Pakistan's defence budget is the lowest in the region despite its location in the red zone in terms of growing threats to its internal security.

Pakistan's defence allocation (US$7.6 billion approximately) is the lowest as compared to the rising defence budget of India which stands at approximately US$51 billion, China $145 billion, Turkey at $22 billion and Iran at $10.2 billion.

According to the United Nations, Pakistan had a gross domestic product of US $250 billion in the year 2015. In comparison, the GDP of Turkey was recorded at $800 bn, Iran at $430 bn, India at $2,308 bn, and China at $10,358 bn.

All defence and defence production organisations get their funds from defence budget allocated by the federal government in Pakistan and approved by the Parliament.

The Pakistani Army gets 48% of the whole defence budget while 20% goes to the Pakistani Air force and the Navy gets only 10% and the remaining 22% goes for ex-servicemen pension and a little amount goes to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Specific budgetary allocations for the ISI is not disclosed since the Indian RAW and Israeli Mossad’s budget is kept secret.

Terrorism and Military Rule in Pakistan has dried up all foreign investments from the country. With an economy that depends on Foreign Financial Aid even after 68 years of Independence, Pakistan still dreams of competing with India on a daily basis.

The GDP of India is 8.19 and 8.36 times more than Pakistan at nominal and PPP terms, respectively. India crossed the $1 trillion mark in 2007 and $2 trillion mark in 2014. While Pakistan has yet to cross the $300 billion mark. In 1980, size of the economies of India and Pakistan was $181 and $31 bn, respectively.

Aggressive Rise of India's Defence Budget ::

India's defence budget is expected to rise by 10% Y-O-Y for the next 10 years as its economy expands at an aggressive pace as it takes pole position amongst the world's top 5 economies. In the next three years by 2019, India is expected to become a $3 trillion economy and its defence budget will surpass that of the United Kingdom.

India has left Pakistan far too behind in a race that has become impossible for Pakistan to even catch-up.

India trying to catch-up with China ::

China's economy on the other hand is showing signs of extreme distress and has slowed down its GDP to below 7%. China's forex reserves have been on a constant decline and they fell by $512.7 billion in the financial year 2015-16.

Since the dawn of the Modi govt., India displaced China as the world's top investment destination by attracting a whopping $31 bn in Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in the year 2015.

If India continues on this remarkable growth rate, it will become the world's third largest economy by 2030 (14 years from now) competing head-on with China and leaving Pakistan as an insignificant 3rd world country.

1.Well so far they have. Through innovation and reach into its cultural depth, Pakistan claims every day that it can counter India any time.
2. People of SA want peace, not arms race which takes nations only to disaster.

They do not care. If they fail to sustain they will definitely go nuclear. This is their policy.

So what is your answer? Mine is disarmament of all SA nations.
Disarmament will not happen, it will only get modernized. If India achieves 8 -9% growth rate and have good economy then conflict won't happen. As India will be much more responsible state with more assets and can deal extremist religiously blind countries like Pakistan without actually going into confrontation with them.

However, we in BD watch India's ever growing military strength with serious concern. To justify such huge expenditure, India's military may be pushed into a conflict with a weak neighbor.

A Responsible Nation never seeks war. Pakistan is our enemy, have no doubt, China is our rival. Rest of our neighbours will establish a profitable and sustainable relation with us through regional economic integration.

Why would we want a conflict with Bangladesh?

Do you know what India's GDP to defence spending ratio is?

It is very disgusting to see ''mentioning of Porkis in any thing related to India''.Anyway our defence budget is 51bn and China's 145 bn, we must increase our defence budget to at-least 100bn in 2020.

And

Indians/Hindus must stop using the DEROGATORY filthy name SOUTH-ASIA .... Yak Afghan/Pakis/Bangladesi yak

we are not concerned with pakistan's conventional defence budget. We are more concerned about their nuclear hold.

India has two nuclear neighbours, that alone justifies its huge military budget. If India does not have any military budget , then neither B'desh's bengali culture is safe from these two. Well, B'deshi know more than Indians, what Pakistanis are.

It is the fault of leaders in India that they are weak in power projection , the leaders should make sure that, countries like B'desh and Sri Lanka should get all Military assistance and technology plus the training , as India has more experience in counter terrorism sort of operations. It is the only country which assisted the Bengalis in 1971 and both successfully liberated B'desh. No other country has managed to do that in just 14 days with a tremendous coordination. Hence it will be great to see B'deshis dropping that Idea and simply contribute towards success of south Asia.

Pakistan relies on USA, China and Saudi. That is military power far greater than India.

You have to count total military power in case of alliances.

India should spend 3% of GDP on military, but cannot achieve this figure in the short term.

1: Our GDP is actually 272 billion and defense budget stands at 9.5 billion

2: It isnt our fault that our population is around 200 billion compared to India's population of around 1.5 trillion.

3: Our ISI is not funded by the government, its a self-dependant organization; which gains money though various cells around the world.

4: Even with that 50 billion dollar 'supa powa budget' your soldiers are less equipped than ethiopian policemen.

Where did you get the population data from? I think you meant 200 Million for Pakistan and 1.25 Billion in the case of India.

Are you in ISI?

http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD

This is the most reliable source of GDP.

India 2048B in 2014 (calendar year)
Pakistan 243B in 2014 (calendar year)

2015 figures are not yet available.

India defence spending at USD 40B
Pakistan defence spending at 7B

"soldiers are less equipped than ethiopian policemen": What can I say? What do you expect? I think there are deficiencies (more in para-military) but are quickly being remedied now.

For a country like India which is sitting in next to two nuclear regimes and who are unreliable and hostile towards India. Defense of the country must be the high priority whether it is conventional warfare or non conventional like terror, drugs, fake currency etc...etc...,

Yes a self funded organization which has the ideology similar to Islamic Jihadi organizations, in short ISI and PA are like normal islamic militant organizations using pakistani state as a cover for their operations against Kafir dominated India.

After 9/11 every thing got exposed and from then on ISI and PA are doing circus to present a good narrative to the world.
