Pakistan to receive $510 million aid tranche from IMF
DUBAI: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Thursday it had reviewed Pakistan's economic performance and will make available a further $510 million to the country as part of a three-year, $6.7 billion financial assistance programme.
The money will be provided when the review is approved by the IMF's management and executive board, the Fund said in a statement, describing its discussions with Pakistan as “productive” and adding that performance criteria in the programme had been met.
“After productive discussions, the mission and the Pakistani authorities have reached staff- level agreement on the completion of the eleventh review under the EFF arrangement,” said Harald Finger, the Fund's mission chief for Pakistan.
The statement added that growth has remained robust despite a weak cotton harvest and declining exports amid a more challenging global environment.
“Real GDP growth is expected to reach 4.5 percent in FY 2015/16 and 4.7 percent in FY 2016/17, helped by favorable oil prices, rising investment, including related to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), improvements in energy supply, buoyant construction activity, and acceleration of credit growth.”
IMF stated that all end-March 2016 quantitative performance criteria, including the budget deficit target and the floor on the SBP’s net international reserves, have been met.
Pakistan's gross domestic product growth is projected at 4.5 per cent in the 2015/16 fiscal year and 4.7pc in the following year, the IMF said.
The agreement was reached after the IMF mission held discussions with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, SBP Governor Ashraf Wathra and other senior officials in Dubai from May 2 to May 11.

I told it long time back... India is being fooled by ammies and porkis. They will anyhow get the birds no doubt. As their procurement is way way way different than India's. They know how to get it done.

The point is not about they get 6 or 12 , the basic point is,India's diplomacy is not working.

Who buys 6 planes? Pakis just wanted to show they are major player too and got importance in the eyes of Ammies

Bhai mere, we can't suddenly bring down sale to zero.
But we blocked most of their sources of bheekh, yes it's success.
Who buys 6 planes?
Who have money for six planes.
Pakis have to use donations even for that.
Poor pakis have not money for even six planes.

And by asking China and turkey to block India's entry to NSG is how they are retaliating.

By asking. :D
Still they call themselves arch rivals of India.
yes they have to ask for it. But the problem is the succeed in doing that most of the times and thus create economic blockade at certain levels. Which deals with energy and industry sectors directly.

Pls tell Yankee's way out of India.. I knw we poised to invite yanks out of china threat. But still they(usa and china) are infinitely interlocked deeply, any small agreement between them will result dumping India in to t--sh bin. We are being seen as tool by so called yank and there are other ways to pressurise us in to becoming non nato member in future . They are two ways 1 from pak threat angle en 2 from china angle(for usa)

I urge great think tanks wait until China seriously hurts usa (until then no agreement should be signed ), before that usa don't realise importance of India except irking and testing India's imaginary no tress pass line called patience and start taking India for granted. It's bound to happen.

There are solely two scape goats here 1. RUSSIA (playing gaga with china) 2. INDIA (ready to play roaring tiger :) )

Its never too late that India and Russia are being played. Unless they both realise and believe there is sub diversionary tactic before its too late.

There are 2 problems:
1. The game between China and USA is not the cold war. Instead, it is a economic dominance contest, all the political disputes and military confrontations are aiming at the ultimate economic influence. Today, Yankees are urging Japanese and Koreans to share their cost. Americans can't afford the huge financial cost of having India as her close ally.
2. It is not if USA can realise the importance of India, but how much India would commit on USA. So far, India is doing nothing but lip work.

That is your view. We believe it is a purely military contest and is a repeat of West vs USSR. Only difference is Chinese are stronger than Soviets economically.

It is both ways. Obama is not a strong leader. The situation will clear once next President comes in.
In this relationship, equipment is not so important. Military sales is of importance to USA more than India. India can always buy its equipment elsewhere. More important is logistics and intelligence.

Well, India has set up a hotline with China too recently.
India must play balanced on both sides and take advantages from both till it's own rise.

India takes service tax to help any country? :D

So, what do you want from us? Did China crushed it's ambitions and bowed to Russia? o_O
