Pakistan-trained terrorists planning to attack south India from Sri Lanka

The Maharashtra police have received a terror alert from central intelligence agencies warning that eight militants are undergoing training in Pakistan-based camps to attack targets in south India from Sri Lanka.

Sent by the joint director of VIP Security (under the Union home ministry) in New Delhi in mid-August, the nine-page alert states that four of the terror trainees are "Punjabis and the remaining Kashmiris or Pathans". Their "drop-off point" is expected to be around 28km off Jaffna and their target could be Mayiladuthurai or Madurai in Tamil Nadu, according to the alert.

The warning asks security agencies across the country to be on high alert since the attack may come in "a few months". Following the notice's receipt, the Mumbai police have activated all their sources of information.

A passage on the alert's third page reads, "Sri Lankan agencies are reported to have arrested three suspected Pak nationals on February 2, 2013, who confessed to having visited Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram on Sri Lankan passports."

It continues: "An unconfirmed input suggests entry of such elements in Kerala or Tamil Nadu through sea route with the connivance of Sinhalese fishermen. It has been reported that LeT ( Lashkar-e-Taiba) is working on a plot to carry out attacks in India and eight terror suspects are being trained in Pakistan".

The alert expresses concern over the attempts of several terror outfits—including LeT, Babbar Khalsa International, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Jamat-ud-Dawaa, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Al-Umer Mujahideen, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen—at joining hands to organize strikes in India. It also points to several Pakistan-based groups' efforts to use Sri Lanka as the launching pad for their operations in India.

The warning mentions various intelligence inputs gathered over time. One such input suggested the LeT is plotting to target the Wagah border crossing, particularly during the flag-lowering ceremony.

Another bit of information—received in September 2012 and uncorroborated—said that Lashkar-e-Jhangvi is planning a 26/11-style attack in New Delhi. Yet another input was of a meeting, "organised by LeT commander Habib ur Rehman", of commanders of several militant outfits in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan this year. During the meet, the alert says, Rehman pressured the commanders to push maximum possible cadres into India to carry out "small targeted actions" in different parts of the country.

The warning also speaks of an input of a meeting of terror groups where they decided to avenge the execution of Parliament attack convict, Afzal Guru, by striking Tihar jail in New Delhi.

No need to panic, brace yourself for an attack, each ex war veteran needs to take classes for 50 citizens in their near vicinity to sensitize the locals. Clean your NSP/ Licensed weapons and plan reactions.
Terrorists are likely to :-
Hold hostages ( school children are vulnerable)
Women as hostage in a mall / beauty par lour etc.
Attack a high value target ( a Govt Building )
Gain publicity out of proportion to the damage inflicted.
We need to resist at every stage by whatever means & make their task untenable / unsustainable.
ARE WE ALL UP TO IT !! ( DO NOT WAIT FOR THE POLICE / NSG to reach you in real time frame.)
They will be there eventually, but do not allow terrorists to get entrenched.
Use your ingenuity, cut off water supply, electricity, whatever, mantra is to resist. Become a nagging pain till professionals arrive, BUT RESIST

Terror is the modern times incurable pain, learn to live and survive by fighting it out.
Each one of us has to get trained to resist this and emerge on top. The Terrorist guy should know that he will get as good as he thinks he is about to give or maybe better, as he is facing a fighting /resisting race/ citizenry and not some who will meekly go to the slaughter house. God forbid if you manage to catch any of these, dregs of society alive, they should have the fear of hell written on their faces as to what a volatile citizenry will do to them. Counter, terror by planning/foresight & resistance.

Well when we have Arab-wannabes welcoming these scum in Kerala, why won't they attack freely?

Kerala has become another Kashmir thanks to the 'RELIGION OF PEACE'.

The cases there are appalling.

When Madani and his types are revered in a state, what to make out of it.

Good thing that the agencies have got them in their radars.

But it all boils down to see as to how much support would the government give the security forces against this threat..

As for the terrorists; BRING IT, retards!

These guys are waiting for you:

Coastal security beefed up after terror alert

Vigil along the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu has been beefed up following a terror alert from the Intelligence Bureau warning of an attack by Pakistan-based terrorists, who reportedly have plans to infiltrate South India through Sri Lankan waters.

Police sources said the Intelligence Bureau had warned the State of a possible infiltration bid by eight terrorists.

The militants who might enlist the help of Sri Lankan fishermen have plans to attack either Madurai or Mayiladurai in the next few months.

They have also planned to gain entry through Kerala if their route through Tamil Nadu fails.

A top police official said they had received the alert a few months back and added that security had been tightened with 24 boats belonging to the Coastal Security Group on full-time patrolling along with Navy and Coast Guard.

Policemen from 12 marine police stations are also guarding the shores and 20 new boats have been deployed on patrolling duty along the 1076-kilometre coastal stretch in Tamil Nadu.Fishermen associations and vigilance committees in villages will also be on high alert and security and safety reports have been prepared and sent to the district police, sources said.

They added that fishermen have been asked to sail in groups with their ID cards and GPS systems and told to inform the police about any movement of suspicious boats at sea. Sources further said that a heavy posse of police personnel have been deployed in temples in southern districts, including Madurai.

I wonder why is Sri Lanka supporting terrorism against us.

Do they want to really antagonize us that bad?

That too after we stopped supporting LTTE?

For their own sake, I hope the Lankans don't end up becoming a hired arm like the esteemed western neighbors.
The Govt. of Sri Lanka should call on Tea party the Srilankan cricketers, who were holed up in a Bus in Pakistan, facing liberally spent shrapnels.

India stopped, but not Tamilians.

Currently tamilians are busy waving Elam flags and stopping the film Madras Cafe from releasing as it might have shown LTTE and Prabhakaran in a bad light.

I don't mind.

LTTE was a retaliatory step against SL for allying with Pakistan against us in 1971 war.

And after the barbaric massacre that SL Army did to Tamils during their recent war against LTTE, I find it as reasonable.

I am not talking about armed LTTE cadres...innocent civilians were butchered by SL Army who had done nothing to prevent it.

Even BBC and other international channels reported the massacre and there's a whole documentary on it.

It has become a fashion in Bollywood to be anti-everything that has anything to do with Indian.
