My Friend, when one has infection in one part of the body, the first thing required to be done is " localise it ", that is to prevent infection spread all over, then treat it. you are suggesting that let entire skin of India be set on fire.
The whole massage from the esteemed members here seems to be not to respond to Pakistani perfidy with peace but to respond with double violence in a tit for tat manner. Unfortunately that also does not seem to work with fatalistic suicidal Pakistani establishment. Pakistanis have been told that military solution to J&K means an assured Pak defeat as in 1947, 1965, 1971, Siachin, Kargil and so on.
Making LoC as border between the two countries means that Pak establishment accepts their military adventures always failed. That admission itself is fatalistic for Pakistani Generals and Army as power wielding establishment. To make fools of their Mullahs, politicians and public at large, the military keeps the LoC issue boiling at a temperature that does not result into all out war. It keeps the bogey of "Indian Hindu Satan" alive. That is the only national ideological foundation of Pakistan to survive.
Therefore, firing on LoC is a national compulsion for Pakistani Army. It is a perennial itch which can only go away with change in national psyche of Pakistan as it has no rationale to survive and exist but for anti India rationale. They are paid for it big times by the West, US and China and Arabs.
The bullet from which an Indian soldier dies there is either from USA or China.
The crux of Indian strategy on LoC therefore is to localise the local issue but retain an option even to bomb Karachi if required.
In localisation of the skirmishes India Army had been very careful to avoid casualties to civilians as collateral damage as civilians on both sides are considered as Indians only. This is necessary to win hearts and minds and isolate Pakjabi Army.
Hence, the logic of firing in Punjab Gujrat etc may be good for Pakistan but not good for India. Indian and Pakistani border areas there are rich, fertile and economically developed. Hence, Pakistanis only play games with cursed population and areas of J&K in Rajoury (Gujjars), Valley (Kashmiries) and Ladakh (Ladakhies) with whom they have no common ground but for majority religion. Their religion has become a curse for them to suffer at the hands of the Pakistan.
India is convincing the world that the possible solution to J&K is to convert the LoC into permanent border or Pakistan to vacate entire J&K. So let diplomacy work failing which India can capture entire POK as proved in the past. By not doing so, India has only tried to convince Pakistan that peace can be a better thing for her survival. India is very much a stakeholder in the survival of Pakistan as that is part of larger India ! We are not in new found land where the entire population is to be terminated.

I tend to agree. In the longer run, It is advantageous for India not to resolve the issue of LoC with Pakistan. Today Pakistani thoughts are that they are bleeding India and Indian Army in J&K. In the longer run it could be the other way round. Moreover, if J&K remains unresolved, it is a good reason for India to start a war with Pakistan unannounced and unnoticed. India should keep that sword hanging over the heads of Pakistani generals and Paki Army, lest they all find themselves in Tajikistan, Kazakhstan etc with their international jehadi fundamentalist agenda of playing the Gazies and Pazies.
J&K can prove to be a saviour of Afghanistan !! Chinese would also be interested that Pakistan remains tangled in J&K or they will have to fight their Jehadies in Xinjiang / East Turkmenistan.
So let the Pakistanies keep banging their heads on LoC and Siachin !

Face it, with your leadership, Pakistan will continue with it's terrorism against India and take their fustration out on Indian soldiers at the LoC and in Kashmir because to them, India is a soft target.

