I highly doubt their GDP figure. It is most likely in the range of $200-$250 billion. Pakistan barely has any industrial base. Truth will come out when facts and figures are seen with a lens.
Their economy is just remittances and import based. They don’t have any sizeable base in anything, be it manufacturing or services.

@ezsasa @Crazywithmath Porkis rebased their GDP and it went up like nothing
17% increase, while when we rebased last time in 2015 our GDP went down by 2.3%, looks like Pakeee stan is taking lessons from Bongladesh :smash:.

IMF must have told them to do it, 15 years is too long a time not to do this exercise.

Does this document have their GDP in current prices?

ours is 2011 base year, few more years and we too will have to do it.

Last year we did it and our GDP reduced by 2.3% while Paki and Bangloo GDP went up by 17% and 23% respectively. And I’ll see their document, this one I found being shared on Twitter.

our base year did not change, it is still 2011-12.

the down revision in our case is general practice of RE (Revised estimate), usually there are two REs RE1 and RE2 because data of some sectors comes late. GDP ultimately is an estimate, not exact numbers.

We rebased our base year in 2015 to 2011-12 afaik which caused the dip of 2.3%.

another possible explanation as to why this happened now could be because of 2% factor. paki are asking for loan of 2% of GDP, earlier it was 4-5 billion $, now with this revision the limit becomes 7 billion $.

Thats totally screwed up.
We don't pay that kind of interest rates!
Modi ka yar hai, Gaddar hai bol ke Nawaz ko Nikala aur katora khan ko laye. Result is visible. PSL is facing issue because of PKR depreciation. International players now seek fees in USD as they get less and less money because of currency depreciation.
