Pakistan airforce in talks to get converted it's existing C 130planes into spooky configuration to hit terrorists close to border saving attack helicopter usage which is risky against anti aircraft shoulder fired surface to air missile and increase the payload of weapons on spooky gives lot of choices and drones will be used to lighten up the targets and spookiest burn those terrorists

A very robust and cost effective option for Pakistan
Also a very easy target for cheap ground-based AA batteries. AC-130s are called in after several bombing runs by fighter aircraft in order to soften any AA resistance. Unless you are planning to use your air force in sustained bomb runs into Afghanistan before sending in the AC-130s expect significant losses.

If PAF plans to use them in COIN operation deep inside its territory then one can argue its cost effective option for Pakistan.
These aircraft can't sustain flight in contested airspace.
They are too vulnerable to enemy aircraft and AD-systems.
USAF only operates them when enemy has no AD systems and USAF has total control on the airspace.
Modern armed forces prefer PGM like guided artillery, missiles, guided bomb because the aid in survival-ability of its launch platform.
These platform will be liability for PAF against India, Iran and even Afghanistan.

But we are using here in Afghanistan who has no air defence systems and no fighter jets and our thunders will protect them

Iraqis took one down with unguided RPGs, still one if the worst USAF losses in history. There was lots of RR after that, that the target had not been softened enough by prior airstrikes.
AC-130 is a deathtrap in contested airspace, just like America's overhype king, the A-10.