JAMMU, June 18: As Pakistan army continued to escalate tensions on the Line of Control (LoC) by resorting to heavy firing using mortars, rockets and UBGLs after a long time, Army have sent a detailed briefing to the Ministry of Defence and Army Headquarters about the ''evil designs'' of enemy troops, which today led to suspension of weekly cross-LoC bus service between two parts of divided State on Poonch-Rawlakote route and an uncertainty looming large over four days trade from tomorrow.
This was for the first time that Poonch-Rawlakote bus and cross-LoC trade between two parts of divided State have been suspended due to hostilities between the Armies of the two countries.
Even as an unusual calm prevailed in Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district, the epicenter of heavy firing by Pakistan army, retaliated in a controlled but effective manner by the troops, the Army authorities have given a detailed briefing to the MoD and Army Headquarters over prolonged spell of firing by Pakistan leading to one fatal casualties on this side and six injuries.
''We have apprised the MoD and Army Headquarters about the unusual situation created by Pakistan army in Krishna Ghati sector. A detailed note has been sent to MoD and Army Headquarters. The matter would be taken up with Pakistan at the highest level by the MoD through appropriate channels'', official sources said, describing suspension of cross-LoC bus service and trade between two parts of divided State by Pakistan as a ''serious matter''.
However, there was no firing from Pakistan today.
Ever since Pakistan army started heavy firing at KG sector on June 13, authorities of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) had refused to open gates at cross-LoC point of Chakan-Da-Bagh on June 14 and 15, the last two days of four days trade between two parts of divided State, without assigning any reasons. The trucks sent by the traders from this side to the zero line returned on both days.
Today, the weekly bus service between Poonch and Rawlakote didn't ply from either side as already there were reports that PoK authorities wouldn't open the gates at Chakan-Da-Bagh. Thirty civilians including 18 PoK returnees and 12 first time visitors from this side turned up at Poonch but returned as the bus didn't ply.
Similarly, four days trade for the week from Tuesday to Friday was also unlikely to take place going by the attitude of Pakistan authorities. Though officers and traders from this side were ready for tomorrow's trade, sources admitted that it was unlikely to materialize.
Meanwhile, in another effort to de-escalate tensions on the LoC especially in Krishna Ghati sector, Army today sent another message on hotline to Pakistan Army officials for a flag meeting tomorrow to discuss the situation arising out of heavy firing from across the LoC.
A previous such message by the Army to Pakistan for a flag meeting had been turned down by Pakistani troops without giving any reasons. So far, Indian authorities have only lodged their protest over Pakistan firing on the hotline as the flag meeting hasn't materialized.
Troops on this side were confident that with calm prevailing today in Krishna Ghati sector with no firing from across the LoC, Pakistan army might come forward for a flag meeting tomorrow to discuss the issues and resolve tensions.
Pakistan army has reportedly claimed that they had lost four jawans while five civilians have been injured on their side in retaliatory firing by the Indian Army.
''This was the major reason that they were not responding to the calls of flag meetings and also refusing to open gates at Chakan-Da-Bagh for cross-LoC bus and trade'', sources said, adding that Pakistan army committed most inhuman act when they even didn't allow an injured Army soldier Rajinder Singh to be evacuated from the forward post in Nangi Tekri area of Krishna Ghati sector leading to his killing and injuries to three jawans, who had gone to the spot to evacuate him.
Sources said the civil administration has also sent a detailed report of PoK authorities' refusal to open gates at Chakan-Da-Bagh for cross-LoC bus service and trade.
Though the bus and the trade had earlier also been suspended for different reasons, this was for the first time that PoK authorities didn't open the gates due to firing on the LoC.
Ceasefire between India and Pakistan Armies had come into force in November 2002 and since then it has been holding barring few exceptions from Pakistan side, which generally opened firing to push infiltrators into this side. However, this was after a long gap that Pakistan army violated ceasefire without facilitating the infiltration bid on the LoC.
Sources said during four days of firing by Pakistan army on June 13, 14, 16 and 17, no movement of infiltrators was spotted in any side of Krishna Ghati.
It may be mentioned that Pakistan army had also used mortars, rockets, Under Barrel Grenade Launchers (UBGLs) and heavy machine guns in the firing on forward Indian posts in Krishna Ghati sector.

Pakistani troops today violated ceasefire for the fourth time in the last five days and pounded Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) with mortar shells in Poonch district, promoting the Army to move an artillery battalion to forward posts in Krishna Ghati (KG) sector.
Reliable sources told The Tribune that an artillery battalion has been moved from Mendhar to effectively check possible infiltration attempts by militants from across the border besides dealing with frequent "misadventures of a hostile neighbour."
The fresh violation, 16th this year, resulted in injuries to Sepoy Kundan Singh of 3 Grenadiers.
"Last night, around 10.15 pm, Pakistani troops opened heavy fire on our posts in KG sector using mortars and automatic weapons. Initially, the intensity was low but from 11.15 onwards, they started firing mortars, forcing us to give them an effective response," said an Army spokesperson. The exchange of fire continued till 12.30 am.
At least 12 Indian posts were targeted by 653 Mujahid Regiment of the Pak Rangers, who used rocket launchers, heavy machine gun and UBGL grenades, said official sources. "Pak Rangers opened fire from Daku, Battal, Roza and Pimple posts opposite KG sector," they added. The Pakistani troops have so far violated the truce four times since June 13 resulting in killing of two soldiers Lance Naik Harvinder Singh and BSF jawan PK Mishra. Three soldiers have been injured.
"In the last five days, Pakistani troops have been continuously targeted our forward posts. Therefore, the Army, which exercised maximum restraint to de-escalate the situation, has now moved an artillery battalion from Mendhar to forward posts in KG sector," revealed sources.
Yesterday, the Pak Rangers had refused to attend a crucial flag meeting at Chakan-da-Bagh trade point.According to sources, the Pakistan Army and the ISI have moved militants very close to the LoC with an aim to help them cross over to the Indian side. However, they have not succeeded and were targeting forward Indian posts in sheer frustration.
Heavy firing from across the border created panic among the residents of Sagra, Balnoi, Gani and Dabraj villages close to the LoC in KG sector. These villages have a population of over 10,000.

Again,indian restrain get whole world respect including pakistan.Despite 40 billion dollars defense budget. Either we don't have enough bullets or balls to fire on pakis.
