Sindh, July 28, 2016: Pakistani Hindus came out on streets to protest against religious extremism that has been unleashed over it after the allegations by the Bharchundi Sufi Peers that a Hindu man desecrated Quran.
The man in questions had converted to Islam 4-years back after being tired of rampant persecution and is said to be mentally unstable. But this has not been covered up by the media till now as they fear becoming a target of hate.
Sindhi nationalists are already condemning the violence against the Pakistani Hindus and the silence of the politicians who spared no minute to even talk about the atrocities as the Peers in question are powerful and have a sway over the common people.
Rising extremism which plagues most part of Pakistan is a challenge for Sindh. Can Sindh defeat terrorism and extremism?
The protest took place at the Karachi Press Club and the protestors demanded that the murdered Hindu boy, Sateesh Kumar, killers and those who stoned Raherki darbar be arrested as soon as it can be done.
Meanwhile, right now, the situation is still tense and the Peers and their men remain untouched by the law-enforcement agencies fearful of a possible backlash.

It has also been reported that the Muslim mob chanted the slogans against the media with the prominent one being:
“Media wara Hindu ja Hami sub Harami.”
The mob believed that by recording the incident, the journalists were doing a great disservice to the cause of Islam and many journalists were roughed up and beaten with rods and sticks for doing their work and capturing the incident on cameras. Sindh, July 27, 2016: Bharchundi Sharif, a Sufi establishment in the area is instigating Muslim mobsters to attack Pakistani Hindus. The second village to be attacked is the Mirpur Mathelo district Pano Aqil of the Sindh. The attack has been led from Sufi dargah, an institution that has led forced conversion of Hindu girls and boys for long. Rinkle Kumari was abducted and forcibly converted by an ex-PPP MNA Mian Mithoo who is the top gun here.
Worse is that the man that the Bharchundi Sharif says is a Hindu was forcibly converted to Islam some time ago and is a drug addict notorious for quarrels.
The Hindu Temple Rehrki Mandir has also been stoned while a Hindu boy has been murdered, another Hindu boy has been seriously injured and a Hindu girl has been taken away by the protestors. SSP Maqsood Bangash has met with the members of All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat and assured them of security, but the shops and the businesses from Mirpur Mathelo to Sukkur remain shut, and people are frightened.
Pakistani Hindus think that they are unlucky children of Jinnah’s nation and should migrate Indian-administered Kashmir so that Pakistani Muslims also start losing their sleep over their human rights violations.
Due to these atrocities, the Pakistani Hindus are leaving Pakistan and are being forced to migrate to other nations with the Christians and Ahmadiyas behind them.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani establishment has not issued any statement till now while the Pakistani Hindus count their losses and miseries.
In an update, just now a formal ‘taken note of the situation’ has been released by Pakistan People’s Party under the name of its chairman who has been on the forefront of talking about Indian side of Kashmir but is woefully short of words when it comes to violence against Pakistani Hindus done by its own support base. Also, despite claiming to be a secular party, this is actually an Islamist group as anyone can see:

While the Bharchundi Peers and other radicals are saying that a Hindu man committed the blasphemy by entering a mosque and setting fire to Quran the truth seems to be that the alleged Hindu man had actually converted to Islam four years ago!
There are also questions that how is it that the gathering of ‘Muslims’ inside the mosque did not do anything to stop the ‘Hindu’ man in a ‘Mosque’ from committing Quran desecration? Who saw the man committing the act and if not then how was he framed? Through CCTV footage or merely by clerics to settle scores with the minorities as it keeps happening nowadays? These are logical questions but it seems in Pakistan, Hindu is not going to be heard, yet again.
The Pakistani publications are hell bent on using the Hindu name Amar Lal to discredit the peace-loving minorities and are playing alongside the radicals by refusing to acknowledge the conversion that happened not now but four years back! There are several Muslims who recently have been converted but rarely use their Muslim names.
Even Pakistani starlet Veena Malik is more famous by her non-Muslim name.
Are these newspapers afraid that this incident shows that forced conversion and persecution, that the Muslim clerics employ to make people convert their religion, is a double-edged sword?
In any case blasphemy against Quran by Muslims is not unthinkable, in Rimsha Masih case, it was pretty evident. There are also Muslims who openly mock other religions but rarely get booked for their crimes while the minorities such as the Hindus and Christians are targeted by the radicals in connivance with the political parties.
Daily Awami Awaz is a secular Sindhi newspaper which has given full coverage to the Quran desecration incident and brought this fact to life that the alleged Hindu is actually a converted Muslim!
The alleged desecrator was handed over by the Mehrab Samejo villagers and conveniently a huge number of Muslim protestors, in no time, descended to block the National Highway for 6-hours. How is it that such a huge number of people can work in coordination when the rumor has merely traveled from one ear to another? Does it not smell of a sinister campaign against the minorities in a Muslim majority nation? First, it was the Christian young man who was made to run from his house by his Muslim friend claiming that the Christian did blasphemy and now it is the Hindus who are merely 2% of the total population. These are tough questions and they must be sought answers for.
A First-Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the accused under section 295 (B) of the Pakistan Penal Code but nothing has been done for the Hindu victims who have been shot at and murdered by these protestors. So where should the Hindus go? Is this the Jinnah’s Pakistan?

As was being feared, due to lack of police protection for the Pakistani Hindus, extremists have started killing Hindu boys to avenge the desecration of Quran.
While Pakistani Hindus were earlier rejoicing as a Hindu girl Aneela was able to win her liberation from her captors, now news has come that a 16-year old minor Hindu girl named Madhu has been taken away by armed Muslim extremists from Mirpurkhas. Mirpurkhas is a radical area notorious for selling Om-laden sandals but for the Pakistani Hindus these are now the part of their ‘normal’ life.
It is not clear whether this kidnapping is due to Quran desecration for which the Bharchundi Peers are accusing the Hindu community.
Two Hindu boys have also been shot at Mirpur Mathelo , District Ghotki after Quran desecration. One was shot at the back while another has been shot at in his legs.
Out of the two injured young Hindu boys, Sateesh Kumar s/o Anoop Kumar has been killed while another boy Avinash has been seriously wounded and is the son of Chetan Das.
Avinash is critical.
He is undergoing treatment at the Raheem Yar Khan hospital. There were already reports that the violence would erupt against the Pakistani Hindus but the IG Sindh did not take any steps to contain the terror that has been unleashed against the Hindu community in Ghotki at the behest of the Sufi Peers of the Bharchundi.
Meanwhile, no statement of reassurance has been issued by any political party or anyone from the civil society so far and the media has not bothered to cover the atrocities against the Pakistani Hindus either. The ruling party PPP has strong ties with the Bharchundi Peers and is unlikely to issue a statement against them.
All that the Twitter account of the PPP Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, managed to say was about the replacement of Sindh’s Chief Minister.
