travel plans due to a "personal and medical checkup".

Notably, before departing, Sharif held a meeting with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali and Punjab Chief Minister -- and his brother -- Shahbaz Sharif as well as other senior aides at Lahore's Allama Iqbal Airport.

President Mamnoon Hussain has also left for Istanbul on a three-day visit to attend an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation conference.

Sharif had however earlier formed a high-level judicial commission to probe any financial wrongdoing, a day after three of his children were named in the 'Panama Papers' for owning offshore companies prompting demands for an enquiry by the opposition.

Meanwhile, launching a scathing attack on Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan had yesterday said that the Prime Minister never thought to clear the air on the issue.

On the contrary, he added, UK Prime Minister David Cameron, who was also facing the charges under the Panama Papers revelations, made his tax payments record for the past five-six years public.

Notably, he also demanded a fresh elections in Pakistan and probes by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Federal Board of Revenue, and the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Thus, it seems that some serious tensions are looming over the Nawaz Sharif government in Pakistan.

Ye khoon choosne wali leeches hain, itni asani se peecha nahi chorenge. He is exposed in the Panama Leakes but everything can be bought in Pakistan and he has enough money to spend. Unless the Army stand against him, he will not resign.

I do not understand. As if the military personnels are corrupt free. From Ayub Khan, Zia to Musharaff are having millions. Musharaff goes to Dubai and London at the tip of the hat. How do military personnels earn so much money?

Secondly there is no accountability of the weapon's purchased. No ASQ proposed. Just buying Mi-35, then Z10 and now planning T129. I mean who decides what the Army or AF really wants? Or they just buy things who offer them money? Not these platforms are bad. But no body to question military guys.

If Nawaz is dismantled than it will be a starting of rapid downfall of Pakistan. Pakistan is going to emerge as a failed state. Pakistan has made a lots of progress in this area. Nawaz is fighting with it single handedlly. Dismantling of Nawaz will be the anarchy in pakistan.
