U.S. seeks Pak. help on Afghanistan

Washington’s newly named point man tasked with finding a peaceful end to Afghanistan’s 17-year war is in Pakistan to seek help from the new government in Islamabad in bringing the Taliban to the negotiating table, the U.S. Embassy said on Tuesday.

A former U.S. Ambassador in Kabul, Zalmay Khalilzad arrived in Pakistan from neighboring Afghanistan. His tour of the region will also include West Asian stops in the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

In Afghanistan, he met with President Ashraf Ghani, a long-time friend. Mr. Khalilzad, who was also born in Afghanistan, first served in Kabul as a special envoy of President George W. Bush following the 2001 ouster of the Taliban, and then later as Washington’s Ambassador.

But Mr. Khalilzad has had a prickly relationship with Pakistan and has often accused Islamabad of fomenting violence in Afghanistan by supporting the Taliban. He has even said the U.S. should declare Pakistan a terrorist state.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stupid "The Hindu" guys have inserted the word "help" in the title. But it is far from it. Mr. Khalizad is sure to punch porkis into submission. And in this situation, porkis might do anything for funds from US.

It will be good for us , Irani's attack pakis ,pakis take revenge ,Iran moves closer to us and helps in gangbanging pakis ,Though I doubt Irani guts to attack a military base , And as far as Islamic nations are concerned I think paki army is the best of goat fucking clan ,Andho me kana raja. Also ,if pakis fuck Irani's through terrorist attacks or direct military action , may be there's a chance of replacing that rabid mullah Khomeini .
Nope Iran will never join us to take on Pakistan.

One good meeting between top Shia cleric of Pakistan and Khomeini, they will immediately become friends.

Like us, Iran is also fighting a civilisational fight. They won’t waste their resources on a petty wars.

Without sound economic fundamentals and a GDP growth at less than 3.6%, Pak is heading South faster than an express train! I'm eagerly awaiting the inevitable crash!
