Pakistan struggles to quell violence on its Afghan border

Summary
  • Pakistani forces face string of attacks
  • Pakistan hopes Afghan Taliban can secure its side of the border
  • Talbian says no decision on Pakistan's drive for border fence
Increasingly frustrated, Pakistani officials have been pressing the Taliban to deny space and resources to the militants, an appeal repeated by National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf when he visited Kabul last month.

Yusuf's office did not respond to a request for comment.

Taliban Defence Minister Mullah Yaqoob says his government had not given anyone permission to fence the border. :pound:

"We've not taken any decision about the fencing," he told Afghan state-owned RTA TV last week.

I don't trust these paki and western articles. They are used either for atrocity literature or to drum up sympathy to a situation that is actually being orchestrated by pakis for their own benefit.
I believe that pakis are doing this to get paid rent again by its former daddies for keeping the bad boys in check.
Question is whether anyone will buy it. If not, how long will the pakis continue with this show.

Pakistan releases 46 TTP prisoners :pound:

Islamabad: The Pakistani government recently released 46 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) prisoners with an aim of a permanent ceasefire and peace agreement with the banned terrorist group, media reports said.

Journalist at Radio Free Europe, Daud Khattak, tweeted on the issue and wrote: "Pakistan released 46 #TTP prisoners to continue progress towards a permanent ceasefire and peace agreement with the banned group."

He said Pakistani authorities did not comment on the issue so far.

"#Pakistani authorities have no comment so far, but sources say more #TTP prisoners will be free in the next 3-4 days, including some key members of Swat Taliban or men like Latif Mehsud. #TTP is so far watching and had slowed down its attacks in Pakistan," he wrote.

"Members of the tribal Jirga, who returned from Afghanistan a day before, are going to meet a top security official in Peshawar to brief him on the #TTP talks and the way ahead. Another ceasefire seems to be on the cards if #Pakistan agrees to release a few #TTP bigwigs," the journalist wrote.
