Pakistan conducts first flight test of surface-to-surface Ababeel missile

On January 24, Pakistan test-fired 2,200-kilometre range indigenously-developed surface to surface nuclear-capable missile Ababeel. The missile is capable of delivering multiple warheads, using Multiple Independent Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.

The Ababeel test flight was aimed at validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system.

During the same month, submarine-launched cruise missile Babur-III was successfully test-fired. Babur weapons system incorporates advanced aerodynamics and avionics that can strike targets both at land and sea with high accuracy at a range of 700kms.

Babur-III is a low flying, terrain hugging missile, which carries certain stealth features and is capable of carrying various types of warheads.

NK has some tech, which will find there way into Pak hands soon, like the SLBM and containerised ballistic missile.

Lets wait and watch.

In the mean time lets continue to engage them in arms race, which they can't afford to have.

Jokes apart guys...

Let's ask few questions in sane way...

Guidance for 600 km range is no joke...

since it is a ground to sea missile you must be planning to target our ships...

Here are my questions,

1. Was the missile tested for its full range...
2. If so, can you please give the details of targeting system which guided the missile...
3. If not, how did you come to the conclusion that range of the missile is 600 km
4. Missiles of such range have mid course guidance so that they don't loose in the sea... Any idea about what is being used in this missile...
5. What is the weight of warhead and what kind.of warheads it can carry!!??
6. Any details regarding NOT AM would be great...

So far as missiles are concern, we are self reliant by and large and in next 5 years, we shall be fully self reliant in all types of missiles including seekers.

You forgot any counter measure against Barak - 8 and Barak - ER. All IN ships are equipped with these which world's best Missiles o counter such threats. Other than being a target practice for our Baraks this missile will be of no use against IN ships.
