Pakistan Considering Russian, French Aircraft To Replace 190 Fighter Planes

DAWN, as the country is still in discussion stage with the US to buy eight jets.

Jane’s reported recently that Pakistan may purchase 10 more F-16s if the current deal for eight of these fighter jets is successfully concluded.

“But we are looking at other options too, such as buying them from Russia or France,” the official said.

However, official noted that French aircraft were “very expensive, the Russians are not and they are equally good”.

In September last year, Russia offered to sell Su-35 planes to Pakistan, which are among the fifth generation aircraft.

Pakistani officials say that India’s defence purchases also influence their search for a matching technology. India is already working on a plan to replace its current fleet of planes with fifth generation aircraft by 2020, forcing Pakistan to do the same.

Pakistani officials point out that they also have a large-scale defence collaboration with China, “which is a great source of strength” for the country.

Pakistan is currently in talks with the United States to buy two single-seat F-16Cs and six twin-seat F-16Ds, along with associated equipment - for about $699 million.

Every Paki will have to sell their kidney for SU 35,even then there will be a chance that Russia refuse it.

As for French Aircraft, Pakis forget that they have around $20 billion forex in their account, they obviously can't afford Rafale neither French would ever sell it to any terrorist state.

So this so called official have no idea what the fuck he is talking about.

I think France will sell Rafale to Pakistan, funded by Saudi aid and French loans. If Egypt can get, why not Pakistan. Pakistan is working on a Muslim-NATO. France would definitely like to be main supplier to Muslim-NATO.

I am feeling relieved. Hope this deal happens soon.

A rafale sale to Pakistan will shut the mouths of IAF.

Doubt it, Dassault has plans to tie up with a local firm, for parrikar's "may produce one or more aircraft for IAF locally" idea.

Pakistan is working on a Muslim-NATO.
Really.A Muslim NATO like alliance, you know what is it even mean ?

So like Allied NATO invasions, these Musalman countries would invade a non Musalam state which they consider the enemy starting with Kashmir.

Good now we have a legitimate reason to Nuke Macca.

This "NATO like" alliance is just a cosmetic terrorist wahabi club and failed dictatorships mainly against shiya IRAN with most of the countries have pathetic military both in training and war experience.Only thing they have is money and war machines and cannon fodder in the form of Pakis.

They lack balls to say anything against non musalman or big country like India or Israel.

Muslim countries hardly won any war against Non Musalman in the last 100 years (except Turks) so obviously they form an alliance.

What happened? Not satisfied with JF17s anymore?
No we are fully satisfied but we need a third 4.5th Generation platform to give us variation and also to fill numbers. We are looking at various platforms as far as I know from Euro Fighter to Rafale and SU-35 not sure about MIG-35.

On IDN, there is a news that Saudi Arab is trying to stitch up a Nato-like ghetto of musalmans. This is very heart-warming. Anyone who knows properties of a musalman, knows that as soon as they reach a critical mass, they implode !! It is a good self-destructing move.

Aww... you guys forgot F-35. Joking aside, Eurofighter and Rafeal are too expensive, not just unit cost, spares, training what not, what numbers are planned, Su-35 deal has been much rumored but so far has only translated in India funding T-50, moreover Indians have much stronger diplomatic relations then what "danishwars" on Pak TV might tell you, you guys won't be buying Stakes in their energy companies, oil fields and invest in their economy. Neither a support on any international issue (e.g Iran-Saudi ; Yemen- Saudi ; Syria- Saudi ). And Iran wants to buy S-35 too, with license actually. You see why I highly doubt such a deal.

But what about Gripen, Sweden might sell you and it has AESA, and western machinery which will have logistic similarity.

Does Pak have necessary infrastructure and money to maintain 5th Gen Aircrafts? They are not only expensive to buy but require a different industrial eco-system for upkeep & maintenance. Facilities at Kamra is good only for JF-17(primitive & unreliable).
