Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday announced Asia’s largest oil and gas reserves may soon been found in Karachi’s offshore waters, Express News reported.

In a talk with journalists, the premier said there have been positive indicators in the exploration process and the nation would likely be hearing major news on this front within the next three weeks.

He urged the nation to pray for the success of the exploration efforts and said the development could bring about a massive change in Pakistan’s fortunes.

Still no international news source or oil and gas experts confirming this news.

The Pakis are already jumping and imagining themselves as future sheikhs lol.

We will know in 3 weeks if anything actually turns out - though indications are showing that there is something, just the size of the reserves are up for guess.

By 2050s fusion will be the new norm. You will have Fallout like vehicles and devices everywhere. India happens to have one of the largest if not THE largest Thorium reserves in the world.

To protect the oil reserves, Pakis will need massive investment and partnerships.

go to ONGC report for, to add more bombay high ......... all "other" sea projects were found to be non economical.

ok its a very very old report. some time in late 1980s

then to today the cost of drilling in sea has gone up by 200 times

they had covered India to Africa ... Iran to Maldives

Also ultra deep water drilling is very expensive - the reserves have to be huge for it to be economical.

I am skeptical about all of this - I spoke to some buddies in Exxon and they said they haven’t heard of news of big findings - the last big one was at Cyprus (covered by all international media)

Hopefully it’s just Imran doing prosperity propaganda.

It is deep sea drilling, not like other Middle East oil fields.

Secondly companies are drilling there for years. May not be a big reserve as they are promoting but with the new technology they can extract gas and some oil it seems.

These days technology advancements are enabling to drill deeper.

It is quite puerile of Imran Khan to talk about finding 'large' oil and gas deposit even before the exploratory drilling has happened......no country's PM ever makes such speculative talk! But of course IK thinks it's like playing cricket - talk about winning before the first ball has been bowled!

At the same time Pakistani rupee is falling since last few days. Difference is very small compared to last month, but considering how strictly they maintain rupee value at flat rate, this could be beginning of bigger controlled fall of PKR. Coincidence?

We are targeting 30% e-vehicles by 2030.. Hope govt. takes that target seriously!
North India already has the most polluted atmosphere in the world, with Delhi & Kolkata topping as Earth's most air-polluted cities in Winter, while 12 of 15 topmost urban air pollution are from India.

Fully concentrating on Nuclear-fusion tech & better lithium-ion battery is our only hope... Whoever doesn't take this seriously is truely the greatest enemy of India, not a bunch of desert savages nor a failed nation. (..And that's from 2016. All previous records were shattered by 2017-18.)
