Pakistani spy caught with Army documents, maps

NEW DELHI: A man allegedly working for a Pakistani intelligence agency has been arrested with several Indian Army documents. He had been asked to gather information on Air India pilots, Army bases in the country, journalists who frequently visit Pakistan and relatives of officials working in the Indian High Commission in Pakistan. Maps of cantonment boards and details of many battalions have been recovered from him. Investigators have identified one of his handlers — working at Pakistan High Commission in the capital — as "Talib".

The spy, Zubair Khan (37), a native of Kakrala Village in Badayun district of Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from the Kalindi Kunj Park. He has been sent to two days' judicial custody after being produced in in the court of additional chief metropolitan magistrate. Khan has been booked under Officials Secrets' Act, said Sanjay Kumar Jain, DCP (crime branch).

Khan, a freelance Urdu translator, is a Jamia Millia Islamia graduate. He worked for some Urdu newspapers for a while, said sources. "He came in contact with intelligence officials at the Pakistan High Commission about 10 years ago when he went there for an interview. He kept in touch with them and about five years ago he started working for them as a spy. He was paid for different assignments," said the source.

Officials said that Khan visited Pakistan in 2003 and 2005. However, they are trying to verify whether he was working as a spy at that time or not. The last time he visited the country was in 2008 for a cricket match. Since then, he's been under the scanner.

"His trainer in the Commission had recently asked him to collect information on Air India pilots and Indian journalists who travel to Pakistan frequently," said the source. Officials said that Talib could be the assumed name of the handler. Khan has handed over several documents relating to Indian Army to his handlers. "He used to meet them in Chanakyapuri area," said the official.

Meanwhile, residents of Jamia Nagar thronged the DCP's office protesting against Khan's arrest.

I have not lost my hope with the judicial system yet...:(
When previous spies that were caught still have cases pending then why are you assuming differently in this case ?

do you know if you file case in allahabad high court today and if you get stay order then your next hearing would most probably be after a decade ? there are around 100 lakh pending cases in that court with more being added on a daily bases  :pound:

you obviously don't know the Indian system works. Its very easy to get people jailed or bailed, provided you have the connections and the moolah

These activities in Jamia Nagar and other such areas are all too common.....In Mumbra lakhs of people converged to pay Homage to LET terrorist Ishrat Jehan!

P.S: Ramdev was evacuated forcibly at the heart of the night, on the pretext that he is a national security threat! However, police just stands there letting these Namak-Harams bock roads and disrupt traffic and commerce! Mind you Ramdev did not block a single vehicle!

Jamia Nagar youth picked for 'spying', residents come out on street

New Delhi: After a brief lull, fear wave has again engulfed Jamia Nagar residents with the arrest of a youth Tuesday noon for allegedly spying for Pakistan. Residents have come out on street and are sitting on dharna in front of the Jamia Nagar police station alleging involvement of the local police. The life in entire area has come to standstill as the main road has been blocked by the police.

Zubair Khan of Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh was a property agent. He was living in Shaheen Bagh area of Jamia Nagar for more than 10 years. "Normally he would return home in the evening. But yesterday he didn't return. We started looking for him in the night. We came to Jamia Nagar police station. First they appeared ignorant but later they confirmed he has been picked by Crime Branch of RK Puram police station," said Mohd Tayyab, elder brother of Zubair who also lives in Jamia Nagar.

He further said that he got a call from RK Puram Police around 1 am in the night. They said they have filed an FIR no. 193/2012 against Zubair, 36, under Official Secret Act for spying for Pakistan. Tayyab refuted the charge.

Leading the sit-in (dharna) outside Jamia Nagar police station, LJP leader Amanatullah Khan said the police have illegally arrested Zubair. They did not inform the local police. It is the part of the series of arrests made in last few months from Bihar and elsewhere."

"Whoever is culprit must be taken action against. We are ready to support police. But it is not right that they pick any one at their will. After 10 and 15 years, the youths are proved innocent, then who will be responsible for spoiling their life? asked Khan adding that entire Jamia Nagar is under the grip of fear, people are frightened.

Pacifying the angry residents, Jamia Nagar SHO said he has sympathy with the local people and he will pass on the grievances of the residents to higher authorities. He said that RK Puram Police have told them that Zubair was found with secret documents but he added that he does not know if the documents are genuine or not.

Shouting slogans against the police local residents and rights activists were demanding action against the witch-hunt of Muslims. Akhlaque Ahmed of APCR said if visiting Pakistani embassy in Delhi is a crime then why not the government shutting down the embassy, and why they are going to resume cricket ties. "Down Down with Delhi Police", "Stop Goondaism of Delhi Police" were some of the slogans the people were making.

How did they decide to call a middle aged pot bellied guy - youth?
Pot belly is the sign of prosperity.

Now we know from where the money came!

Won't believe a word till Digvijay Singh gives his considered opinion.

He knows all being closely connected.

Left wing organizations are always there on time at such incidents! Various Left wing so called rights groups, were seen out in full swing, when Delhi Police Inspector MC Sharma was martyred by terrorist youths of Jamia Nagar.

JNU and Jamia University are epicenter of Maoism and Jihadi activities respectively, they work in tandem with full support of these NGOs, and mind you if nothing is done to curb their activities then India will soon pay dearly!
