The below video dates back to 1 August 1998, only a couple of months after the Indian and Pakistani nuclear tests in May of that year. It was made by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for the Australian international current affairs programme "Foreign Correspondent" and was screened on Australian television on 18 August 1998 with the Australian film crew and interviewer reporting exclusively from the Pakistani side. Its original title was "Pakistan on Ice". Journeyman Pictures have uploaded this episode of "Foreign Correspondent" on YouTube as "Pakistan - The Siachen Syndrome" and added it to their website. Although it is over 16 years old, it is still very interesting.

British rulers were crooked and cunning and thought long term..therefore , they divided India and facilitated creation of Islamic Pakistan. The goal was to keep "divide and rule" for many more decades. And, the west did exactly that. They nurtured Islamic Pakistan , gave them sophisticated arms, such as
as Patton tanks, Sabre jets and later F-16s etc. and gave lots of money to raise Pakistani Army...to use it as a proxy force to threaten ,intimidate and control India. India reacted by tilting towards Soviet Union which was willing to empower India to defend India from West+Saudi Arabia+Pakistan Axis.
India got MIG21 , T72 etc. tanks from Soviet Union and Western plans to divide. degrade and destroy India failed as a powerful leader, Indira Gandhi united and made Indian Military a strong and capable force to respond to Pakistani aggression directed and guided by the West.
Times have changed....West is unable to use Pakistan anymore as a proxy, hired gun as Paki is crumbling from within and is no match to Indian Military and economic power.

Well, of course, what the Pakistani army personnel say in the video is not going to be complimentary to the Indian Army. As the journalist pointed out, the propaganda war is fought fiercely and what the Pakistani soldiers say about the Indian Army in Kashmir in the video is propaganda said to denigrate and disparage the Indian Army. So, of course, Indians are not going to like what the Pakistani military say about the Indian Army. And to me, several of the propagandist remarks by the Pakistani military personnel are so obviously propagandist as to be childish and unconvincing.

What is of more benefit than the usual propagandist drivel spewed out by the Pakistani military establishment is what Dr Samina Ahmed has to say about the balance of nuclear arms between India and Pakistan and the potential for nuclear war between the two countries. She speaks far more sense than anyone else in the documentary.

"...Pakistani aggression directed and guided by the West." Yes, it was all an anti-Indian conspiracy by the evil West, starting with the British! The West is the real enemy of India!

Clearly Moslems are not the only ones who indulge in outlandish conspiracy theories and seek external scapegoats.

RedHawk...This is not a conspiracy theory...this is true history....West used Pakistan as a hired gun by throwing billions of dollars to its military and empowered it by weapons like sabre jets, patton tanks etc. so that India can be intimidated and if possible, controlled. These are facts...If you do real research about the weapon supplies and connection of west to Pakistani dictators such as Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, ZIA ul Rahman , and recently ,Musarraf...evrything will become clear to you. The use of dictators by west is not a new tactics...do you remember, (if you are old enough) Hosni Mubarak, King of Jordan, Saudi Abdulla, and even one time, Saddam( to be used against Mullah regime in Iran)....do you know of these western lackeys and puppets to be installed and used against other nations. How can one erase the history ? I know it is hard for you to digest the truth about evil designs of western rulers because you might be brainwashed by western media chanting democracy and then, installing and nurturing the dictators and monarchs. Tell me why Pakistani leaders of today (Sharif, Imran Khan, that muhajir leader etc ) all have their homes in London and stay there at least half of the time ?
As far as west being enemy to India...its simply not possible now...West have created enough enemies already....1.3 billion Chinese, 180 million Russians, 80 million Iranians, Venejualans, Brazilians, most middle easterners, most latins....How many more enemies are needed...1.2 billion Indians are neutral and tha'ts good. Its not possible to bully the entire 6.5 billions people even if 14 million (the so called masters and banksters) dream to rule the world. Times are changing fast....Western power is certainly on decline and its time to learn the language of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
